How do I use the 8525 as a modem?

I recently purchased the cingular 8525 and would like to use it as a modem for my laptop. I have recieved the instructions from cingular on how to do so, but its not very good at explaining how to do it. Is anyone well versed in this area that could help me? Firstly it says to make sure that under the phone settings that wireless is turned on. is this wireless LAN or what? The first person at cingular that I talked to said I would have to download cingular communication manager. so I did only to find out that the 8525 is not compatible with comm manager. I need help!!!!!

My dad wants a new cell phone from ATT. All he is looking for is flip phone with a loud ringer, good battery life, and a good signal. He doesn't need any bells and whistles. Any recommendations?

pda/smartphone coverage vs phone brand coverage

does anyone know or have seen a difference between like an LG phone and a windows based phone?

Or even, say a Samsung branded PDA and a Samsung phone?

Is there a diffence between the reception on a PDA running windows than a normal OS on a basic phone?

What's up with Cellular One and AT&T??

My sister in law is a Cellone customer and her contract is up in a few weeks. If she wants to renew under Cellular One, can she? Her boyfriend keeps saying that his AT&T work phones sucked when he had them which was up to a few months ago. AT&T is working great for me, but she has a doubt as to what she wants to do. I told her she had up to 30 days to try out the AT&T service and cancel if she wanted to.

But I want to know how the Cellular One side is going to continue. Are they going to upgrade the system so that it's AT&T? Are they going to eventually terminate those systems? Keep them going? Thanks.

How Good Is The Nokia 6555???

I was looking at this phone. Some people have said that the phone battery life was horrible but that there is a way to turn off something to conserve the battery life. Any info would be appreciative.....

AT&T, just plain dumb

I really don't like calling anyone, or, any company "dumb", but in this case, sorry AT&T, it is well deserved.

We use VZW for our cell service. I also carry an AT&T Blackberry as this way I am reasonably sure that wherever I travel, between VZW and AT&T, I will be able to make a phone call, plus, I have yet to find one device that meets all of my needs.

Shortly after signing up for AT&T I learned that I could not have online access because we are a business account with just one line. Huh!?!?!? Ok, I let it go, not a huge deal.

When calling someone's mobile number I regularly use VZW's and AT&T's "mobile to mobile" look up tool to determine which device would be best to use to take advantage of the "in" calling program.

Imagine m...

BlackJack II options

I am debating on getting a Blackjack II but wanted to ask a few questions about it. My husband has a Blackberry Curve and there are all kinds of theme downloads and customization options available for it. What I am wondering is this true for the BlackJack II? Can you download themes for it as well? If so are they free or do you know how much they cost? Thanks in advance for the help!

SE W580i vs. Nokia 6555

Oy,

I'm about ready to retire my trusty Nokia 3210 (or at least keep it as a back-up) and sign up for a contract extension. I've posted here 'n there before and I just got done scanning through the past ten pages of threads on the AT&T forum.

Am considering going with either a black SE W580i or a Nokia 6555. I've had two Nokias thus far and have really liked them... I only wish AT&T had a Nokia similar to the 6555 but in a candybar form factor - not a big fan of flip phones, though I've never actually owned one. (The 2610's screen doesn't do it for me, otherwise I would've kept it on my short list.)

Of course, the 6555's short battery life is a consideration, but I'd use the phone only for calls and occasional text msgs... I woul...

Which cheap phone works best?

I need some help in picking out a temporary cheap (free 😉 ) phone from AT&T. I'm debating on these four, Nokia 6085 or 6126, Pantech C150, or the SE Z310a. Can anyone tell me which one is the best out of these choices? My only main needs are good reception and voice quality. Could really care less about anything else.

Any other recs would be great to, these were the only ones AT&T had for free right now on their website.

Tilt Question

Hey all,

I just received a new Tilt and it was working fine until I installed Blackberry Connect. The program installed itself and then said Press ok to reboot device.

I did so, and the phone rebooted itself, but now it won't load past the blue/green Windows Mobile screen.

Is there any way to wipe it out by connecting it to my PC (Active Sync?) I've tried removing the battery several times and it still doesn't load past the WM screen.

Thanks! ☚ī¸
