How stingy would Verizon be?

My NE2 is up December 5th. I am looking to get the vx8600 as my next phone. If by some chance the phone comes out before my date, what are the chances that Verizon would let me upgrade? It's already almost November and I have no plans to cancel my service.

Q3 estimate for Verizon.

This time around, with the likely short-term issues at Cingular and the continued struggle at Sprint, I believe Verizon Wireless will again lead the industry in terms of net additions by the widest margin yet. My current Q3 2006 net adds estimate is just below 1.7MM. This compares to the 1.8MM it posted in Q2 2006 and the 1.9MM it did in the year-ago period. I believe the main driver of VZW’s growth will be the continued popularity of its family plans. From the results of our Channel Checks, it appears that VZW's store traffic was much better than expected. The survey also shows that Verizon is likely the biggest benefactor of Sprint's downfall. I expect VZW to continue to post the lowest churn in the industry at 1.2%, up slightly from 1.1%...

Stop with the "Get Alltel" posts...

Alltel is regional, Verizon and Sprint are national.

Please, just be quiet and go away.

VZW screwing the indirects.

Correct me if I am wrong, but if a customer purchases a phone and disconnects during the 15 worry free period, doesn't VZW ensure that the handsets are returned B4 they allow the customer to disconnect?

Also, why do they allow NE2 through direct channels only? Take a Samsung a930. Through Web sales VZW will discount the phone MORE then what they actually pay us in commission. So why have a higher cost to activate online where the human factor is removed?

Last...early upgrades. VZW will ACTIVELY solicite early upgrades but require the customer to go to a retail store, online, or telesales ONLY. Why?

GGGRRRRRRR. So aggrevated with VZW policy on screwing agents right now.

Make the money on data! Yeah! I will subsidize ...

Sound issues with BB 8703e, normal?

My husband got this phone about two weeks ago. I noticed that when he's talking to me, it seems to cut out. Sort of.

The reception is fine, but what happens is it sounds like the phone is to his face one second and the next, he's talking to me while holding the phone as far away from his mouth as possible. I can barely hear him. It does this erratically.

Is this a problem with VZW, or the Blackberry? Are Blackberries known for having sound issues (on the other person's end, his end he says is perfectly clear and loud)?

Not sure if we should exchange it as they're finally in stores now and can be easily exchanged, or go towards the Moto Q.

I think we have a day or two before the 15 days are up. So hope to get some answers soon. ...

SO HERE IS THE DEAL WITH THE 9900

Look for the 9900 in Mid Nov. reason is that vzw was short on 9800s a few months back now there is way to many 9800s in stock they need to move those before the 9900 can be released. don't be surprised to see a 9800 offer coming back up soon

Moderator Request: No More Crippled/UI Threads

This is more to see what y'all thought.

I wanted to suggest that the threads be moderated to remove any more additional 'I hate the UI' or 'Crippled Bluetooth' threads.

It's not that I fear and antiVZ sentiment but that they are clogging up the forum for other, more useful, threads. When you go to the page today, half of it is posts about this.

See, even that wouldn't be bad if there was anything new to discuss. Alas, there is not so it is no material value to have another thread existing about the same subject and the same combative post from both/all sides about these issues. There is just nothing left more than a 'it's not a big' or 'I hate VZ for the UI/Crippling etc' arguement that goes nowhere.

It's mucking up the more usef...
