I'm a former blue tdma rep now doing CSE, so i'm inexperienced with gsm. I've heard mention on here before of "forcing" a phone on another network. Would this be the same as forcing an orange phone on the blue network, or vice versa?

I have a CSE customer who is on the orange network but is surrounded by blue towers and cant get any coverage. Is it possible to get him over to blue? Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

can someone tell me why a 64k sim will not work on a V400 for Cingular that was bought before the merger. If it will sorry for asking I was told on here that you had to have a post merger phone for it to work.

I found plenty of info on transferring games from the PC to the phone, but what about the opposite way? I have a new S710a coming, it's an exchange b/c I can't receive text mails on this one. I paid $5 for BlackJack, great game by the way, and I'd like to keep it. If I can't transfer it, does anyone know if Cingular will let me redownload it for free?

OK, so if I were to get an unlocked phone, what would be the big differences (if it was originally purchased from the manufacturer or something and not a carrier)? I would assume it won't have the "cingular stuff" preloaded on it...but will the reception and stuff be better if I just get a regular locked one? And to go further, if I get an unlocked Cingular phone, does that mean it still has the "Cingular stuff" on it but i can just activate it on other carriers network (assuming that it is a quad-band GSM phone)?

In other words (Gosh, it sounds so complicated when I typed it all out), am I better off getting a locked or unlocked phone (off of ebay or something) if I only want to use Cingular?

I currently on the unlimited charter plan(I going to miss it :cry🙂 with whats left of ATTWS, with two lines and the contract ends in November. I want to start a totally new service with Cingular. I just wanted to know if this will effect my other service or will they try to get me to migrate my other services over to the new account? Thank you.

I work for CellONE and our activation fee for new activation is $35. I have a customer who had 9 lines and was thinking about adding a 10th line. I told him, based on his good service with us, there was a good chance I could get the fee waved on the 10th line. And, I could have, but then.....

There was a recall on LG3200 and we started offering $30 off Audiovox 8910 and one month free for those who wanted the LG (made 8910 FREE after rebate). Unfortunately, this this offer made it impossible for me to get the wave approved. The rate plan was $16.95, so the total savings were $46.95, as opposed to $35. The activation fee had not been brought up for some time (and I never promised it would be waved), so I did...

I work for CellONE, but i thought I could get more feedback in this forum. 🤭 The story begins on Saturday. This guy came into my shop saying he needed a phone and fast. he broke his old one and was going out of town in a few hours. I checked he account (his dad's) and found that they weren't able to get reduced pricing on a phone until June. I explained and he asked how much a new phone would be now. I told him all i had in stock was a $200 phone (the truth) and that all the other stores in the area were closed now (came in at 1:58PM) so he was pretty limited in his choices. I told him he could shop on eBay, but he reiterated that he needed it now. I thought for a bit and remembered that I had a customer that had an extra audiovox 8410...

I live in Alabama and Cingular had said that they use the 850/1900 band in this state, so dose that mean that a overseas phone that had 900/1800/1900 will work. I mean I know it should work on the 1900 but does that mean that there will be cretin parts of my state that Cingular only had 850 and I want have any service or is it that they have 1900 everywhere they have 850 at and why would they use two different bands in the same state anyway?
