Best basic Sprint phone?

My wife has to get a Sprint phone for her job; well, her new job is buying her a Sprint phone. Anyway, she just wants a phone, nothing special. The mains things are: reliability, and reception strength (she travels in rural areas quite a bit). I'm kinda leaning toward Sanyo or Nokia - is that about right? And what models?

She's used to navigating Nokia, but she can learn a different make if the phone is better.

Thanks in advance,
~S~

How do you download/ play CD music on the Blade A900?

I am able to download music from my PC to my Blade (Music source being CD's burned to my computer). But when I go to play the music on the Blade it says it doesn't recognize the format--And no music plays. I start in 'TOOLS' from the Blade menu and proceed to hook up USB to PC, and device is recognized and all that. The SYNC feature of Microsoft Media player works fine, and is even set to format the music in the device's preferred format.

Can anyone divulge the "SECRET" to DL'ng music to the Blade so it can play it. Sprint obviously has no interest in making this info easily accessible in spite of the Blade's advertised ability to play music you DL to it. $2.50/song from Sprint? NO THANKS!

Okay is there a way to get a hacked version of the Telenav?

Where would I find the jar file for the telenav navigator, I've seen where you can upload it to your phone and can use the vision, and not have to pay the 9.99 a month. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Sprint Pin Drop

Hi. I was wondering if anyone has a sound file of the Sprint Pin drop. Ya know, the one that makes that "Bing...!" sound. Anyway, I would like to make it as a ringtone or something, so if anyone has it, I'm interested. Thanks 🙂

Vibrate

This is going to seem like a stupid question but are there any Sprint phones that they now sell that will vibrate the first few rings and then ring? I now have the Sanyo 7500 and hate it (just switched to Sprint from Verizon).

Thank You,
Glenn

Sprint/Nextel reports 4th quarter earnings

wireless unit:

arpu= $63
data arpu= $6
churn= 2.1%
total net adds= 2 million subscribers
746,000 postpaid
624,000 prepaid (boost)
and 651,000 wholesale channels

boost's arpu and churn= $37 and 4.6%

for 2005= net adds are 6.8 million consists of 3.4 million on post paid and 1.5 million under boost mobile (prepaid) and the rest under wholesale channels.

nextel partners also did well with adding 105,000 net adds and 2 million for the year 2005. they are obviously being bought out by sprint/nextel and will close this year. antitrust already have approved the deal. sprint also bought out other affiliates in 2005. power vision was a huge success covering more then 150 million p...

The year of 2005 for Sprint

For the year 2005, net adds were 6.8 million which consists of 3.4 million on post paid and 1.5 million under boost mobile (prepaid) and the rest under wholesale channels. In addition, for the year 2005, total wireless subscribers on the sprint/Nextel network totaled 47.6 million.

I think in 2006, we will see another great year for their wireless unit as their ev-do service called Power Vision, which is a huge success so far, increases the footprint, the cable deal, dual mode phones, and other developments come about.

Should be an interesting 2006 and a great job for the wireless industry as a whole in 2005

4th quarter mix for Sprint for net subscriber adds

sprint had a great year this year in 2005 and i would like to just to outline their last quarter when they reported which was quarter 4.

Total sub adds= 1.928 million
consists of postpaid= 746,000
consists of prepaid= 624,000
consists of resellers= 558,000

as we can see, sprint was second behind verizon for total subscribers net gains, 2nd in postpaid adds, 1st in prepaid and 2nd in resellers.

I have a question. I was at a Sprint store in my area and a rep told me that if I added a line to my account and swapped the phone i just added to the number i had before adding a line, that I could cnacel service within 30 days and be charged just for my usage and no ETF. Is this true??

Network coverage

Does anyone know when Sprint will be expanding CDMA coverage into Nextel native network areas? It seems like Cingular and Verizon are the only carriers concerned with a nice large coverage area...
So hopefully Sprint has been working behind the scenes to get more customers by adding towers.

Holy PRL Confusion Batman! ( Sprint Service Lacking)

Hello. It's me again and I'm having the exact same problems I had earlier with getting my account flagged for a PRL update.

Last time, after I had just bought the phone I had to call in a bunch of times in order to finally get to someone who knew what PRL update was, how to flag an account for one, and was actually able to flag my account for one. Most reps would try to tell me I was up to date and did not need one. This was inaccurate.

Now in the present, I find myself in the same problem. I have PRL version 10029. It has come to my attention Sprint released version 10030 in early January.

I have called in over ten times now. Four of the reps had no idea what a PRL update is. One told me that I would need to go the store t...

How to block calls

Hi there. I am wondering if anybody knows of ways to block incoming calls by phone number. I have already set a specific ringtone for a company that calls me everyday to bug me about a bill which is in dispute. I ignore the call. But even this is getting to be annoying. They use the same number all the time, so by blocking that number, I will be free of this for a while, at least. Is this possible at all at the phone level, or maybe even at the Sprint systems level???

I have a Samsung VI660. On an unrelated note, I am considering switching to another carrier, or staying with Sprint and getting a new phone.

Thanks!

Answering the phone on 8300?

Why is it when a call comes in....i pick it up to answer it and i find myself saying "hello" 2 times becuz it doesnt connect as i pick it up. Is this just a sanyo problem or should i try a samsung like the a920?

and another note...does Sprint ever get the PCS to PCS minutes used correct or do they always have to credit the bill becuz "the system isnt working?"

Thanks,
Kane

Good Credit with address change?

I went to best buy and tried to get an account with sprint under my name. I used my old address. She did a credit check and it was fine, but when she went to activate the phone the sprint rep onthe phone told her that i had to wait 12 hours for my credit to go thru. But i went to Radio Shack and they activated my phone in 15 mins. And i used my new adresss. So 2 weeks into my service i get a letter in the mail to my old address saying my credit wasnt good enuff 4 their service. This was a confusing situation and i wanna know what happened. Did this happen to any1 else?
