Verizon Down Payment Chart

I am done with being overcharged by Sprint (2nd stint, 6 months in) and am looking at Verizon as my saviour. The problem is this: I have no credit and my score is in the low 600's. How much of a down payment am I looking at here?

vz navigator

Hello All,

I was just wondering about the future of the vz navigator service. With good navigation systems now selling for $125 (I just bought a Tomtom one for that price), why would people keep paying $9.99 a month for service? What do you think?

Advantages of AT&T

Having worked for Cingular (in Oklahoma City) in the past and hearing a friend talk about Verizon (she is a veteran Verizon rep) I can say that Cingular/AT&T does have some advantages over Verizon:

1) Ease of phone activation. For AT&T activation of a new phone for a customer is always simple -- a rep just adds the IMEI number which activates the SIM card within seconds. If a customer wants to use a different GSM phone for a while they don't even have to call customer service, all they do is put the SIM card in the other phone and bang it works. No longer do AT&T reps have to manually program phones by putting in long sequences of numbers and changin things like the "NAM" and the "SID" (like they did in pre-GSM days) -- but Verizon r...

New plans

Now for you to upgrade your phone to a new phone that is offered by Verizon Wireless you will have to change your plan they are the same price just a different name. It is now called the Nationwide calling plan. However the plans do not change any features and the prices are the same as America's choice 2 plans.

plan comparison

Currently I have a smartphone with a national calling plan and a data plan. If I were to change phones and get a non-smarphone with all of the bells and whistles (navigation, internet, text, etc) how would the prices compare?

Thx,
Joey

8130 VS 8830? HELP!

I'm up for my new every two; currently have Treo 650 (Palm) w/Verizon. It's been good to me, but since switching to Mac very painful to sync. I'm ready for a bberry. I'm a small business owner and heavy email user, and would like to be able to view documents on the PDA is possible.

Torn between the 8130 (Pearl) and the 8830. My biggest concern with the 8130 is the Suretype and the funky, curvy keyboard. The 8830 lacks a camera, which I've grown to really like, but is a handsome piece of equipment. Also heard it lets you easily 'dial' phone extensions by hitting the trackball, which is huge; would like to know if the Pearl allows the same.

Anyone who has a Mac and can speak to syncability, much appreciated.

I'd love to hear from fol...

Verizon’s new phones set off alarm when you dial 911??

Saw this article, and was curious if it was true.

Verizon’s new phones set off alarm when you dial 911
November 26th, 2007 by Chris

How Verizon continues to make such strange choices with their services is beyond us, now they have decided to equip all of their new phones with a alarm that goes off when you dial 911. Considering that just about everyone who calls 911 is in some type of danger and a lot of the time enough danger to need to hide makes the addition downright confusing.
