Why??

Why are you all revealing what USCC is doing way before we do it? All a competitor has to do is read this forum and they can see everything that USCC is trying to accomplish strategically. Jack Rooney sent out an e-mail about a month ago concerning stuff like this and yet folks are still posting information that is supposed to be kept confidental and internally until launch date. I doubt the SEC appreciates this kind of stuff being leaked either.

I've appreciated this forum for a long while, but the amount of information that is given out way ahead of time is crazy.

I Like What USCC Has Become

Back in the early 90s, I was an Ameritech Cellular customer. These were the days of installed 3-watt analog phones, and only two carriers in each market. The simple solution was to force the phone to call out on the A side, and get picked up by Centel or Cellular One, etc. at a much lower rate. I re...

Bloomberg News
Published March 23, 2005

Shares of Telephone & Data Systems Inc., the Chicago-based operator of wireless carrier U.S. Cellular Corp., continued their climb Tuesday and have risen 7.1 percent this year.

TDS has posted the best performance this year among the 15 stocks in a Standard & Poor's index of phone-service firms. Cincinnati Bell Inc., formerly known as Broadwing Inc., is the only other member of the group to advance, gaining 0.5 percent....

the rumor-mill is heating up with a possible merger of these three companies. I mean its inevitable that u.s. cell would either merge or get swallowed up by verizon soon anyway!! 😳

LG 4270

Ok, now we've seen it. The question becomes does it have PTT? It doesn't look like it, so what is the second PTT phone(if any) that USCC is going to launch with its PTT service?

Easy Edge Problems

Im trying to use easy edge to download a few games onto my phone since they didnt feel like putting any on the v710 to begin with, but i have a problem. Every time i try to connect to easy edge it comes up with a message that says "Unable to retrieve catalog. Please try again later. (534)" I was wondering if there were any settings that could be wrong but i know that it works in this area because my mothers SoHo works fine with it

New coverage maps?

I was looking at the Central Region calling plans for Wisconsin and clicked on the coverage maps. How long have they been offering all of northern Indiana as home area in the local calling plans? Not just the little strip going from Chicago to Ft Wayne along US 30, but the whole northern part of the state now. Same thing in Oklahoma, they show about 90% of the state covered as local. Before it was just bits and pieces around Tulsa and Oklahoma City. Just wondering....

US Cellular Expansion

I have used US Cellular for two years as a work phone, but live outside of their calling area. Does anyone know if US Cellular plans to expand to west central Oklahoma? They cover central, southwest, and southeast oklahoma already and there are quite a few people very unhappy with the local carrier in the west central region of oklahoma. I would love to have US Cellular as a personal cellular provider as well as a business provider.

Everyone! I love how Nextel does the Push-to-Talk thing. Has anyone heard of USC starting anything like that?
