Can someone explain which one is best? I have read that QVGA is smaller than VGA. But I gathered that QVGA has better quality than VGA. How is this possible? 🤨

Does anyone know when Cingular increased the size of a file that you could send via MMS? It used to be 100kb, but I received pics today that were 450+kb in size. I think that is awesome.

Why has it taken so long for Cingular to get the 3G network up and running over there? NE1 know?

Had a meeting this morning and I had the chance to spend 10 good mins with the coveted 8525. In just going menu to menu it blew the 8125 away!! The back lit keyboard was just great. The ability for PTT when it launches is awesome! 3G its there and it rocks! The only thing it didn't have is built in GPS, but hey beggers can't be choosers! est. launch in about 2 weeks!! can't wait, but then again im looking at the pearl as well..... but yeah i was one of the first to touch it 🤤 i feel accomplished...............

That Mobiradio is unavailable for us who have unlocked phones. I tried to purchase it (seems like that went through) then download it but it wouldnt let me download it. I tried to find the section on my account page to view my purchases to see if it had actually charged me for it, but I couldnt find the place to review my purchases.

Just wanted everyone to know so as to avoid confusion in the future...

They renamed the Samsung a707 yesterday to the Cingular Sync.

So there it is. When you hear people talk about the Sync or the a707, it's the same phone.

Thinking of purchasing a HyTn or Cingular version. Considering which is better the unlocked or Cingular phone. For me the question revolves around the flexibility built into this phone. It seems that you can almost avoid a traditional carrier relationship, use wireless for e-mail rather than data package, use wireless internet for Skype rather than rely solely on a cellular voice package. Use wireless internet for IM rather than text. So, there's the obvious, we're not always near a wireless hub. But why choose Cingular over a SIM card? Cingular does have many international partners, although their voice rates are higher than VW from what literature presents. Cingular could bundle the data and choosing unlimited data plan drops the ph...

Why does Cingular push crap like Cingular Video which seems to only encompass short previews and clips of films in their attempt to push the MediaMaxs rather than a fantastic feature like MobiTV? I would think as a customer that i was ripped off if i were to purchase a phone and package just for CV and advertizements is what i got. Is there any reason one would want to sign up for the premium channels. Once again, why pay extra for 1-5 minute clips when you could be watching streaming TV with MobiTV????

Alright, I am back in this wireless business after a year+ absence and decided to be a Retail Account Executive with Cingular. My territory includes the accounts of Best Buy, WalMart and Sam's Club.

If you are an agent, work for one or better yet - Best Buy, WalMart or Sam's Club in their wireless departments - give me ideas on what you expect from your wireless representative and motivates you to sell one carrier over the other.

Hey guys some more good news.
Taled to the Blackberry rep yesterday.
Pearl hopefully before December and with PTT capability. They will use this device as a test bed for the PTT software in the blackberries. Before releaseing the firmware update for the 7130 and the 8700.
Oh one other thing.
No 3G BlackBerry until next year late. 😢 They said that the current models and models being released are so optimised for edge that there is no reason to add support until the 3G network is larger. 😢

But i can tell you that the next BB that they will release will have Wi-fi, and GPS support added in. So there is something good to look forward to. 🙂

Until 2 weeks ago I had my AT&T Digital phone (primary business line) and my Cingular TREO phone for International travel. Due to the shutting down of the Digital network--received formal notice in the mail from Cingular, I elected to transfer the digital phone number to the TREO and drop the second number. This was done in the Cingular store even though all I went in for was a new Sim card.

No One told me that:
1.They closed BOTH accounts and stuck me with a new 24 month contract that I did not agree to
2.I would loose the North America plan and my AT&T Canada plan (my biggest customer is Canadain!!) Calls to/from Canada are now over $.50/min!
3. I would be treated as a new account and loose ALL International access for 3 months-...
