LG VX-7000

and I got to mess around with VX7000. I must say I was not impressed. It feels so cheap in your hand. I had been looking forward to it coming out since the beginning - so this really sucks. The external display only lights up when you hit a button - otherwise it's black. Even when it does light up the text is so small it's hard to see. After seeing echo's comparison pix with the v710 I started to change my mind about which phone I wanted about a week ago - today was only closure for me on the VX7000. The v710 does look better and I know it will feel more solidly built in your hands. Plus it's trimode and has bigger, better looking internal/external displays. god damn my verizon store is slacking (columbia, md) they said they werent selling the phone until tomorrow but when i was in the store i noticed posters all around the store saying (blowout sale buy on get on free) on a bunch of the phones....they really are cleaning out the inventory...hopefully somewhat of a good sign for the v710.

Has anyone tried using the recently released LG VX7000 with Bitpim yet?

It should work, because it says LG phones supported, it also says it should work with "...CDMA phones with Qualcomm based chipsets." Which is what the LG VX7000 is, I haven't gotten the chance to since I don't have a data cable yet, but I was wondering if anyone else had tried it.

Could anybody tell me when the $70 rebate expires (or when it has to be mailed in by)? I just want to know, cuz I'm trying to wait it out for the v710, but don't want to miss out on the (vx7000) promotion/rebate in the event motorola delays v710 release (again)!

ok so weve had this phone in for a while now and ive played with it quite a bit...other than the new menu style and color flashing flash and video what is so good about this phone....sorry to burst everyones bubble but its not all that good....its nice but not THAT nice...and you cant change the menu color away from red 😲

I have a hotmail and yahoo email account. With the mobile web if someone sends me a message to these accounts, will I get either a notification or the actual message on my phone?

Do I have to connect to my hotmail/yahoo account to get the message?

I love it so far!! The flash is pretty bright from what I can tell so far...even when its bright out. I can't wait to test it at night. The phone is pretty light in comparison to my last phone LG510 (POS). I'm still playing with it. I'll post a review later.

its listed as usb- capable. buy did verizon make it so that you can't upload free ringers of graphics to the phone by Usb. Is get-it-now the only way to get ringers on this phone??

What type of charger does the 7000 come with. Is it the bulky desktop charger, or something more slim line like the Mot's ship with?

LG 7000
Launch date is 7/1/04. Most stores received small shipments last week so supply is not huge in the stores right now. Belt clip is a swivel clip and you can open the phone with the clip on. This phone is pretty incredible to say the least. Any consumer who got their phone 2 years ago (moto 120/720/Startec...lg vx-510/1/10...kyocera 2135/2235/3035....nokia 5185/3285...etc) are going to look at this phone as a significant upgrade compared to their current cellphone. Phone length is a little longer but it is for the better because some phones on the market are so small the receiver...

just letting the group know that i purchased my vx7000 in los angeles yesterday on June 29. I got mine at the store at the beverly connection across from the beverly center. after a 70 buck rebate the phone price is 180 for a two year contract.

so far i love the phone but i don't know if i'm gonna keep it or not. i love all the features of the phone. but i thought i would be able to get my pictures off the phone with a data cable.

DOES ANYONE IN THE GROUP KNOW IF IT IS POSSIBLE TO GET IMAGES OFF THE PHONE (OR THE VX6000) WITH A DATA CABLE CONNECTED TO THE COMPUTER?

if the only way to get images off the phone is to email them to yourself then i think that is a big problem and not worth keeping the phone.
