what is the significance of wifi? what is the special thing about it and how do I use it effectively?

I am trying to sync Money 2004 to my phone as I was able to do on my Treo 650. Any software that I download says it is not a valid PPC program. I have tried Pocket Money and also one directly off of Microsoft's website. Any help would be great. Thank you in advance.

I have installed TCMP.. but I only get the picture no sound. I have been reading a lot of forums... and everybody says go to The Core Media Player site.... what is the correct way to install and does anyboy have that MPEG4 AA0 file they saying was left out... Please, Please help... I went from the treo 650 where I could look at movies to buying this awsome phone... in which I can't... I also know that you maynot post the file here... but I can be emailed @ [email protected]

Alright, I've done all the reg edits, and have a finely tuned machine, but one thing has managed to elude me to this point. I've never been able to receive picture messages. I've never really tried to until a budy of mine sent me some pics of his new baby and I find, I cant view / retrieve them. Any help would be more than appreciated....Thanks in advance.

Previously there was a great option for people with xm radio. If you subscribed, you could go to http://www.xstreamxm.com/mobile and use it to access the xm radio.

Now if I try to access it goes to the windows media file and gives an error command such has 'corrupt or not supported' I've done a full reset on the phone but with no luck. Any suggestions?

Also does anyone know a good music/radio site for the pda? yahoo music is useless too because of the search keys.

So I just got rid of my BB 7250 for the xv6700. As on my old 6600, the call volume on both the speaker and on bluetooth (on my HS850) is extremely low. Are there any reg edits to make these louder?

okay, I expected the device to lock up every now and then....but sever times a day!!!! I did notice that when it looks up, if I pop the mini-sd card out it actually unfreezes the device. Its still a pain in the rear. Any advice out there.....and 1--I do make sure I don't have excessive programs running--2 I use san disc mini sd 512(only has WMF, word files, adobe reder, and pictures) 3--the only registry edits I did was the 2 to take off text messaging notices and 1 that enables wi-fi/phone. Please someone save my phone.

Couple of questions on the 6700 before I get one...

ringer quality - I'm a man that likes a real loud music tone. How's the phone with music tones?

music quality - can it play music with out having head phones in?

call quality - anyone with alltel...how's it sound?

haven't used text on it yet, is it easy to use?

I would rather have my left soft key asigned to speed dial instead of the calender and the and the right one for call history, possible a small pop up menu sort of like the Treo 700w. I am sure there is some sort of registry edit out. Can some one help me?

I bought a 1gb mini SD and loaded all my games and music, and I was very happy. This morning I was playing one of my games I had stored on the mini SD, an hour or so later I was on my way to work and I noticed it was missing. It must have popped out some how. So, before I go and buy another one I want to know if this has happened to anyone else.

After dealing with the V710/E815 for coming up on 2 years, I am sick of it, ready for a change. My last phone was purchased outright via reimbursment from assurion (crappiest company ever). Assuming Verizon will work with me on the whole $ issue, I am looking at getting the XV6700, but have alot of questions about it.

No surprise that Verizon has cripled the phone, no surprise that the hackers are ontop of things...
I see that the wifi/phone issue is easy fix, but has OBEX been done? Or atleast BT syncing of contacts & calender? I can transfer data over SD if it came to it.

Is there an easy way to lock the screen? I carry my phone in pocket and dont want random dials.

Has anyone been succesful with a BT GPS reciever?

Using the registry edit for the Verizon 6700. If i enable the wi-fi and phone using the registry edit....will I get charged for Kilobytes usage? cause im a little nervouse for the bill....also anyone run into any problem taking away the SMS bubble that says "message sent"...i've been able to get the message for double text message that comes after sending. Also anyone know if picture messages or video messages through MMS(verizon) is billed and pics/flixs or as Kilobytes sent?

Can you lock the numbers when using the QWERTY, or do you have to press the red button before each number?

I have just purchased the XV6700 from Verizon. This is new to me and I need some suggestions for resources to help me discover the uses and power of this device. The phone manual is an obvious start, but I've already discovered one icon on the phone that's not in the manual. This Phonescoop forum will be another help. Please suggest books or websites to help me get the overall mindset of how these PDA/Smartphones work and how I can optimize the use of it? Thanks in advance! The salesman at the Verizon store really likes Phonescoop and advised me to make a post like this to get info.

Okay i just picked up this phone and i do like it but a couple of concerns. Is there any way to set it up where when I send out a text message it WILL NOT send a reply saying delivery sucess? (this is a pain in the...you know what)
Another major quesiton. I cannot get my Voicemail # to automatically call and drop in my password. When i hold down the 1 is calls my voice mail *86.....but how can i give it a few hard pauses, # then my passowrd and # again. I cannot get it to recogize. If anyone could help me out i'd greatly apprectiate it. One last thing....anyone know of any free voice dialing command that are out there. I've heard that most of them are not bluetooth supported? anyone know anything about that....thanks friends

i just got this phone so forgive if this has been covered...is there a way to make the alarm work better sound wise? The phone offer small lil sounds and they just wont cut it when im depending on it to wake me up. Hope there are ideas...
