National Plans

Are there any national rate plans with 2500 minutes? I really don't want to pay for 3000 minutes when I'm constantly around 2400-2500 per month.

I've been a customer for 10+ years and really don't want to go with another carrier but others have plans that match my usage....

I know there are no advertised plans of 2500 anything available less know about?

Thanks for any and all suggestions....

Does Anyone Know When The Official Launch Date Is For The V635?

And I currently have a V551 should I stay with it or upgrade when and if I get the chance?

I know the V600 had alot of problems.

Does everyone think the V635 will have the same history and problems of the V600?

GPRS Settings for G51u?

I'm trying to get MEdia to work but I can't set the GPRS. I called cust serv but they "can't" help me. Anyone know where I should start?

Also the phone seems to keep picking up AT&T service, not Cingular. Is that cool?

MSN Messenger count as text messaging?

I have a Moto MPX220, which has a MSN messenger client built in. This client does not seemt o be text message based, as I can tell if someone is typing a message to me, just as if I was using the desktop version of the application.

If it is considered text messaging, what if I use my phone as a GPRS modem for my PDA, and I use MSN on that? Does cingular track MSN messenger through some sort of proxy, since the messages recieved through MSN are obviously not text messages (I get no notification of recieving them, and the messages are sent to my normal passport account, not to my cellular phone number). Will using my PDA allow me to bypass the text messaging fees?

You sure seem to like starting many new threads and it seems you start them just so you can rant. Just my observation.

ATTENTION CUSTOMERS & EMPLOYEES

In a world that is perfect, All customers get exactly what they want without any headaches.

In a perfect world, All service reps have perfect customers which never want more than what is offered.

Customers: Companies are like @$$holes... Everyone has one.

While I do not agree with everything that is said here, I still keep in mind that this forum does not represent the Company. If a rep wants to complain about Customer XYZ & how they were stupid, the have every right. I know it is their job to take the abuse, but they don't have to bottle it up inside. Coverage Issue in Dallas

I have a question that I was hoping someone might be able to answer. My son will be attending SMU (Southern Methodist University) this fall and in the hopes of avoiding long distance charges I would like to be able to get him a cell phone that can get reception in the dorms/everywhere on campus. My thought was that since SBC is a Texas company and they have an agreement with SMU, reception on campus might be the best. Is anyone able to confirm this (possibly someone who works with Cingular who might be able to tell me where the nearest cell tower is). I am currently a Sprint subscriber, but want to make sure that he is able to make calls anywhere on campus, and switching to Cingular in Chicago is not a problem and it gives me a good excu...

ATT --> Cingular Migration, HELP!!!

Hi,

I was wondering if you guys could give me some advice. I am currently on a local regional ATT TDMA plan in the Bay Area. My contract runs out this upcoming January but I will be moving to Boston this September. I need to switch to a National GSM plan in order to not incure huge roaming charges. Is there any way I can migrate to the Cingular GSM service and NOT sign another contract??? If not, I was thinking that I may just have to pay the cancellation fee.

Thanks,

-Kevin

On your Cingular handset, do you like prefer:

Monophonic Ringtones
Polyphonic Ringtones
Superphonic Ringtones aka Realtones/HiFi ringers

I prefer Superphonic. I make all of mine with MP3's. I edit the using WavePad.

Dear Cingular Employee

If a few more customers could take some of these items to heart, I won't be so pissed off all day and expect the next customer to request I waive their upgrade fee, give them a free camera phone and throw in some accessories like so many do and I'll be more likely to do whatever I can to help you.

As a Cingular customer, I do not think its my task to see where you are comming from. You chose to take a job knowing you are in a service industry that rates at the bottom of the customer satisfaction food chain for the money YOU agreed to accept.

A customer should be able to ask for ANYTHING without retribution or a "special understanding" of your chosen working conditions. When you buy a car you expect more than ...

The mystery... Revealed.

So over the last couple of weeks, I have been bombarded with emails wanting to know how I migrated for free. This is my story:

I called in because my bill was not right. They were charging me for text messages individually, even though I called to add a TEXT package previously. I also asked about prices on phones for upgrading. The rep told me some prices & they were really good.

I told him to proceed with a migration & he told me that I would have to pay full price for the phone. I questioned WHY, especially when he just told me that those phones were really cheap. The rep then started to CUSS ME OUT....

He told me that the company did not need crappy customers like me. He called me a ***. Cussed at me even more. The he threw dow...

Any news on more flip phone choices?

After searching the Phone Finder section here, i've found the Samsung P-207 as the only flip model coming to Cingular any time soon.

Rumor has it the Motorola V635 might be coming.

If anyone has more info to shed some light on more choices from Cingular in terms of flip phones, pls post what you know, thanks.

my choice Verizon+internet or Cingular+Bluetooth

Hello,
I really don't want this thread to turn into which provider is "better".
I have been a Verizon customer since they formed.

My plan has expired. I am free. 😁
I REALLY want to use bluetooth with my enabled Apple Powerbook. There are several reasons. First off I lose my phone every six months on average and with it go all my contacts and everything on it. Also I would like to be able to simply DL my phone's contents - pictures, recordings, etc.. and UL new tones, wallpapers, etc.

I can switch to Cingular and get a GSM phone with functional bluetooth. Which phone? Nokia 6230 won't hold up to the abuse of a carpenter like my LG clamshell. The 551 or V3? ok.. so I end up picking a Cingular phone and go with them so I can wireless...

Looking For New Work

I'm looking to expand my career as a sales associate working at a Cingular direct store. Are there any employees here in the Houston area? If so, I'm asking if there are any positions open in that area. I have experience in the wireless industry. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Cingular Service in Boston, MA

Hi,

I was wondering if any of you guys could give me some insight on how the Cingular service is compared to T-Mobile in the Boston/Cambridge, MA area?? I will be moving there shortly and my contract from Cingular will soon run out. I would love to get the Motorola A630 and was thinking about switching the service over to T-Mobile but not at the expense of service quality.

Thanks,
😁
