8525 Voip

I was just reading up on motos A910, and was wondering if it would be considered a breach of contract to use a VOIP service while using the WiFi on a device like the 8525? Suggesting you could use this device at home like a home phone or on the go as a cell depending on WiFi coverage.

then went to another cingy store.they had not even heard 8525.they asked me what it was.

leaves me wondering if ever this phone is going to be launced by cingular or is it just myth.

if any body knows anything can you help here.maybe indicate when this phone is going to be released.

COR Employees

Hey guys, I wanted to ask the corporate sales reps about the benefits Cingular offers to you in the way of health, dental, 401K etc. I spoke briefly with one of the Cingular reps in the mall and he said you are issued a Treo 650 to use but as far as discounts for addtional lines of service you guys get squat.

What are the provisions and limitations the company puts on your phone if any?

Mystery shop policies

OK, I'm in market 35, SC/NC, and Cingular has implemented a new policy for agents regarding mystery shop scores. If a sales associate scores below 85%, every employee at that store will be required to attend a mystery shop boot camp on Saturday morning at 7am, or Cingular will shut off their employee line. Apparently this policy came from the director of another market and is being implemented here in an attempt to increase mystery shop scores. I would like some feedback from other agents who have heard of this policy, or have experienced it, or who have insights on how to combat this policy. Thanks.

zx20

Does anyone know the reason why the zx20 was cancelled? I wasn't exactly thrilled about the phone once I got my hands on it, but it doesn't seem like it was given much of a chance.

Just wondering what the reasoning was...

4th Quarter Predictions

I know this is early, but I want to see everyone's opinion and thoughts...

I'm going to go out on a limb here, and officially declare my predictions for 4Q before we even get into the quarter..

I'm going to say we'll finish the 4th quarter with approx 62 million... what's that about 3 million new cust?

How u say?
1. More phones are coming with PTT, and music functionality.
2. A bigger push for customers before the name change. (not expected until Q1 '07 at the earliest)
3. Newer, better, faster data devices (treos, bb, nokia's, htc's)
4. Better public perception. (least dropped cals, network, cust serv)
5. More appealing phones. (style, quality, and userability)

Sure we have to get through the whole tdma ppd shutdown,...

Other Weird Plans

Texan 69 plan - unlimited minutes for 69.99, LD is not inluded and billed at .15 a minute. Cingular Home footprint, .79 a minute roaming.

Goverment/ISD Plan - Unlimited minutes for 69.99, LD included. Texas Superhome footprint. Roaming billed at .69 a minute.

The only 2 I can think of, so far.

Anyone hear any new info on the N75?

I have an upgrade that I'm dying to use. I would love to get rid of my V3 and get the N75, but I really don't want to wait forever. I know the N75 was allegedly going to launch in Q4 06, but now I've been seeing launch dates elsewhere that are saying Q1 or Q2 2007. On Nokia's own website for the phone they say it has not received FCC approval yet and now I'm starting to worry. I was hoping maybe some reps have heard something about the launch. Any info would be appreciated.

Still possible to provision your account for GAIT?

Two years ago cingular made it possible if you had two things: A GSM plan plus a nokia 6340i phone you could get both the ESN & IMEI added and effectively have access to all three technologies...while they last. They call it the GSM plan with the GAIT calling area. It probably shows up on your billing stmt even if you do not use it, should someone not using it see it and go "hey....".

Anyone that works with/for Cingular...Assuming you have the right type of SIM card, and you have the correct phone, and your ESN handy, is it still possible to get this feature added on to your account?

If you can do it, am I correct in saying that you can use a 64K SIM so long as it's not a 3G card? I have heard that 3G kills any & all GAIT, w...

Holiday Promos????

Is Cingular going to be having any Holiday promos this year? They need to have at least one plan to compete with the Tmobile My Faves. Something, anything would be good since it has been quite a while since they have had any promo plans.

Nokia E62 and Hotmail

I lost my Razr Sunday and am now in the market for a replacement phone. I wanted to wait for the Cingular 8525, but I don't have the luxury to be without a phone for weeks or months. I am currently considering the Nokia E62 or Cingular 8125. The Nokia is nicer in many ways, but it does not have wifi. Also, Hotmail is my e-mail service. Can Hotmail be accessed with the E62? I know that the java and flash have been crippled by Cingular.

More on Q3

Read 3rd paragraph.

http://www.wirelessweek.com/article/CA6383105.html »

Financial news just keeps getting better for Cingular Wireless, which reported record net income of $847 million in the third quarter, up 280 percent from last year. Beyond the dollars, though, the carrier is particularly happy about what it is seeing in data usage.

Cingular, now with 58.7 million subscribers, says its average revenue per user (ARPU) for data has jumped 46 percent from the same quarter last year. Data ARPU is now $6.32 and financial analysts note that it is mostly coming from the carrier's 2G network. Meanwhile, Cingular expects its 3G UMTS/HSDPA network will cover most of the major markets by the end of the year.

A research note from Raymo...

Neva any good Cingular Announcements

Whats the point of annoucing the phones if there unlikly to come over to america. Personaly tired of all these Stlyish EV-DO Handsets coming to sprint and verizon when cingular only has 2. Why are companies slacking on the america HSDPA Network. It will never grow if they don' make handsets so i'm tired of hearin things like. O the network isn' big enough or anything like that. Come out with something innovative and let the network follow it. Cingular doesn't have any catching phones but the f&(&*$&( razor so of course HSDPA won't grow if they don't get more out there. Also I'm tired of UMTS when HSDPA is out, why release 2 different phones seeing as though HSDPA phones aren't that expensive.

LG CU500 anybody? only about 100 bucks for all...
