850 or 1900

How can I tell if I am in a Cingular 850 area or a 1900 area? Are there any certain digits that differenciate the two on the sim cards?

And a totally different question all together: How much longer until network integration is complete?

New SIM vs 64k SIM

Ok, I am the type of guy who likes to have the latest of latest. That being said, I wonder. What's the difference between the new national SIM and the 64k SIM. I'd like to activate the "new" SIM and put it in my phone. What do you guys think? Should I? Should I not? will I notice any improvements? any advise is appreciated. 🙂

I hate adding fuel to the fire, but I found this in a recent post in the news section of Phonescoop & it made sense to me.

Ladies and gentleman. My esteemed colleagues. Rich.

I bring to you somewhat startling facts about Consumer Reports.

Consumer Reports bases their results off of surveys to their SUSCRIBERS! 80% of their subscribers are white collar or suburban families.

This is important because that means alot of lower middle, working class, minorities, etc are not surveyed. In fact it plays directly into Verizon Wireless' breadbasket.

If you ask someone on the street weather they prefer Verizon's pre paid offering or Cingular's more hybrid Go Phone, which do you think they will choose

Sprint COO: No Impact From Cingular-AT&T Wireless Merger

http://www.cellular-news.com/story/12431.shtml »

NEW YORK -(Dow Jones)- The combination between Cingular Wireless and AT&T Wireless hasn't had any impact on Sprint Corp. (FON), despite concerns, said President and Chief Operating Officer Len Lauer.

Cingular, which acquired AT&T Wireless last year, came out with impressive fourth-quarter numbers, spurring fears that the other carriers had lost customers. That wasn't the case, Lauer said during an investor presentation at a Banc of America Securities conference in New York on Wednesday. Cingular is a joint venture between SBC Communications Inc. (SBC) and BellSouth Corp. (BLS).

WARNING: NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART!

Cingular lands highest number of 2004 consumer complaints, says CU
By Heather Forsgren Weaver
Mar 29, 2005
Consumers Union said Monday that customers considering a switch in wireless carriers should first consider Verizon Wireless and not consider Cingular Wireless L.L.C., due to the number of complaints the Federal Communications Commission received-288.9 Cingular complaints per 1 million subscribers.
"If you're considering a change of wireless carrier, you may want to look first to Verizon. It had the lowest number of complaints per customer among national carriers, and among all the carriers, relatively few complaints about service quality and billing," said Consumers Union.

Any rep from welland, niles, or pensacola... READ THIS!

Why do you continue to blind transfer into the help desk and give out the direct number to the help desk!?

I mean how many times must you be told not to do it before you stop? I had the pleasure of meeting some of your Operations Managers and Liasons... They don't seem like idiots... Is it just the West Employees?

I hate to generalize but it's become such a problem I don't think it's only a handful that are doing it...

THE AWS TECH GUY WAS RIGHT ABOUT THE MIGRATIONS

I work for Cingular, formerly AWS....and effective now basically customers CANNOT migrate back, as all of the old AWS plans have expired and are no longer available in the billing systems, so basically yes...once you migrate to Cingular, your old ATTWS account is gone. Everyone knew this was going to eventually happen...why such the fuss now?

Blue to Orange Migrated

I asked this awhile back in another post, but I never really got an answer so I figured i'd ask again. Anybody here know how many blue customers, or what percentage of blue customers have migrated to orange since the merger? This is not including altogether new activations.

Professional Courtesy

My rant for the day revolves around a customer that just left my store.

She wants an upgrade (which she's eligible for) and a new line. FINE I'll be happy to help ya! BUT what she didn't mention is that after everything I say she's gonna call up her niece out of state (who's apparently a Cingular rep) and second guess EVERYTHING right in frickin front of me. I offer 2 z500's for $89.99 BEFORE rebates and she calls to find out if it's a good deal....then complains, loudly, that I'm not gonna GIVE her any accessories. Now maybe I'm nutty, but that sounds like a pretty damned good deal. Then you want me to GIVE you accessories?!?!?!?! No thanks, I like having a job.

So she finally decides she's gonna get 2 6010's (even though she'...

I love Cingular but....

There's this road when I'm about to get to my house where I always have problems. This is what happens: I drive down this road and while I'm on the phone I reach a point when I lose the person on the other end (call doesn't drop though) I look at my phone and the counter keeps going, so about 5 or 6 seconds later I can hear the other end for a bit, I lose it for another 2 or 3 seconds and I get them again. Now here's where the problem comes in, sometimes after I get over all this drama I can hear the people on the other end, but they can't hear me. Other times the call keeps going just fine after I go thru that area. My question is. Why does this happen? Is it that I go thru an area where the hand off is poor? or is it that maybe the transit...

Treo 650+Cingular

Cingular does not insure any PDA phone, including the Tteo.

The Treo 650 screen cracks at the slightest jarring. Not covered by the warranty.

PalmOne does NOT do exchange-repairs. So you're out $179 and a phone for 1 week+ when this happens.

LG 7200

Just got an email from my manager, I guess Cingular is getting the LG 7200 with PTT from kodiak. I don't know about anyone else, but all i need is one more person coming into my store asking, got them bloop-bloop phones." I think cingular should focus more on rolling UMTS and leave the walkie-talkie's to nextel.
