A Question about Back Up Assistant

I have a question when you purchase a new phone and download GIN BA does it save everything as is or only the name and phone number of a contact. For example I am asking like if I saved an email address or even a street address for my contacts along with its speed dial number does all of that info get transfered along to the new phone. Thanks alot everyone for your help. 😕

Verizon Outgoing Mail Address?

Not really sure if this is the place to be posting this question, but hopefully there are some tech people that can help me.

I have the Motorola Q9m with windows mobile 6.0. Long story short, one of the email's I have set up can receive messages effortlessly however according to IT, you need to specify your own outgoing mail server. For example if the incoming mail server was mail.yourdomain.com it would not work for the outgoing mail option (for some reason the mail server does not support this)

So the question is, does verizon have an outgoing mail server address that I can use to specify as the outgoing mail server?

I apologize for the confusion of this, its just that I leave on a trip tomorrow and I need to be able to recei...

new data plans

for all those herbs who keep running around these forums finding a reason to jump on verizon, the new data plans arent the reason your looking for.

the new data plans are nothing new to the competition since they have been doing this the whole time they have been around, paying for KB usage .....

the new part is we did the same thing, except......WE ARE 5 TIMES CHEAPER THAN ATT AND 10 TIMES CHEAPER THAN SPRINT WITH THE BEST DATA SPEEDS IN THE MARKET TODAY. Sprint LOVES to proclaim they have better data speeds, well if thats the case, explain your turnover ratio of 27 customers out and 1 in towards VZW. And ATT knows they dont have the speeds or pricing to mess with our services, all they have is an wanna be Prada phone that is abou...

Upgrade activation question

It was time so I upgraded all the phones on my line to 8350's. Activated my wifes and she loves it. I wanted to exchange mine for the red when it comes out. I places a call to CS and was told (at least that's what I came away understanding) that if I don't activated the other phones that I would get a bill for them. Is this true? I can use my old phone till the red 8350 comes out and then exchange a phone that has never had the box opened. I thought this would be better for VZW rather than have to sell a used phone or refurb it. Any thoughts? If this is true how much time do I have?

Thanks in advance for your advice

new data billing...hint its a rip off

sooo thanks to verizon's greed the nationwide plans are billing everything (well not everything, but the exceptions are few and far between) per megabyte ($1.99) which they also round up. the only way to get unlimited megabytes on a phone (not a pda/bb) is to have a VCAST phone, there is no option for a non VCAST phone...supposedly its good for us reps b/c we can sell more data, BUT not everyone wants a VCAST phone and yes its my job to talk them into it...but to be honest i don't like to sell things to customers that they don't need and won't ever, ever use...some people hands down don't want a to pay that $15 a month, but still use get it now quite a bit...which will be billed as megabytes...opinions anyone?

Verizon hates google, open networks, and America!

Good for Google Sprint and T-Mobile for soon to be providing open hand sets! Of course this goes against verizon nazi loving approach so no go for you guys 🤣 🤣

Pearl 8130 great so far but one huge bug !!

BUG 8130 VZW Pearl:

When using bluetooth and the phone is in the holster and you voice dial, the dialer says it's calling and it simply drops the call and never dials it.

Yes, you can receive calls with the answer button when its in the case but no dialing. We checked all settings and something is very wrong. If you slide it out of the case and use the voice dialer, it works great.

Thanks

Why is Verizon behind the times for PDA's releases???

I have been a Verizon Subscriber for many years now and why is it that I can go on Cingular's website and find 13 PDA/Smartphones and verizon has only 8. But in that 8, they have an old no good Blackberry 7250 and 7130e, both are old. Then throw in the old UT 6700 and basically your picking from their newest blackberry, very nice looking or a terrible quality Moto Q. Believe me I have it and it sux. So basically you can either buy the Treo, the Q, or the newest blackberry. Does verizon not care about the smartphone market?? It's terrible to see them spending their money on these damn T.V phones and service. Who gives a Flying Fig if you can watch T.V on your phone. No wonder most business professionals steer away from their company. ...

Sync from Outlook to enV or Voyager

Hello all,

I have a tough decision to make and hopefully the answer will make it easier. I currently have the i760 and love the ability to sync with Outlook my contacts and calendar. Can you perform the same sync function to at the very least get the calendar loaded up in the enV or better question would be the Voyager and the sync ability. If I can sync to the Voyager I may go back to a "regular" phone style device.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Bluetooth Video from new phones

Believe it or not, iPod video casts also Bluetooth push from the newer phones. Saw a great movie last night, American Gangster, downloaded the trailer from
http://www.americangangster.net/ » to my card, and pushed it over to some friends at lunchtime today. Worked real nice.

Works with Maxx, V9m, some LG's. Any new phone with Send Bluetooth.

Blackberry Phonebook Transfer

Hi

I was wondering if you can transfer Blackberry phonebook contacts to a car bluetooth system. I am having a lot of trouble with my LG and BMW with placing calls, but the phonebook does transfer. Have to get rid of the phone though, because I need about 15 times before I can make a call. Seeing as though I don't want a Motorola, I was considering the new Pearl. I understand though that it doesn't support OBEX like the previous World Edition. Does this mean that my phonebook contents won't transfer over? I would really appreciate an answer if anyone has it, because I have to get a phone this week and would like to know before I waste time and money on the Blackberry. 😕

Thanks
Amy

Basic Blackberry Question

I have an old (pre-Treo) Palm Tungston and a vx8300. Unfortunately both are dying (the 8300 won't hold a charge and the touch screen on the Palm is shot) and I'm sick of carrying two devices. I want to get a smartphone and am one of many with the i760/6800 decision. I never considered a Blackberry because some key professional software wasn't offered on that platform. Now one main program will be BB compatible and am now considering the Pearl or Curve when they come out (I don't need the dual CDMA/GSM version). However, having never used a BB device and being used to a Palm OS, I'm not 100% sure. For those with familiarity with both systems (or windows mobile), what,if anything, am I losing with the blackberry (aside from a touch scree...
