Looks like Sprint isn't doing so well after all -- Get Ready For Another A$$ Kicking!!!!!!!!!!!!

"Verizon Wireless is on track to post another record quarter of net additions driven by back-to-school and family-plan additions, according to a report from Merrill Lynch. Based on more than 80 store visits in five markets, the firm said it raised its third-quarter net customer addition guidance for Verizon Wireless from 1.8 million subscribers to 1.95 million subscribers, and at the same time, lowered its churn estimates from 1.3 percent to1.2 percent.
"Verizon Wireless continues to deliver a strong and consistent quality message," noted Merrill Lynch telecommunications analyst David Janazzo. "Verizon Wireless stores stress that the carrier invests more in its network than any of its competitors."

Verizon Wireless posted an industry-re...

Unlimited Long Distance at Home for SprintPCS Customers

I was in a SprintPCS store a few months ago and a sales rep mentioned I could get unlimited long distance on my landline for $10/month from Sprint as a PCS Customer. I was in a hurry and didn't ask more details about that.

I already have the 50 free minutes a month from Sprint. Any Sales Reps out there know about this? Is this still available?

Sprint Nextel: Merger Ahead of Schedule (mentions synergies)

http://www.forbes.com/home/feeds/ap/2005/09/22/ap223 ... »

some snipits:

"Breaking down the savings, the company said $1.6 billion would come from increased revenue from improved customer retention and from being able to sell Sprint services to former Nextel customers and vice versa. An additional $3.7 billion would come from not having to duplicate network upgrades and from sharing cell towers; $4.4 billion would come from consolidating back office operations; $2.3 billion from smaller network operating costs; and $3.5 billion from savings tied to the company's larger scale.

"We're off to a great start," Gary Forsee, the company's president and chief executive officer, told analysts Thursday morning in New York. "We did hit t...

coverage?

i am still trying to decide if i should go to sprint. when you look at the sprint nationwide coverage map, it appears as though you will have service everywhere. granted there are dead spots and bad areas just like any other carrier. is the coverage map they show a true indication of service coverage? if so, why isnt the rest of the country on sprint network?

Who bought who???

I've heard Sprint bought Nextel and Nextel bought Sprint, which is it? Hard to tell with the looks of the new brochures and the website looks like a variation mostly of Nextel's.

roaming charge

I am thinking of changing my plan to either the free incoming plan or the other one, BUT...the plan I have now is nationwide, but when it says digital roaming it's extra. I don't see the option on the site to add no roaming, or on the new plan is that included to where I would no longer be charged extra for roaming?? Thanks for the help!

Can You Hear Me Now?Commentary

About 2 weeks ago i was traveling with my 2 younger brothers from charlotte, nc to NY City. We traveled north on i85 and i95. I found it so funny that both of them, had no service from durham, nc to richmond, va. They both had different phones on verizon. Not to mention the countless dropped calls they had while we were traveling near the NC/SC border. I found it so ironic, these two verizon wireless fanatics had to use my sprint phone so much. I never ran out of service. Also my sister in law, who traveled with us, also had no service on her cingular between raleigh and washington dc.

So i love to hear people say sprint sucks and their service is so great. I have been a sprint customer since 1997 and have had verizon, cingular, others, ...

Ok I changed my plan, but now I have a question for you experts :)

I changed my plan to the Fair and Flex plan, but where I live, I had to pay 5.00 more, its not included here 😢 , thats weird, I thought it was nationwide, same offers. So when my phone display reads "digital roaming" its no more charging extra right? What about when it reads "analog roaming" is that included in this or not?? thanks for the help 🙂
