Bragging rights

Sprint people make me laugh... Here's the real EVDO/network facts: Verizon Wireless has the best EVDO network period. When Verizon Wireless decides to make a metro EVDO they cover the city, the burbs, and even rural areas around it. Sprint on the other hand only makes little piss puddles in metro areas and leaves the surrounding areas on their older network. Yes, as of now Sprint has more EVDO markets, but hello... have you looked at the future EVDO coverage map for Verizon Wireless??? It's going to kick the **** out of Sprint. Oh, and by the way, don't even go there with the 800Mhz VS 1900Mhz thing... 800 is far better because of one thing, COVERAGE. Why do companies put up cell towers? To provide COVERAGE. 800 penetrates into buildings so ...

Confessions of a cell phone junkie
10 / 09 / 06 | By Marguerite Reardon

Jeffrey Gordon is a cell phone addict, spending nearly $2,000 over the past year and a half to fuel what seems like an insatiable urge to have the latest and greatest in cellular technology.
Since May of 2005, he has switched carriers twice just to get the phone he wanted. First, he dumped Sprint Nextel for Cingular Wireless so he could get the Audiovox SMT 5600, a small candybar-style smart phone running the Windows Mobile operating system.

Less than a year later, he jumped to T-Mobile t...

insurance on 8100

Hi All,

I accidentally dropped my 8100 in water. I have insurance on my phone. Does anyone know if I will receive an 8100 or an 8300 as a replacement? I didn't really want to have to pay for a new holster or a new memory card or car charger. Any ideas or info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks all.

G'Zone Announced

An internal Verizon site has just announced the G'zOne Type-V. It is scheduled to be released online on October 16. All other channels on October 23. It comes in the charcoal color and not red. At least not as of yet

Couple of specs:
Water, Humidity, Shock, and Dust Resistant
2.0 Megapixel Camera w/ flash
VCast Video. No Music
VZ Navigator

The phone can be submerged up to 3.38 feet for up to 30 minutes. To ensure this, you must have the headset and charging ports closed. Also the battery door must be locked, and the antenna must be firmly secured.

Anything new on the 9900?

Getting ready to upgrade in a couple of weeks to the 8300, liked the 9800, but it was a little to big. Might wait for the 9900. Any suggestions?

Thank you.

Ringtone folders are locked now?

I just bought the K1m and can't add my personalized ringtones like I could before, with Motorola Phone Tools.

Is this a new policy, or a defect in the first release of the firmware?

Unliminted In calling on 1st two lines only?

The verizon web page shows that for family plans "First Two Lines Unlimited IN Calling AND Night & Weekend Minutes on All Lines"

Is this new or has this been the case for awhile? I currently have five lines on my family plan and all lines have unlimited IN calling. My contract is up in a few months and if I use the NE2 will the plan change to only allow the 1st two lines to have unlimited IN Calling?

Alltel's Chocolate Like KRZR commerical

I just saw a commerical for the KRZR and with the Goldfrap music (same group who did Chocolate's commerical) playing, colors, and effects you would think it was a VZW commerical until the very end where Alltel's name appears. Great marketing.

What phone (For new service)

Hi! From my previous postings you can see that I am switching from alltel to verzion! That is like moving from hell to heaven! Anyways I want your guys and gals opinions on phones. I need preferably a tri mode camera phone, under 60 bucks with new agreement. now I have a nokia 6255i and I love it, so i am leaning towards the nokia 6235i, but it is digital only right? Otherwise I like the nokia 6215i, but I dont want it if it has the new verzion UI. what phone do you recomend? Thanks in advance!

9900 Release Date!!!!

I was on Howard Forums and someone said they had seen internal info that the release date had been pushed back to Nov. 13. Is that accurate? I need a new phone with call clarity, reliability and BT without quirks but I am getting anxious. I do not hate the VZW UI but do not love it and music is not important. Was sort of waiting to compare the 8600/9900/KRZR. What do you think? Thanks in advance.

Sprint is betting Verizon with EVDO.

Read this at DSLReports.com Sprint is also encourging streaming of video. Verizon says unlimited is capped and thinking about going to metered instead of unlimited.
