Just noticed CINGULAR'S new (?) on-line price of $99.99 after $100.00 rebate.

IOW $199.99 up-front less a $100.00 rebate=$99.99 final cost. Hhhmmm, thats $50.00 less than last week!

Maybe the V600 is closer than we think.

how much is wireless internet for cingular wireless?

I have 2 v400 phones and on both of these phones after ending a call, the display says that there is 1 missed call - unknown.

This happens after every call and it happens on both of my phones.

Has this been happening to any other v400 owners?

Phonescoop.com is nice because this board is ONLY for the v400 where howardforums.com is for all Motorola phones. I can be found under this message board using the same name (FETNU). I've seen a lot of answers to many of the questions posted here.

Hopefully some of you will sign up for that board as well -it's free!

I bought one of those cheap data cables on E-bay, got Moto Mobile Phone Tools and did not have any problems copying pics and ringers to my phone!!! Works like a charm. Bought my cable for 7 cents + s/h ($5.99) on e-bay. So, if your looking for a data cable, no need to spend a lot of $$$.

Does anyone know of a way to get the old classic ringtones like those on my V60T over to the v400... i.e. I like the Cosmic ring, but for the life of me can't seem to figure out the notes to put it in... Any help would be appreciated!

Can anyone recommend good shareware/freeware for editing MP3's? The goal is to edit them so that they are small enough in file size to be manageable to fit on my phone. I also want to edit the MP3's themselves, as I do not need a 4 -5 minute song on my phone. Any suggestions would be great!

the phone kicks ass...but I think they need to make a extended battery for the phone of course with a bigger back. The battery goes quick, good thing I got an extra battery and a desktop charger for it.

After a lot of chasing down vendors and verifying information, here's what I've learned about the data cable and Motorola's Mobile Phone Tools:

Motorola Mobile Phone Tools is made by BVRP Software and runs under Windows 98/Me/2000/XP. The software can be purchased either seperately or with a data cable. List price is $70 for the package, $40 for the software.

The current version is v2.19a. According to the rep I talked to, there is a new CD version coming out in February that will contain this version. Previous owners of the software can upgrade by downloading the v2.16 upgrade on BVRP's web site, and then using the built-in "LiveUpdate" to grab the latest patches.

is there any way you can stop the backround from turning off after a while....??? no matter what i do w/ the screensaver, the screensaver and the everyting else shuts down...even when i turn off the timeout option??? any answers?? thanks...

Does anyone know if the v400 uses the same data cable as the t720?

I know they do share the same chargers.

Just curious about the USB data cables. eBay has some t720 cables for 50 cents! Saw some v300 cables for 10 or 12 dollars and they look identical to the t720 cables.

hey i am trying to find a clip or something to keep the phone away from my keys in my pocket. I haven't been able to find any kind of belt clip or case or anything.

Anyone know where i could find such a thing.

I just got my new V400 last week and have been noticing that I am only getting about 1 and 1/2 days of time on the battery before it goes dead. I had heard about some problems with the batteries on the first few batches of the V400's, but does anyone know if there is an update to fix this problem? Or do I need to go back and exchange it for a new one?

I have a picuture of my kids that i reduced to 176 x 220 pixels, about 8Kb size. I emailed to the phone, but when reading the message, it said the image was "too large to open". There are other pictures on the phone that are huge compared to this.

Does anyone know how to get this to work?

Okey okey..that was too much but I just went to the cingular store and bought the holster for this phone. it was like $16.00 .. thought everyone might want to know that they have it at the store they have to find it...for me it took them 30 and it was in a shipment that had a week ago and they did not open the box. Well you know what now they did...lol
