She is still using a 4 yr old Nokia, so needless to say she needs extremely SIMPLE to operate. She is also hooked on Nokias because of their durability. (she drops things alot) Our carrier is Cingular and I just havn't seen anything that impressive. ANY SUGGESTIONS????

It's (their crappy) Network.... lol

My friend who has a Cingular and Vzw phone called me the last night. I knew inmedialtely he was calling me from his vzw phone cuz he sounded far/low (just like my sister) My sister has the E815 and my friend has the LG 8100. So the "defective phone" is out of the question... He called me from his vzw phone cuz his V551 was dead/charging. Anyway, eventually (after a long conversation) his E815 died too. He called me from his now charged V551... and oh man! what a difference GSM makes. He sounded so clear! There's no doubt about it. GSM's call clarity is by far superior... And even though he broke up a little here and there, he sounded MUCH better. Why is it that most people don't notice this superior call clarity??? It is so noticable! If pe...

How to get out of Verizon w/o ETF???

Just curious if any of you can tell me how to possibly cancel my family share plan with Verizon. I live out west and all my family back east has Cingular or moving to Cingular, I have 3 lines on my current plan, 2 phone added recently, and it could cost me a fortune in ETFs etc. I might just have to stick with what I have, but was wondering if anybody had any secrets. And I know that Verizon had that open window a little while back, with the new contract fee, but I didn't take advantage of that. Of course I can't ask this on the Verizon forum without getting bashed, no major problems with their service or phone, just mostly a family issue. 😁 🙄

New BlackBerry 8700c

I saw a post somewhere stating this device would be available to B2B peeps immediately, rather than the 11.21.05 date that has been thrown around. Can any Cingular® professionals elaborate on this?

Cingular Customer Service

I have been working with Cingular Wireless for awhile now, and I have to say for the last couple of months they have been getting better, I just wish they were open on Sundays, and if all the Customer Service reps were the same, I don't know if you guys get the same problem, but when I call in like a couple times a day I get different stories. For ex. I called in last week to change a customer to a 1 year and they said no problem and had it done in like 5 mins. Called in early this week, "sir we can't do it", and I was like when was that into affect they said it's been into affect for awhile now. And my co-worker called in 2 days ago, and they did it again under 5 mins. Is it just they don't want to do the work? Or what?....And another t...

Phone Coverage Question

Hi, I have a question about phone coverage. My brother has a Sony Ericsson T237 and it's covered by insurance. I have a v400, but I'm getting ready to upgrade it. If I were to give him my v400 would his insurance cover the v400, or the T237. Also, would he have to call in to Cingular to put in the records that his phone is now a v400? Thanks!!

Two Year vs. None

I am told today the HP iPAQ (whenever it is really for sale despite what Cingular's web site says) is $150 over the listed price on the web site for a no-contract price, which is what I have always understood. But yet the MPx220 is $250 over the listed 2-year contract price for no-contract. It is even a junky unit, historically. Why is it so much more?

Blasted Cingular!

So, Cingular tells me I can cancel early and only pay $50/line in ETFs. I called about 5 different times to confirm this and all said yes. I guess the reason they did that was because they knew it was their problem in my area that they couldn't fix in a timely manner. I did offer to pay the profits they're losing from me leaving, to which they declined.

I get the bill today. Kind of. I logged into my account and saw I had a balance. A fairly large balance. I haven't gotten an email saying my statement is ready nor have I received the paper copy.

Yup, you guessed it. I'm being charged $150/line that I canceled. Do I have a chance of getting the credit? I'd normally tell them to pound sand and I'm not going to pay it. I offe...

does ROKR for $150 mean w600i coming ?

I was wondering.. it barely came out like a month ago and the price dropped so suddenly and drastically. it was 250 with a 2 year contract and now its only 150.

does anyone know why ? does this mean it didn't do so well and the w600i is going to be released soon cause i sure hope so :]

i know there was a whole speculation or rumor that there was a lot of money in the Rokr and that there wasn't suppossed to be any new music phones out.. but i hope this means the release of the w600i X]

Cingular Vs Verizon

All I need an unbiased opinion!!!!
I have Verizon now And I am happy with there coverage area,
What I am frustrated with is the quality of the treo 650, It "SUCKS" 😈
I am on my 3rd unit same problems :resetting, freezes, speaker buzz's, and loses the bluetooth connection. Verizon will not admit that there is a problem with the 650's but yet you can read on this website all the issues that everybody has with the device. Hell Palm is being sued in Calif over the same issues.
It come down to this, I have a 400.00 doorstop, Verizon will not give me my money back, and if I WANT A NEW PHONE, I have to pay full retail!!! I can leave verizon and pay them there 175. no big deal my monthly bill is over 225.
I can change providers...

Testing out Cingular (Newbie Question)

I have drank Verizon cool-aid for years but recently Verizon phones and customer service has taken a nose dive. I have a LG VX8100 and its crap. Verizon refuses to do anything for me so I started a Cingular account and have the RAZR V3 black. I have 30 days to decide to move to Cingular or stay with Verizon. Things have been well with this phone no dropped calls better sound then my Verizon phone. However I noticed in these forums there is an update to the software for the RAZR so I tried to get it at the Cingular store where I got the phone. I was told they don't update software. Is this accurate. How does one get an update if Cingular doesn't upgrade them for their customers? Any help would be appreciated.

Sony Ericsson- 2 new models any day now?

I've noticed that two Sony Ericsson models previously listed on Cingular's website are no longer there, the z500 and s710.

Are the replacements for these two models going to be released any day?

Also, does anyone know if the newer versions may support MobiTV?

Cingular and the 1900 band

So, I want to buy an unlocked phone that does not have the 850Mhz band, which I know is a bad idea. However, I really like this phone and the Cellmania function check on Ebay says it will work in my area, which is Washington, DC. However, I heard a rumor that Cingular was switching all their service to the 850 band, which would mean I would buy this phone and be screwed. Any advice? Is the 1900 band still viable in DC? Should I switch to T-Mobile, which only uses the 1900 band? And the long shot, does anyone own/use the Panasonic x800 in the DC area with Cingular? Thanks a lot everyone!
