Motorola V710

I guess there's a general sense that the v710 will be released before August. Just found something interesting on the Motorola website though that might intrigue some people. They're running a contest in Chicago. If you're caught with a Motorola phone by one of their spotters you win prizes. Anyways, I looked at the prizes you can win and First Prize for June and July is the v600. However, on August, September and December First Prize is the v710. Take it as you want, I don't want to fuel any of the flames, just wanted to share some info.

I saw your last post mentioning something about an internal volume adjustment for the T730 internally.

Since I have the 720 and they are pretty much the same phone can you give me some details about the instructions on how to tweak that, or tell me where you found the information.

Does anyone know if this phone has a QVGA screen? I'm pretty sure it doesn't so does anyone know of any phones for the US with a QVGA screen? Any help would be appreciated.

Since I have Bluetooth in the Acura TL, the handsfreeLink is the solution. As of now I have a T608 Sony-Erikson and the bluetooth is great in the Acura and non-existent in the Lexus- go figure...

Will a V710 be able to work with the current INSTALLED car kit that I have in our Lexus GX so I can have hands free in either vehicle.

Currently, the T720, and 730 use the Kit. Will I be able to use the same cradle and guts for the V710?

NOW HERE'S a real question to ponder?

This is for the MOTOROLA V710. any new rumors on a release date?

Given the big screen and advanced capabilities of the v710, I'm wondering if the system imposed SMS message lengths are still the same.

I'd like to dump my pager, but I don't like being limited to receiving/sending such short messages.

Sure wish someone would implement an 800 number that folks could dial, punch in my phone number and leave me a call back number, voice message, or dictate a text message.

Thats ok if they block my IP address. When you sign on with a 56K modem, your IP address changes everytime. Good try though. Better luck next time!

Question just to get this forum back to where it originally started. Does anyone know if you can change the style of the phone, ie. volume of ringer, without opening the phone like you are able to do with the v60? It's something minor yet I find it a small inconvenience with my t730. No one has to answer this question.

Does this phone include the new capability to add your own words to the iTAP dictionary?

Well since Verizon claims that they do not give information about a phone until the day before it's release im sure if some of us went to verizon today to ask they wouldnt turn us away without an answer IF IT IS coming out on friday.... just an idea

Like I said last week, upper management told me
end of June expected by Motorola. It's a stock concern, as in earning & shares, dollars and sense.

End of June, means they have 2 qtrs to move their earnings. Summer push with this round of phones, and Q4 for the next round of tech.

Also, if this phone bombs MOT, VZW stock is gonna have a new stock symbol ****. Both companies are being pounded by SNY-ERK, and Nokia. This has to be the big seller and the new flagship CDMA, so they can't afford to have another T720. That's why even for the slightest bug, the phone will go back and forth
for tweeks. At this point, it's only for software. But, if you have 900 thousand phones coming back for a software flash, Verizon stores get screwed, and ...

I'm new to the forum and waiting just like you all for the V710 to come out. I was wondering I signed up with Verizon Wireless in November of 2002. If this phone comes out lets say July 1st can I upgrade my phone? Or do I have to pay much higher price? Also If I have to pay more can I sign a new 2 year contract and get the phone for retail?
