Corporate store and customer service on same system?

I went to my local store to inquire into an upgrage for a new phone. Prior to going to store I verified online thru "my account" that I am eligible for an upgrade at sale price as long as I sign a 2 year contract. When I went to the store I was told that I would have to wait until December for the upgrade. When I left the store I called sustomer service and was told I have wait until December '08 for an upgrade. I am confused as nobody seems to have an answer. Also the store said I can keep my same plan, which I have had for years, and cs advise me I cannot and have to choose an existing plan. I will buy a phone at retail if needed I could care less. The amusing part is that the CS rep stated "is there anything else I can resolve for you tod...

VZW Voyager Marketing

I've seen a few posts on here about the hype (or lack thereof) on The Voyager. I just thought I would tell you guys that Verizon has 1 huge billboard and 2 smaller ones next to it, at the entrance to Penn Station in New York. The big billboard had the 4 "next" phones, and the 2 smaller side billboards each featured the Voyager and the Juke. I was really excited to see some sort of hype, and thought I would pass it along. 🙂

Know how you can Tell the Voyager is "That Good" ?

because we have at&t reps/fanboys coming over here en mass trying to say it sucks. If it sucked why would they be worried about it?

Voyager is going to be the best phone currently out, Period.

Voyager = PERFECT

Like many VZW employees I recently got to play with the voyager and I just wanted to add to the hype by saying it is PERFECT. the phone is beautiful, the touch screen is flawless, they keyboard is prefect, its just prefect

I wouldn't change one thing about it, its flawless.

I created a text message using the touch screen front and T9, As fast as i could touch the "keys" it recognized every press with zero hours and just the slightest vibration to let me know it was pressed.

the screen is so vibrant and the Vcast Mobile TV looks AWESOME on the big widescreen.

this phone if marketed correctly honestly should kill the iPhone.

Blackberr PIN to PIN Messages

OK, I have known about PIN messages for years now.
Recently, my wife got a Verizon Pearl Blackberry and my employer has issued me a Sprint 8830.

We have been using Pin to Pin messaging for the past few days as an experiment to see how this gets billed. On my Sprint Online version of "My Account" it does not show up as text messaging and neither does it on hers.

So now the question is..............Drumroll please....... 😉

Is this billed as part of the unlimited Blackberry Data plans we both have?
Betcha this one stumps the experts here....lol

Online Promo Code?

I am upgrading my phone online and as I am purchasing it, I see a space to enter an "Online Promo Code". Does anyone know how I can get a promo code to use with an online order, or does anyone have one I can try to use?

Thanks!

Played with Voyager, Venus, and u900

The Voyager is alright. I'm not sure why it's getting glowing recommendations from everyone here. The touch-pad is pressure sensitive, not heat sensitive, which is a good thing. The only downside to that is that you actually have to press the screen instead of just touch it. It took a minute to get used to pushing down on the screen, but it was easy to use after a minute or two. There were a lot of similarities to the iPhone as far as the scrolling menus and that sort of thing. In the contacts, for example, you can flip your finger along the screen, and it will scroll through the contacts really fast. I wasn't impressed with the HTML browser. Instead of having a shortcut key that takes you right to the internet browser, you have to g...

Voayger vs Iphone

I agree the voyager is a cheap knock of the iphone. It does not have true html browsing. for a mp3 player ? how can a phone compete with a IPod. the touch screen on the Iphone is not as bad as people hyped up to be. Can anyone list some pro's and cons of each ?

Can someone explain this on Smartphones for me?

I'm getting ready to purchase a new phone, and part of me drools over the smartphones. I went in to the local Verizon store, and I was trying to figure out about pricing. I always assumed you just pay the 5.99 a month for mobile web, but they told me mobile web doesn't work on the smartphones.

When I added a smartphone on the site, it added 20 dollars a month for a data package. The verizon people said unless I was doing a ton of emailing, I probably wouldn't need it, unless I got a Blackberry and then it was required.

Basically, I don't use my phone a lot, I only have the 450 minute plan, and don't use anywhere near that, like maybe 45 minutes a month, including my in-network calls. If I just wanted a phone that I could occasional...

Verizon Blocking Ringtones?

I just got a replacement Motorola KRZR K1m handset after my old one broke. I had created a ringtone for my old handset that was silent for the first few seconds so my phone would vibrate before ringing the way my old V276 would. I sent this ringtone as an mp3 to [email protected] and it showed right up as a ringtone on my phone.

With my new handset this won't work. I had to convert it to an .mid, .amr or .qcp file for it to even go through, but even then it only shows up in my sounds and isn't available as a ringtone. Has Verizon changed the system to block this ability? Is there any way to get files from sounds to ringtones in my phone? Is there another work around other than using P2K and doing seem edits? I'd even pay for the rington...
