AT&T owns the WOLD!

I have this regular customer that comes in once every couple of weeks an proclaims to all who will listen that AT&T owns ALL cellular services. He came to this conclusion when his brother who was an AT&T fiberoptics guy passed away, and our customer had to clean out his desk.
Aparently his brothers desk was located in the Verizon building in DC. So due to the location of this desk AT&T now owns all cellular services and has put in every standing tower todate!
So for all of you that squable over whos service is best, this puts all claims to rest. Its AT&T because they own you ALL!

Remember back when...

Just a few years ago the cool thing out there was changing a banner or soldering a different color led's onto the nokia's main board?

People would bitch that they couldnt change the banner or that they couldnt find a cool enough faceplate. Now poeple complain about the UI's or mp3's vs. windows format.

In a couple of years it will be something completely different that people complain about.

Just an observation, im bored.

EVDO vs EDGE

I have been reading alot of forums lately, and is it just me or do alot of people think that EDGE is the same as EVDO?

Isn't EDGE the same speed as 1xRTT?

I kinda find it funny when people complain that the phone doesn't have EDGE.

In my opinion, that would put some of the other carriers like 4 years behind VZW, right?

Tell me your thoughts on this matter.

v3x coming to verizon? (link)

First off, this phone looks awesome. Secondly, I noticed on their site it is listed as being compatable with gsm networks AND wcdma...is there a difference between cdma and wcdma??

Anyways, check it out, sweet phone:

$30 Charge on my bill for "unlimitedringtones.com". Verizon says they can't do anything about it?

ok so 3 yrs ago i was an idiot with at&t and paid 10 bucks for unlimited ringtones with unlimitedringtones.com ... after a while i switched carriers and forgot about it.

anyway the past month or so i got a text from the website giving me a password and saying i can download a free ringtone. i try, and it says verizon doesn''t support it, whatever. so i just forgot about it. then a week later i got another text from them...and it was annoying to i wrote them an email asking them to stop with the texts.

long story short, i see my verizon bill and they charged me 9.99 three times. verizon says they cant do anything about it. unlimited ringtones.com replied to my email and said that i signed up for the service in Decemeber.?

What can i...

T-Mob #1????????

http://rcrnews.com/news.cms?newsId=26878 »

Read the above link and comment if you’d like. The gist of the story is how T-Mob passed VZW to take #1 spot in customer satisfaction. I’m not a “Fan” of any wireless carrier and have expressed some dissatisfaction with VZW in the past. However, I guess a second-tier carrier who can’t pass the laugh test when they claim to have “national” coverage can become #1 in customer satisfaction if they kiss enough rear ends. They must be giving away a lifetime of free beer when you sign up for service?????????

These third party satisfaction surveys are BS.

Chocolate MP3s

here's an interesting question:

Will the Chocolate, "part MP3 player, part phone", have the capability of downloading MP3's to listen to and use as a ringtone, or will we have to pay for them, ala traditional VZN B.S.?

What has the last few phones been like, such as the Sam a990 and the 8300? I haven't checked up on them, but now that I might be interested in the Chocolate (check the reviews b4 you buy, people!) that seems like an important piece of 411 I want to know beforehand. Otherwise, I'm grabbing that 8300 that has been the rave so far.

Thanks!

data phones - no activation without data plan?

Has anyone had success activating a Verizon smartphone/PDA without adding a data plan? I'd like to activate a Treo 600 with Verizon and use it solely for voice.

Any current phones better than a Star tac?

I have been a loyal Verizon wireless customer since 1995 (ameritech back then. I have had Nextel, cingular, and sprint thru work. I feel Verizon has the best signal and customer service. However, I have tried many new phones, none of which can remotely get as good of a signal as the Motorola Star Tac I still use. My e815 can have no bars, while my star tac has 3. my e815 will not connect a call while the ST does all day long. I use over 4500 min a month for biz, I do not care about ringtones, cameras, or any other crap besides making and receiving calls. So here is my BIG question----

With all the technology today, why the hell does my 6-7 year old phone work (star tac) have better call quality and signal strenght than any other phone ...

Question

I recently lost my phone while away at school. I called up made an insurance claim and ended up getting one from them. A few weeks later after unpacking I found the other one. It's basically brand new and I have no use for it. Could you sell it or will it not work when someone else tries to activate it?

BOTH SERVICES ARE EXCELLENT (complainers & baggers, be quiet)

all you people who complain about cingular in the verizon forum and vice versa need to shut up...both companies do what most people want, provide PHONES WITH GOOD SERVICE...i have had both companies and they are excellent. they have good service everywhere...sure, verizon is better for rural and phones and other stuff is different but come on!!! most people who complain or bag on either company probably haven't had both!!! before you bag on the service find out what it is like and possibly test it...SO ALL YOU HATERS be quiet...both companies are excellent
