Hurricane evacuee asked Sprint to change plan w/o new 2 yr contract - no can do

I'm a 6-year Sprint customer with an account covering a line in the 512 area code and one in the 504 (New Orleans) area code. The 504 line is my brother's line, he is evacuated from N.O. to Houma, La. and is trying to run his life and business from there. I am finally back home in Austin after being evacuated from New Orleans through the Convention Center. We are relying on Sprint to keep in touch.
I called Sprint to ask to change our plan so that we would have more anytime minutes (250 each now, with 40 cents a min for overage). Spoke to an operator, then to Ryan the floor supervisor. Sprint will not allow us ANY change in the contract without a 2 year contract extension. I proposed that they extend contract to December 05 and explain...

Can Sprint provide a better plan then my Verizon one?

I'm on Verizon family plan.

2 Lines 1400 mins for 89.99

Unlimited 'IN' calling
National Long distance both lines

I find myself using most all my minutes.

HELP THE PEOPLE IN NEW ORLEANS!

Hey for all of you that work in a call center...I was reading in the lounge and someone had a good idea. You know how you get points for being late and stuff like that? Well yall should organize a drive where if you bring in a case of water or food then you get 1 point back up to 5 points and everything is sent to NO. Please relay this on to your supervisors. I feel really strongly about this...These are AMERICANS DYING!

Day 1 has arrived

well, day 1 has arrived. (officially with the stores on september 2nd)

mobile to mobile is $5/m.

there are new plans for both sides.

there will be no fees transfering from nextel to sprint or vice versa, but if you are in the nextel partners areas as well as sprint affiliate areas you have no luck. (you would have to pay those fees)

any questions please ask.

A nice Article About Sprint-Nextel.

http://today.reuters.co.uk/news/newsArticle.aspx?typ ... »

"NEW YORK (Reuters) - Sprint Nextel Corp. could cut the price of its high-speed wireless service after bigger rival Verizon Wireless slashed its price by 25 percent, a top Sprint executive suggested on Wednesday."

"But Lauer noted that Sprint, which bought Nextel Communications this month to form Sprint Nextel, has historically derived the highest percentage of service revenue from data services even with slower network speeds.

Sprint's most popular data service is accessing the Internet on phones, with game and ringtone downloads ranking next, followed by text messaging and then th...

brand quallity

hear is a question for all the sprint retailers

there is on manufacturer out there that the hinges break more then any other manufacturer, there sodders break more then any other manufacturer, and there chargeing ports go bad at a rate of 10-1 compared to any other manufacturer. all this in one manufacturer.

based on those statistics would it be the best brand or the worst brand sprint carries?

Family Plans

Hey guys,

I currently work for T-Mobile, but hopefully not for too much longer...after I leave, I'm looking to switch phone companies because T-Mobile is spotty at best in my house. Other than that, I've been pretty happy...we have a lot of friends that have Sprint, so it is definately an option, and when I had sprint before (some years back), I liked the service.

I'll be porting 2 lines total...My question(s) is/are: Are there any family plans between the $70/mo plan and the $115/mo plan?

If you add Fair and Flex America (or any other feature for that matter), is it $5 or whatever the cost is PER line, or is it just an extra charge on the account. (I only ask because I was going through the online order process to see for myself...

CNN article on the merger!!!

http://money.cnn.com/2005/08/23/technology/techinves ... »

NEW YORK (CNN/Money) - Sprint Nextel, the company created from the merger of the two wireless giants, has assumed the old ticker symbol of Sears, the single-letter "S."

The 19th letter of the alphabet is apt since it is also the symbol of Superman...and Sprint Nextel has certainly been the super hero among telecom stocks lately.

Shares are up 7 percent this year and 40 percent during the past 12 months. Compare that to the three major Baby Bells. BellSouth (Research), SBC Communications (Research) and Verizon Communications (Research) are all down year to date and during the past 52 weeks.

Will Sprint (Research) continue to be the darling of the telecom se...
