Motorola V400

im confused, apparently, the phone lets you make regular ringtones except the keys are different than the older motorola phones, can anyone help me? it would be greatley appreciated

love my v400.. but i have to charge it every day or every other day.. average airtime use here... how is everyone else's battery last? cingular says its normal.. motorola says its too short... help moto please 😢

is it possible to transfer ringtones that I created to the phone without a data cable?

i downloaded the first version of mpt, and i got a usb cable from ebay. i cant find where to download the update so the software is compatible with my v400. i looked at motclub.com but when i click on the links they say its not available or something. i dont know if the site is down or what. if someone could please tell me what i need to get and where to get it from i will be forever indebted to you!!!!!! thanks a lot in advance

Anybody else been having any problems with files stored on their V400, specifically with the Categories? In pictures I've had it shuffle the Category names around twice so far (my "Women" and "Castles" categories getting the names switched, for instance). In audio, the one category I had completely disappeared. All the files which were in that category are nowhere to be found (MIA) and not listed in "All".
I just got my phone a little over a week ago so the firmware/flexware/whatever should be pretty much up to date.

Any suggestions or people with similar problems?

So here is my problem just wanted to see if anyone has had this issue and had any idea's on how to fix it.

I installed and upgraded my MPT to 2.20 and then upgraded my driver using the " P2K_driver_2.3" set I was then able to see the my v400 folders in the multimedia browser. So then I un-installed PST 6.7 as soon as I did that I was unable to see the folders anymore it's like it shuts down the com port every time I connect. So I uninstalled PST I also un-installed MPT and what xp sees as my motorola usb modem. I went throught the whole install process again upgraded the drivers and it is still closing the com port. I then restored my computer to the week before I installed MPT and re-installed again but I am still having the same proble...

when i try to select/create a new motomixer, i get directed back to the multimedia menu. i saw someone with the same problem on one of the user reviews. is this a defect or do i just not know how to use it? and if it's a defect, are ALL the phones like it or just a couple?

i downloaded and installed phone tools as directed by fetnu but my phone is not in the list of those to be installed, further i tried to download the upgrade and it doest work, the link that is.

So i ordered a Generic usb cable from ebay, fits fine everything, its made for my V400...

i plug it all in - run mobile phone tools and it keeps telling me

"USB Device not Recognised - one of the usb devices attatched to this computer has malfunctioned and windows does not recognize it"

I cant figure it out--- i ran live update, got the newest version but my computer wont recognize the software???!?!?!?

im am still having problems w/ the screensaver...for some reason when the back light on my phone turns off, everyting does and the screensaver doesnt show up???? does this happen to anyone else?? where the whole main page and everyting just goes black after you leave it alone for a bit?? i tried turning off the delay...cant figure out how to use the screensaver....any help or advice???? aprreciate it....

Comparing the Nokia 6200 and the Motorola v400, what's better? as far as reception? and in general?

i used tagtag to create a simple WAP site to download graphics and ringtones to my v400. The graphics worked perfectly. Unfortunately tagtag doesnt allow for uploading mp3 format to their site, so i used another host for the mp3 file i wanted to download and created a simple link on my WAP site for the mp3 file. When I go to my WAP site from my phone, it downloads the mp3 file, but then it says it's not recognized. I've tried numerous times and it still won't work. The mp3 file is about 50k and it's definitely an mp3, what am i doing wrong?

I can be found on this site using FETNU also. Almost all the questions that are being asked here have been answered numerous times over there.

i need help using this software, i checked on fetnu's site and did all that was instructed but when i change the bitrate, not only does the size not change, the file looses its composition and becomes slow.

Another thing, even after i do all this successfully using my cable how do i download it to my phone

Ok, so i started to try and make an .mp3 ringtone for my V400 phone..

i opened up audacity, imported the song i want to be my ringtone, cut it down and shortened it to about 15 or so seconds and when i go to record it, the box shows up on the bottom and it shows the line moving but its not recording it for some reason...

is there something i'm doing wrong? I cant figure out this program for nothing.

Please help asap thanks!!!
