😢 😢 I made the mistake of switching to Cingular without searching the Forums first.
I have been with them for 4 months and I am so dissatisfied and am sorry I switched from T-mobile. First of all they screwed up on my bill. They caught their mistake and sent me a whopping $300 phone bill expecting me to pay within the month when it wasn't even my fault. When I called them to see how we can work this out, they practically told me tough luck.
The reception is terrible. I cannot have a decent conversation without becoming disconnected at least 3 to 4 times on one call. I am paying for minutes I cannot even use because the connection is so bad. This frustration is too much and I cannot handle this for another 2 years. It is wort...

There are supposed to be 15 to 20 new UMTS or HSDPA markets on Cingular by the end of the year, where are they?? I can speculate, but it does not seem like this is going to be one track. I finally got my phone to work with my laptop but EDGE through bluetooth is too slow for my primary connection. I have a dream of one day leaving the overpricing that is comcast for a cheaper fast internet solution. Also why are there not more phones supported for mobi TV, I would like to try it.

When I got there, I found that although it says Cingular on the sign outside, on the windows, and on the inside, the store is actually a "Parrot Cellular" store instead. Does Parrot Cellular run all of the Cingular stores?

The guy in the store was a complete moron, and I watched him turn away customers (including me) because he didn't want to "get into trouble" by helping us.

Are there any stores owned and operated by Cingular or am I stuck dealing with Parrot Cellular or some other 3rd party?

Can a unlocked V635 be configured for the old AT&T mmode and other services by going to the Cingular AT&T users site and selecting the V600 settings to send the configuration over the air?

My billing cycle started over on the July 23rd and I'm still not able to monitor my usage with all four methods that they provide to me(website, #646*, media net-my account, and 611). When i call into CS they tell me to just wait another twenty four hours for the system to update. Pure BS on cINGULAR's behalf.

Well I just signed with cingular and decided to check out cingular so far my day isn't to thrilling last night for signal with my new sleek black cameraphoned Razr i don't get signal in my local walmart thats not cool i haven't found a provider yet that doesn't get signal there??? hmm..
ouside the phone seemed to work almost flawlessly i didn't achieve any dropped calls yet even on some of the back roads here yet
so, so far so good, camera seemed real good other than the fact that the refresh rate is slow no action shots here. quality of the camera real nice and clear compared to my fiances 6100 from verizon. the backlight keys are the perfect brightness in my opinion, unless you are cant see that well.outside screen could be a lil cleare...

I am a knowledgeable person when it comes to Cingular. After having the service and formerly working for Cingular, I can say that so much good has come from Cingular. Despite the good, there is bad. I'm hoping someone important will read this and do something about it. One problem Cingular has is the upgrade policy. 21 months into the 24 month contract, the customer can upgrade. Most of of the phones that we sale probably won't make it to the full term, leaving the customer to pay a ridiculous price for their next phone. Next is the Customer service. I dealt with a different group of people when it comes to customers. I don't deal with Customer service. I do however hear complaints about CS. This must be fixed. Next is the price, cingular is...

Hey all I have been using my 6230 for awhile now and one of my friends at work showed me a pocket pc called the Imate Jam. He said that he uses it on the Cingular Network and so far it is amazing. Anyone here have one of these and care to chime in about what you think about it? Most interested in pc functions (outlook) and phone services such as reception. Thanks!!

one thing i need to do is say this,

when you call into customer care you have to relaise that when it comes to humans some people lear quicker or more than others,
if you get a really smart rep, do not say to them that the last person u dealt with was dumb, i happen to know alot abut this business and i like going indepth with customer so they can know as much as possible about this stuff, but i had a customer today tell me that the previous rep was stupid because she didnt know as much about netorks as i do

this isnt her fault... i do research outside of work to know as much as i do
so remember some reps are smarter than others
and if you get someone who doesnt quite seem sure
just ask them if they can make sure in a nice way

I became an AT&T wireless customer in October of 2003. I have no complaints about either AT&T or Cingular. I live in NYC and travel to Miami a lot, and I have a great signal in both places. I've also never had any problem with customer service as some people have. I would like to stay with Cingular, but only because I am in love with the plan I currently have. It's obviously an old AT&T plan which is no longer offered by Cingular. For only $29.99 a month, I have free long distance, no roaming, unlimited nights and weekends and 300 anytime minutes. It's perfect for me, since I rarely use the phone during the day and have never even come close to using up my 300 minutes. I have no use for more anytime minutes, rollover minutes, mobil...

Is there any way somebody can hook me up with this?

Does anybody know if most of the former AT&T call centers are in India? The reason I'm asking is because it seems the majority of people I talk to on the Blue side sound suspiciously foreign -- from India to be exact. One of the foreign sounding blue reps was very insistent that I inform the customer she was transferring over that unlocked phones could not be used with Cingular because that is what she told him (obviously that was false and I was going to do no such thing especially since I have an unlocked AT&T phone myself).
