since it is a holiday today, is it considered free??

Have other people been getting as many of these calls today as I have? I must have recieved 10 so far.

I just scream NOOOOOO!!!!!!!! no, just kidding, I tell them nicely no, today is just a Monday.

Hoever I did have a guy call today and ask if today was Mermorial Day, I told him that it was just a normal Monday as his minutes are concerned.

Then he said "but today is Mermorial Day right", and still not understanding the question I said "well sir as your minutes are concerned, it is still just a regular monday"

then the guy said "no, I don't know what day Mermoral Day is.... is that today?"

I then said "yes, today May 30th is Mermorial Day"

"okay thank you"

PAR Questions....

I'm sort of new,so bear with me on my uneducated inquiries....

What is the deal with PAR? How does one check it?What happens if you don't,or you forget to document every transfer or call closing compliment each day and/or not send it to your TL? Will they walk one out the door in this case?

To all the regulars in this forum.. What call center/dept/market are you from? m/f? aprox age, and things like that? I read this forum everyday and some of you crack me up but I don't even knoe if some of you are guys or girls.. I'm in a Convergys call center in TN for C&A.. I'm about 25 πŸ˜‰ .. Married have one 3 yr old and my husband used to be in the army.. I like to play pool, drink beer, watch movies, reality tv (yea I know) and read.. How about all of you guys.. πŸ™‚

Phone compatability- ATT/cingular

Here is a real question from a layperson... I had an ATT family plan. My son lost his Nokia 3200 phone, and cingular tells me it is discontinued and I have to change plans and replace all of the phones. Is there a way to just replace his phone, other than buying one on E-bay? (I've had two bad experiences trying just that). What other phones can he use? What about 'unlocked' phones- would one of those work?

Cingular Forum

Does anyone in here go to the Cingular forum? There is a guy in there called cellboob that is driving everyone crazy. Let's hope he doesn't come here. He is constantly criticizing reps who are trying to answer his questions, and he's not even a Cingular customer. Kinda funny.

Slow slow day go away!!!

I am sooo board,the Halifax center is dead as Micheal Jacksons career(Not counting media coverage).I hope we have VGH today,otherwise I think that I will be the first human to overdose on boredom.There is hardly a soul here,what is going on? Sundays are usually slow,but not like this!!!

Red Deer Call Center... Read up!!!

Did you guys get this little piece of paper from the Convergys Organization Development about The Donkey Tale???

IT'S FRIKKEN HILARIOUS!!! They tell about the tale and continues on with the "moral" of the story and adds the FIVE simple rules to be happy.

You know what they forgot to put in there (if you guys did read the copy of that sheet)? The part that when the donkey got out of the well, HE KICKED THE FARMER IN THE FACE for planning on covering him up within the well!!! And you all know who the farmer (and his neighbours) represent! 😈

My Friend Sam (A CSR Story)

Let me tell you about my friend Sam. Sammy's a great guy. He works hard here at Cingular, and he goes above and beyond the call to help out a customer. His stats are low because he spends so much time trying to actually research an issue and help a customer, rather than just zip them on and off the phone. His managers look past this though, since he's a great guy who's very knowledgeable and always does his job. Hell, he hasn't missed a day of work or been late for four years.

Like most CSRs, Sam makes just enough pay to get by and takes a lot of hell from most customers, even though he's trying to help them. His motivation for being patient and continuing to work hard is the fact that he recently started a college fund for his daughter,...

Those were the days...

What the hell has happened to this forum?? Ever since ATTWS fell on the sword of Cingular this forum has been reduced to a sad little sideshow...I miss the ATTWS forum of old when Verizon and all the other carriers used to come in here to try to start trouble and ATTWS fought tooth and nail with them. But now...how times have changed... 😒 Oh well just thinking aloud mates sorry. πŸ™„

One hell of a childish, rude woman...

This customer calls in, I get the number and I thank her, she responds back as if I insulted her. Pushed aside, number doesn't come up so I ask if her service is GSM or Digital. That pushed the wrong button as she stated she doesn't understand my internal lingo and wanted to speak to someone who speaks English.

I ask to place her on hold, wow what an epic question to ask as she goes straight into saying over and over, "I want to be transfered to someone." I kept responding with, "I need to place you on hold to transfer you." She kept cutting me off and calling me rude, yeah, right back at you woman. She got my name and I didn't even get heir's.

All the more better, call gone, no longer have to worry.

I gave up and just placed her o...

call closing pilot

what does everyone think of the call closing pilot? I haven't done it once because I can't bring myself to Humiliate and embarrass myself for the sake of fishing for complements when half the time or more the customers are going to be rating β€œthe company” and not the rep’s service to them. Furthermore, I feel that this new flavor of the month from cingular violates more than one of the β€œvalues” the con expects us to follow very seriously but when it comes to money, the values go out the window but we are still expected to follow them which doesn’t make a whole lot of sense.

People Never Cease to Amaze me!

I have yet another example of people who need to realize that we are not Philanthropists, Cingular is a retail business not a communtiy service!

I just had a call from a man who was wanting to add another line to his shared account (on Blue). He was wanting the additional line to be $9.99. The converstion went as follows:

me - "I'm sorry Mr. Customer but currently you are on the Sharable GSM America National Plan for $59.99, and the promotion for that plan that made the additional lines $9.99 has ended. So unfortunately we would be unable to give you that price with the current plan that you are on. However, if you would like to change your plan to the $69.99 plan we can give you the additional line for $9.99 and you will get 1100 min...
