Why Haters love to hate VZW

(They) = AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint and Alltel

I have to hear it from all the VZW haters...but here are my reasons why people hate on VZW..

AT&T customers say: we have the biggest customer base blah blah reason they do is cause the buy every little company they can...I hear everyone cry about how crippled the BT is OMG STFU already with it. I'm willing go give my right eye to bet that you will not use that BT to it's full ability.... so why does it matter to you if it's cripple?

They say VZW has lame interface ....I say it's great you have no idea how many customer come in wanting you to show them how to use their phone...it's as they say, give a man a fish he will eat for a day. Teach a man how to fish he will eat for a lifetime......

i760 vs. Voyager vs. XV6800

I'm getting ready to dropping Nextel and go with a PDA phone from Verizon but, with so many phones coming out to compete with iphone I'm not sure what to go with. Should I wait for the XV6800 that seems will never be released or go with the i760 that looks great with some complaints about button positioning or the Voyager that is so new no one really knows anything about it. I guess it all depends on what I need. Well, this is going to be my first PDA and what I need is the following; Blue-tooth, WiFi, good web page viewing, e-mail, send and receive pictures and video, etc. I want to make sure I get the right phone and the best phone now so, I won't have to buy a new one in 6 months. Any help or opinions is greatly appreciated.

Price per MB - regular cell vs smartphone - insane!!

Let me get this straight. If you have a cell phone and use the Mobile Web, you'll pay $1.99 per MB.

If you have a Smartphone or PDA phone, you'll pay more than $15 per MB! ($0.015 / KB)

That's INSANE. What the hell is going on??

Voip with EVDO and WiFi

I would like to combine a cell phone with WiFi.
I need the WiFi at home and work where I have poor cell reception but good Wifi access to internet.

I have looked at Truphone, GizmoProject, and Skype, but all seem to require GSM, sole carrier in the US is Cingular/TMobile, and are only available on Nokia N80 product line.

Yet in this forum, I see a variety of postings regarding successful testing of voip and evdo with verizon.

I could switch back to ATT, or use TMobile, but I get huge work related discount if I go with Verizon.

Is there a phone available that combines WiFi and EVDO so I can install gizmo project and communicate in style? Or is it back to ATT?

Saying goodbye...

My i760 is going on ebay. I've come to realize it's too much phone for me. I'm a recreational user. I don't really need all the windows os. One of the best phones I've used... so long. ☚ī¸

Vcast Mobile TV is the Sh*t!

Vcast Mobile TV is now live in Columbus, OH and I am trying it out on my Lg VX-9400.

it is the SH*T!!!!

I was not very excited about live tv on my phone I thought whats the big idea I have a 50" samsung 1080p DLP TV at home why do I care?

After seeing the Vcast Mobile TV for myself tho I am a believer. It loads almost instantly and does not buffer ever, its near HD picture, there is almost always something good to watch on it. The sound is loud and clear, and the Media Guide is great you always know whats on and whats coming up, it even has a description of what the movie or show is about.

It is a lot of fun knowing you can watch a 3 hour football game or an hour long episode of prison break or heroes (just an example) with NO BU...

LG Voyager phone and general VZW Plan help

Hi guys, here is my situation. Can you please tell me what you think I should do given my situation? Thanks in advance.

I am 5 mos. into my 2 year contract I signed back in June of 07 when i purchased my BB8830 with rebate. If I decide I like the Voyager whenever it hits the shelves (I am not going to pre-order), I might purchase it. I think I am aligned more with the Voyager than the BB as BB is more business oriented. I really really like the trackball function of it but that's about it, pretty vanilla compared to smartphone like Voyager.

Having said that, what are my options for purchasing this phone? will I have to pay full price for it? Is there any way I can just re-sign for 2 year contract if they give me disc. on the ...

CALL DETAIL AND TEXT AVAILABILITY???????

This is really not a bitch just wondering out loud. Why does VZW not have the call detail and text detail available on an up to date usage for the current month. I know you can view the minutes used and texts sent/received but you cannot view the numbers called/received or texts. If they can provide the somewhat accurate usage online why not the details??? anything in the works for that? Sometimes I need to check my kids calling and texting data before the billing cycle ends.

First impressions on the voyager

I just played with this thing and here are a couple of items.

Touch screen is very responsive and accurate. However, scrolling through the menus is a bit tricky and will take some time getting used to (took me 5 minutes personally).

I haven't had the chance to play with the web browser since the phone I got was inactive.

Here is the biggest issue. BATTERY LIFE SUCKS! If you think the RAZR battery was bad, oh man ... this thing won't even last a day. If you were to get this phone, get an extended battery (I think it should be mandatory for all purchases personally).

You can customize the dialing font size and style as well as the menu font size and style. The menu interface has only two customizable options, but the menu looks nic...

Billable data -- WiFi, EVDO, data plans - CONFUSED??

New Smart/PDA Phone user (i760)and I am CONFUSED regarding what is "billable" data.

I would appreciate it if someone could point me to an "understandable" explanation of the myriad of Vzw non-voice (phone) services. For example, the following service that are listed in various Vzw plans/features: EVDO (broad band access - is this the data access method?), Mobile Web/Web 2.0; Get it Now; VCast; VZ Access; Data Access for Email; Text Messaging, WiFi...........

As suggested in another post re "Disabling Data for Internet", I changed the Data Ntwk # from #777 to "garbage #". Is this EVDO?

Another post implies that using WiFi is NOT billable. Is that correct?

Sooo, with #777 access disabled and if I don't use Text Msgs is there any o...

Cellbrite cables

How the hell can they get away with charging $35 for a cable and $5 for shipping?

What a rip off for a stupid cable that we have to buy monthly.

Anybody have any sources to getting them cheaper?

Can you use the BB $29.99 Plan for Corporate Emails?

My company does use the BB Enterprise Server. However, alot of my co-workers with regular PDA's just use the sync/push software for their email. Will I be able to use that with the Pearl instead of signing up for the more expensive plan? Does BB provide similar software? I do realize that I may have to end up using a machine 24/7 that needs to be up and running to forward my email, but just wanted to know if it would be possible.

Thanks in advance

Cannot send pics/videos from my email(hotmail or gmail)?

Tonight I tried sending a pic from my e-mail account to [email protected] and I kept getting a Delivery Failure notice, it was not going through. (All pictures I tried were small enough in size, and even tried to resend some of the same things I have sent before successfully to see if I was accidentally doing something wrong, but even the ones that have worked before were not working this time)

I have done this for a long time and it always works like a charm, but tonight it would not work at all. Anyone have any ideas or have had this problem?

Just for fun a I sent a text from my gmail account to [email protected] just to test that, and it worked fine. I also sent a pic from my phone TO my gmail account, and that worked fine also....

Does anynone know...

..if the Voyager will have the multi-task while listening to music option likes the Chocolates? It's not a HUGE deal but it would be a nice feature to have.
I've been due for an upgrade for quite some time now and I think the Voyager is the phone I've been waiting for.
Any help would be great.
Thanks in advance!
