I see the Razr black is free after rebates and 2 yr contract at Buy.com. Even at my corporate discount price, it is $200 through cingular. If I can add the new account to my corporate discount plan for monthly service, why would I not want to get the phone at buy.com? Anyone have any bad experiences with this? What's the catch?

I am contemplating perhaps using Cingular (I was all set on using Verizon but right now I don't see any phones that I like).

Can you convince me that the Cingular network (particularly in Las Vegas and the Central Coast of California) is as good if not better than Verizon?

Also, is there one phone which stands out above the rest which is clear and strong in reception (both earpiece and speakerphone)- I don't care about MP3 (although a decent camera would be nice) - and it must have Bluetooth?

The word is that the Nokia 6102 should be widely available between late August and mid September. For those unfamiliar, this is nokia's flip phone. The same goes for Nokia's smart phone that flips open with a qwerty keypad, the 9300. The 6102 should be priced at $190, the 9300 is priced at $650 right now, but expect that to go down. Also, the nokia 6682 should be at stores all over by the end of july and cost $420. We've only found out about the nokias for sure but have heard rumors about other phones coming and would like to raise the question, does anyone have reliable information on any other phones coming in within the next two months?

I have recently noticed how slow the Cingular forum has gotten.... Is everyone on vacation or something?

I am wondering if anyone could give me any insight in the pros and cons of working for Sprint vs Cingular.
Main concerns would be about pay and benefits.

All I want to increase the minutes and other services with ATT or Cingular.

But, two of Cingular’s policies are in conflict with each other, and prevent it.

First, they effectively forbid us from changing our ATT plans (by taking away free Night and Weekends and free Mobile to Mobile if we change our ATT plan w/o migrating to Cingular).

Then they require that we ATT plan customers be at the end of our ATT contract before they can migrate to Cingular. (Apparently this is the case only in certain markets, e.g. Northeast and West Coast)

These two policies are conflict, since we want to move up, but can’t.

You would think that the Cingular would want customers to buy into higher value plans, but I have run into some unexpecte...

I am a Legacy AT&T person, with my same working number on my older Nokia 6360.
My last contact with AT&T Wireless (a 2 year) ended October 2003.
I am on a month to month $39 plan, and I always carry a credit balance on my billing.
(Cingular owes me $50)

My Goals are;
A new phone (Nokia 6230), at something less than retail.
And, I am willing to sign a contract, but prefer only a 1 year.

I called Cingular, and this was their response.

I do not qualify for any phone upgrade discounts, because I am not in the 10th or 22nd month of an existing contract.

I can not sign a contract extension, with discounts, because I do not have a contract.

I can not leave Cingular without incurring an Early Termination Fee, as I have an assume...

Ok so I called today for my aunt who needed some roaming charges removed from her bill since we live so close to the Canadian border and we got some guy named Sam, very polite and helpful.

After helping them and having heard the complaints from my 2 aunts about the poor sound quality on my phone he talked to me. I explained that I returned the phone once at the store and once through XBM. He said well let me send you some updates for your phone that should help a lot.

Hey guys, i'm pretty sure Cingular Online customer service is down today (at least for the former ATT side of things) alot of customers have had to go thru us to pay bills etc. any more info would be great.

5 times in the last 5 days my phone receives a call an I completely loose my signal an the phone reboots an looks for a signal. It happens without warning an im wondering what is goin on with my phone, i dont know if its the phone acting up or cingular can someone shine some light on my problem? This problem doesnt happen all the time its just angers me because i dont know what to do.

I am starting to experience more dropped calls moving between towers. I was wondering if this is due to Cingular removing TDMA bandwidth/towers or whatever. Yes, I am still a TDMA user as I have a great plan and nothing competes with it now. Nor is the added benefit worth moving up.

Any ideas on why the quality is dropping? Is it due to Congular phasing out TDMA?

I was an old TDMA user that needed to get a new phone. There was an offer for California residents (still in effect, check with my zip: 93105) at T-Mobile for 1,000 anytime minutes, 5,000 nights and weekends, and unlimited mobile to mobile -- all for $39.99.

I was about to buy, and leave Cingular, when I got this loyalty offer for 1,000 minutes at $39.99, which included all the same stuff. Awesome right? Well, no. I lost the darn promotion, and no one knew what I was talking about.

I was looking in the CSP and I noticed the Moto V540. It is basically the samething as the V551, just black. It did say that it is only avaliable in the BMG Channel. What is BMG? Will it ever come to retail sales.

I can get an 18% discount from Verizon based on my being a retiree from the Diplomatic Corp at the Department of State. I can also get huge discounts on their phones; however, thus far I am not in love with any of their phones.
