New FT Brochure

I just recieved the new Family Talk brochure and they did not put insurance on it. The have a new brochure for insurance that has a picture of a guy looking very stressed out, which I thought was fitting for dealing with XBM sometimes. Anyhow, in the insurance brochure, it has a second section that offeres an extended warranty for $1.99 a month. Anyone know anything about this? Texaswireless???

Deal with it

Ok, regardless of which forum this is, as long as the topic is not disgustingly off topic (ie, the new car suzie got today) then I'm sure we're ok. As long as no one is being rude, racist or severly inapropriate, deal with the posts and don't read them if you don't like them. by commenting and participating in a post you dont agree with, shows you are a hypocrite. Also, if the site owner had a problem with it, and wanted it to stop, he would post in here requesting it. Until then, just dont read something that bothers you. Thats like the guy who was watching fear factor and got grossed out and passed out and knocked his head open on his coffee table and tried to sue the network. their reply "why didn't you just change the channel?"

When calling account review...

Apparently there is a new policy when you call account review (a.r.) you are supposed to give them your first and last name. I personally have an issue with giving my last name to some one I dont know. If it was all that dire to know they can look up my cuid. So now when I call I tell them I'm 'Mike Jones'. I think next time I will see if I can slide 'Dave Chapelle' by and if they catch on to that I will tell them my name is 'Cornell Flakeford'

Which Cingular phone has best reception/call quality?

I've read the reviews of all the Cingular phones here--I always here about the great phone selection at Cingular. But after reading the reviews, it seems like every one of them has problems, or bad volume, or breaks easily. I have a contract with Verizon now (expiring soon), and a prepaid phone with Cingular (Moto V551, and tried Samsung P207).
I like the Cingular service except that on the 2 phone models that I tried, the volume is the earpiece is too low. It seems I get pretty good, consistent reception wherever I go, but they are just not loud enough. I don't have any hearing problems, as I've tried phones with other carriers that sound fine.
All I care about is getting good, fairly loud volume on a phone that gets good reception and ...

nokia mp3 ringtone quality?

Do ya'll know if Nokia phones generally have good mp3 ringtone quality? I know some phones' mp3 ringtones sound crappy. (I have the z500 & they sound good on it). I'm thinking about getting the nokia 6101.

Also, does Nokia usually have descent ringtones that come with the phone (no crazy ones--just good normal, standard ringtones).

Thanks in advance.

Steve Schoonmaker, Cingular’s VP of Customer Service, is in our call center today to pressure, stress, and utterly wreak havoc on us all. Any Cingular employees or customers have any questions for him?

YOU CAN'T HAVE A FREE RAZR!

I have taken five calls today from customer that have seen a free RAZR on a third party retailer, and wanted me to honor that price. Granted we are the web match dept, but WE CAN NOT MATCH THIRD PARTY SITES! And three of these five were transfered over from care (I look at the notes), and the rep notes that she can't offer it but transfered to a dept that can. WE CAN ONLY OFFFER CINGULAR.com prices! Please tell all your care friends that if they want the Free Razr they have to go through that website. And if they are migrating, and they are in contract unless they cancel with the ETF they can not get it. Errrr.

Phone/Signal Problems???

Well, I just called into Cingular to ask if they were having Signal problems in my area. They said everything looks fine, and asked why. I told them both mine and my mom's phone weren't working and she's way across town. They said it may be that I wasn't getting a strong signal, even thought I live 6 blocks from the tower. She thought I lived 3 miles, for some reason, their computer can't figure that out, but the intersection she gave me is about 6 blocks away. She said maybe a tree was interfering with the signal, which sounds like hog wash to me. She had me take my phone apart so that it'll start working. Well, here's my question...

Why would a phone show 5 bars of signal strength even thought whenever I try to make a call I get ...

Interesting...

Cingular is trying to get all TDMA and Analog customer to have switched over to GSM by '07, which is interesting becuase DoCoMo is trying to get all of their customers off GSM by 2012 and they announced it in Nov. '04...

DoCoMo: 2G gone by 2012
Nov 26 2004 - 04:07 PM ET | 3G, DoCoMo
Briefly--NTT DoCoMo today announced that it will stop operation of its second generation cellular network in 2012. Currently 80% or 40 million DoCoMo customers are on the 2G network. While the company offers a host of 3G handsets [see archive], they are more expensive.
