I agree, Nextel's coverage does suck...

My mother in law has nextel, and if she puts her phone in the middle of her desk, she can get phone calls, but if she moves it anywhere else, all her calls are routed straight to her voicemail. Plus, when I call my friend (he has nextel) it only rings 1-2 times before going to his voicemail. Just because their coverage sucks so bad. Maybe the sprint merger will beneift them...

Just a Tid-Bit

I am trying to be helpful when saying this & am being nice, I swear...

I used to work for T-Mobile. When I did, I contstantly notice something being mispronounced & have noticed it in the Cingular forum too...

"Here's your sign"...Where's Bill Engvall when you need him?

:LOL: I just had two of the most perfect things to add to Bill Engvalls act! The HUGE neon sign above my store says "CINGULAR" the signs in the window say "CINGULAR" I have the insignia all over the place and a customer walks in and says.... "Do you guys do Cingular?" 😲 OH MY GOSH!!! Are you serious?!!! not 5 minutes later, someone comes in and says.... "Do you guys do Verizon?" COME ON PEOPLE!!! It's not that hard! Left to right! Top to bottom! bunched up letters make a word, bunched up words form a sentence.take tylenol for any headaches, midol for any cramps!!! 😳 🙄

Need some Help with Razr Phone

I just signed up with Cingular 2 days ago and got a Razr phone. The phone came unlocked and is not branded as Cingular.

Everything works fine except the screen says I'm using AT&T Wireless and the roaming indicator shows up on the display. My area has been fully converted to Cingular. My friend has a V551 that he got from Cingular and he hasn't see the phone change to any other carrier.

I contacted the store and they told me not to worry about it. It seems as though something is definitely wrong with the phone.

Cingular support didn't have any idea.

Anyone know about this? Thanks.

truth about cingular

I work for cingular in customer care. I have read a lot of posts about FCC and complaints and consumer reports. I have read employees of other carriers come in the cingular forum and post as much negativity about cingular as they can find in print. I am not saying cingular is perfect but I have had almost every wireless carrier and all have major flaws. Cingular's problems in billing come from the fact we offer rollover mintues and that took a while to get off the ground. Cingualr is the only carrier that u can put your cell phone bill on the same bill as your home phone bill. Having SBC and Bellsouth selling cingular is great it cost cingular very little money to sign up those customers. One big problem is their are a lot of laws againist t...

Funny things said in the world of wireless customer service

I know this is not tech related...but it is kind of funny...

Funny things customer's have said:

"I will not be able to ford these phones"
----
"I have a sony exorcism phone"
----
"We are having a severe wonder storm"
----
"My husband thinks he is so smart...he does not want me keeping tabs on him with a cell phone"
----
"I have a Nakota phone" (instead of Nokia)
----
"I don't need one of those real dinky phones"
----
Instead of "push", some customers say "poosh"
----
"somebody's phone is ringing...Oh it's mine!"
----
"Can't you send me a new simmy card?"
----
"I am in the middle of a cellular nightmare!"
----
I asked the cust, "Is there anything else I can help with today?"
Cust says, "Nothing at the proper moment"...

In 2000 years you think the Vatican would learn its lesson and pick a younger pope! Come on! Take a lesson from Hollywood and pick the Golden Child!!

Incoming Text Messages Cost Money!?

Only after receiving my bill, did I discover that I was being charged for incoming messages to my phone! While the cost per message is only .10, I think Cingular is being a little "slick" and getting customers to pay for something else, without them knowing! I do admit, that it is my fault for not asking the rep, before purchasing a plan, but it's not something I would have thought to ask, being that with ATT I was never charged for incoming messages!

WSJ Article about the 4th quarter Complaints by the FCC

cingular= 4.6 complaints out of 100k customers
tmobile= 4.3 complaints
nextel= 2.3 complaints
sprint= 3.6 complaints
verizon= 1.4 complaints

I would post the whole thing, however, it is too long.

Any discussions please share.

By the way its from the 4th quarter of 2004.

The Travesty That Is Phonescoop

Lets stop the flame wars.... they get tiresome after a short while.

If you have multiple log-ins (WE KNOW WHO YOU ARE) please stop having conversations with yourself. Its pathetic. This forum used to have so much useful info... Now it doesn't. It has Nextel users flinging crap around. It has StarWars junkies thinking they know the secret of the universe. It has ATTWS Techs thinking they know how Cingular works.

Get your facts straight & stop flaming out.

Its no fun being here sometimes... Hence

MY MISTAKE

In my previous post I posted wrong information I completely retract the statements I made about combined billing. Cingular is not the only national carrier that offers combined billing.
