Why a new contract?

Our two-year contract will expire in a couple of months. Verizon is already trying to get us to renew with 1500 free anytime minutes (which would actually be a pretty nice thing if we ever came close to using all our minutes in a month, which is probably why they're making that offer to us!) However, neither the 1500 minute deal nor new phones seem all that attractive to us right now. Is there any down side to not renewing the contract?

Bluetooth-LG8300 Please Help!!!!!!

I recently purchased a bluetooth headset (Motorola 505) for my LG 8300 and was told that I could listen to the music that I have downloaded to the MP3 player through the bluetooth, however, I am unable to do so. I went back to Verizon where I was told that it was definitely possible with these two products they just didn’t (couldn't/wouldn't) know how to “unlock” the phone/bluetooth to make it work. I was also told that many of their products have features that the "Average Joe" is not able to access unless they are "unlocked" but because they work for Verizon they are not able to give me that info. One of the guys told to just buy the new headset (jabra) that has the opption to listen to music but I don't feel that I should have to if the ...

VZW's PTT

Hey...this is a question for you "insiders" out there: will VZW re-vamp their PTT service
-or- will they scrap it?

It seems that they and the other American carriers don't want to support a PTT standard (ie. POC OMA)

This is Funny

I call Verizon to ask about upcoming phones and what now and the guy ells me, "Well...I can't tell you anything about any of that but there is a website called PhoneScoop.com that GUESSES when phones are coming out so check them out." I almost crapped my pants but even the big dogs know who has the correct and best info lol

Bluetooth

Just got a new cd player for my car that has bluetooth capability. I'm a Verizon customer and am about to get a new phone/contract. However, I've heard that Verizon "waters down" their products. Does this apply to the bluetooth? One feature I really want to use is to transfer my phone book to the head unit? Will I be able to do this with Verizon? Which phones?

I am the biggest VZW fan but I have to tell you about My Curve !

Guys

Most of you know me on the forums.. I have been a VZW Fan and lover since the beginning and I am not leaving but I have to tell you.

I went with one of my guys to the ATT store , he wanted to look at the Curve.. He switched from Sprint and bought the Curve 20 mins later..

So now we are leaving and I am feeling lonely and I kind of want a data device so I take one on a 30 days trial.. Played with it all night tonight and Oh my lord , this thing is beyond sweet..

I dont want to get into all the things it does right but I can tell you battery and Bluetooth and insanely good and those are my biggest issues with my LG 8300,8600 and 8700, I am having issues with all of them.. Love them but hate them 🙂

So when do we get Curve ...

Define "Crippled"

In my area T-mobile and Verizon are really the only options. There are pros and cons for each of them, so for me I think it boils down to which of the bells and whistles I might actually use.

So my question is this: When people talk about Verizon disabling a phone's features, which features exactly are they referring to? What, in layman's terms, would a T-mobile RAZR be able to do, for instance, that a Verizon RAZR wouldn't?

If I got a phone with MP3 capabilities, would I be able to upload music from my own collection, or would I be stuck downloading whatever music they have available at twice the going rate?

Why You May Not Want An iPhone

Forbes.com
Dan Frommer
6/11/2007

Give Steve Jobs credit: He's managed to get the entire tech community--and much of the rest of the world--talking about a pricey gadget that only a handful have seen or touched.

Apple's iPhone finally goes on sale June 29, and for many potential buyers, the only issue is whether they'll be able to get their hands on one, as it's certain to sell out immediately. But whether you are a music lover, a business e-mail addict, a mobile power-user or just a normal consumer, there are several good reasons to think twice about dropping $500 for the first-generation iPhone.

Will that be enough to slow iPhone sales after the initial rush? There are, after all, plenty of other...

Larger Contact List Fonts for the Visually Impaired ?

My neighbor is returning his Maxx and switching carriers for an unusual reason. He can't read the contact list without wearing glasses. He could with the Motorola E815 interface.

The newer phones with the QVGA screens ought to have a setting for that on the Verizon UI.

Might be joining the "dark side" of the force...

I have sent a few messages to the account manager of indirects for the Gainesville Florida area with no response. I contacted an HR rep for that region with the direct channel and got responses immediately. They checked my references and are very ready to get me on board. So, I might be joining the direct side.

The only other option is one of the owners of the indirect company I work for now is making me an offer. Front all costs to set up my own store in that area but he becomes majority owner...51 percent to my 49 percent in the company. However, it will be contracturally agreed that I run the business as I see fit. I get paid an agreed upon monthly salary and 49 percent of the quarterly profits. To all dealer principles on here...do...
