Voyager tip

My son got the Voyager on Wednesday. Tried as we might, we could not get it to "pair" with the Motorola IHF1000 car kit in his vehicle.

Calls to VZW, Motorola and the shop that installed the kit were not helpful.

Of course my last idea worked. I disabled auto connect under BT and then paired it, no problem.

Called VZW so they could add it into their db so others won't have to experience this.

Just thought that I'd post it here in case any of you have a similar pairing problem.

New phones coming out by Christmas?

Okay, so the Voyager is not working for me. Call quality is too muffled. Other than that, I love the phone but I can't hear people on the other end too well.

SO, what other phones can we expect anytime soon? Any new Motorolas? I seem to have better luck with those....

Why No Voyager For Me

I was really excited to upgrade to the new Voyager, but after examining the phone, I decided to keep my razr.

1) First thing I noticed when I entered the store was the finger prints all over the phone. Did not like that.

2) The thing is really big, and I always keep my phone in my front pants pocket. It is understandable that the extra size is due to the keyboard, but I don't do a lot of texting, so a regular phone keyboard is sufficient. I can't see myself lugging a phone that big around.

3) I use VZNavigator a lot on my razr. I noticed that the Voyager will only show the VZNavigator with the display in a landscape orientation and not a portrait orientation. I am not aware of a car cradle that would work with a phone that s...

Tips For The Verizon Wireless Customer

• Never get a 2-year contract. "The only benefit to a 2 yr contract is a $50 savings on your phone. Its not worth it. Take the $50 and get a 1 year then you can upgrade to a new phone every 10 months."

• Verizon reps get tons of money from new lines and certain accessories and text packages, take advantage of this. They won't let a new customer walk out the door. "Play hardball, they will do anything to get the new lines. VZW makes $ off the service, not the phones. Tell them you don't want to mail in the rebate. There does come a point of diminishing returns. For example, if you walked in and wanted a $39 plan and a free Treo 700, not gonna happen. But I have given away almost every non-PDA phone in the store for the right de...

Somewhat disappointed...

The auction on my i760 ended today. It only went for $405. I guess that's ok since I paid $150 for it. I even had a desktop charger and xtra stylus' too. Funny thing, now that it's gone, I kinda miss it already... ☹️

What I love about VZW reps...

(Myself Included) as soon as we get any info, we go blabbing it everwhere, whether it's right or wrong, and we refuse to be told we're wrong. For example, the gentleman who posted earlier who swears up and down the voyager does not need a nationwide plan, or the poster who claims you need the full $44.99 data package for the voyager. I love reading these posts cuz no matter what info a rep posts, no matter how many people have valid info to refute the original comment, the rep is always right. It's no wonder why people have misconstrued thoughts of vzw employees.

Another prime example, when the i760 was released, I had a customer who wanted it solely for wi-fi use. Before purchasing from me (indirect) he had been to a corporate location s...

i730 Wi-Fi issue

I already asked at PDA phone home but they said it was common, but offered no solution.

My i730's Wi-Fi is not working. I go to the Wi-Fi menu and tap "Enable" and OK. Then it freezes up and about 2 minutes later it says "WLAN could not started. Please soft reset and try to enable Wi-Fi again."

I've soft reseted and it doesn't fix it.

I really don't want to do a hard reset.

Anybody know?

I'm running 2003 SE.

Switching plans

I've been on a Family Share $170 plan since about a year ago. To preorder the Voyager, I first went to change to a Nationwide plan. However, I learned that the new Nationwide plan, equivalent to what I have now in minutes etc, came out at $190. Does this mean I'm gonna have to start paying an extra 20 dollars a month just to have the Voyager? (not to mention the extra 15 for unlimited data!). Is the Voyager the only phone that forces you to upgrade to the Nationwide plan? Or will it be all upcoming phones?

Lastly, I know it's been discussed a lot here, but I thought I'd ask for some fresh answers. My CSR told me I don't need to upgrade to Nationwide if I buy in-store. Is this true or was she just looking for a sale?

Thanks for your tim...

Just Curious

Has anyone tried the new animated messaging yet on pix place?

At first it sounded dumb. But after using now for a couple of days it is great. You can send messages to anyone with a video capable phone with any text you want.

So I just wanted to get some other opinions of what everyone thinks. I know everyone at work seems to like it 😁

Happy Turkey Day
