GPS Devices
Does anyone know if the OS will suport an aftermarket program to run GPS. All of the regular PDA can do this.
I would love to have an all-in-one plus GPS for my car.

How Much!?
So there are quite a few people who actually have the phone in their hot little hands (lucky bastards)!? How much did everyone pay, and where did you get the phone (VZW store, in-direct dealer, etc)? I've heard everything from $449 to $499, to $700?

Just ordered the i730 as a Business w/only 1 line!!!!
Folks,
I just called Verizon at 800-485-1997 and ordered the i730. I did not have an account or service w/Verizon and only activated 1 line! You press option 1, then tell whoever answers what state you're calling from. Then they transfer you.
At first, the agent said that they didn't have it, then I told him that it had been released for B2B today and lo and behold, he found it in his database@ He initially said it was $484 w/a 2 year and $534 w/1 year. Then I told him that I thought there was a $100 discount if you get a data plan w/this phone. At first he said "No," then he checked w/his business department and came back and said I was right -- if you get the unlimited data plan at $44.99 a month you get a $100 discount,

had i730 training
🙂 just to let everyone know... the i730 is in testing this week in all markets. Good news is that its going to be out within the next 30days. Hands on this thing is awesome. I was going to buy a treo 650 but after I played around with this i had no interest at all in the 650. The really neat feature that I liked was that it carries remote control options to where you can control anything! The downfall, no camera. I asked about that and didnt really get a straight answer. It does have the wi fi for those of you that were'nt sure and it is impressive. Samsung is also releasing a new 2mega pixil camera phone for VZW and it can also record 1 hour of video. Any ?'s feel free to ask

Did any read the WSJ report on the SCH-i730 today?
There was a big write up in the WSJ today and a corresponding CNBC review and I was wondering if any one read the article? Did it give any good insight? Maybe someone has a account to see the article online and could post it for us all. Here is the link, I just do not have a subscription. http://online.wsj.com/public/search/results.h tml#SB111947578493366882
Placing my order tomorrow, homies!
I talked to my company's VZ rep today, and he confirmed it...the Sammy i730 will hit tomorrow for business customers! He quoted me $449.00 $479.00, 2-year and 1-year contracts, respectively. I stand corrected, too! I thought VZ would disable Wi-Fi (802.11b), but he said it's on there. Man...I'm a geek and I love it!

PRICE DROP ON 6600
😲
On the public site they just dropped the price on the 6600 to 399, down from 499 just yesterday.
Prep has begun.
No XV6600 on verizon site? Making way for i730 to replace it?
I just checked the b2b site, not sure if it's just my area or not, but they don't have the XV6600 there anymore. Not sure anyone else is getting this, but im in california. I just thought it seemed odd. '
'
Maybe the i730 is supposed to replace the xv6600?! well ill let you guys speculate, and fill me in. I got my phone yesterday guys, and let me tell you, it's awesome! too bad no camera =(

Camera Option
In the past three days I have spoken to two different sales reps at two different verizon wireless locations. They both have told me the exact same info. They say that the i730 will be released with both a camera and none camera option at the same time. Not only did they say there WILL be a camera, but it will be 3.2 megapixel. It sounded impossible to me since the highest out now is under 2 megapixel. I figured the first guy was just confused, but the second rep assured me that this is true!

Blackberry support?
Does anyone know what this means exactly. I noticed in the specs under email client it lists BlackBerry as one of the protocols. I can't find any other reference to this online and wondered if this was a rumor or a third party plugin or what.
I also just talked to my Verizon Rep for our business account and she said that they are telling her that June 23rd is the magic date for business/enterprise users whatever that means. I don't know if they will start taking orders on that date or just use that date to announce an official date or what.

Got 650 want I730
so i knew the I730 was coming out soon, but i just couldn't wait for a new phone and had to go with the Treo 650.
The other day I see this is coming out on 7/7/05. Figures. So it is past my 15 days with my Treo ( I think I am at 22) so I can't return it.
??So I will have to sell it or if anyone wants to get the I730 and make a trade for a Treo 650 let me know???
Maybe you all know another plan/option? Thanks

I work for verizon wireless
Yes the I730 has wi-fi and also have a wi-fi display on the screen to let you know when your on located next to the broadband display
Dimension Q: Need to know Screen Size
I know that the info of the i730 is that its dimension is:
4.49" x 2.28" x 0.97" (114 x 58 x 25 mm)
Does anyone know the actuall Screen Size dimension?
I have some old screen protectors for my Palm Tungsten wondering if they might be compatible.
Does anyone have any other suggestions for screen protection for the i730? The Vaja case looks cool but pricey.
