Tower problems.

So the last couple of weeks I've noticed that I can't get the same signal quality at home like I normally do. Half of the conversations are spent with "huh, whu?" and "Can you hear me now?"

At first I thought it was my Blackberry Curve. I returned the Pearl to get the Curve because the Pearl kept dropping calls and the battery life was terrible. Well today when I called customer care over a separate issue, I mentioned the service problems I've been having. The rep looked at my area and told me that all three towers that serve my area's cell were badly degraded.

The scheduled maintenance for all three towers are tonight at different times. I certainly hope the technicians are able to repair the towers tonight without any hitches, A...

Ouch, Apple-AT&T: Hints of Strain

The largest, for many, is the faulty reliability of AT&T's network. Owners of iPhones are quick to complain about dropped calls, poor call quality, and slow performance of the data network. Many I know carry a second phone primarily for voice calls, and more often than not that voice phone runs on the network of Verizon Wireless, which is owned by Verizon Communications (VZ) and Vodafone (VOD).

I would not want to have been an AT&T employee at Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference. There were at least three moments when comments by Apple (AAPL) executives betrayed thinly veiled criticism of the phone company, leavi

Outage. Tampa FL?

Could this be it? 🙂 AT&T allocating the network in my area for tomorrow? I woke up at 5am and my Bold shows 3g (instead of 3G) I can place phone calls just fine, but can't get on the internet. Yep, I rebooted the phone, so it's not that. I'm a bit excited, since I think this is no outage, but AT&T working on something. If anyone knows anything about what's going in FL please spill the beans./../

iPhone 3G

Does anyone know of an application that will flash the screen on and off when I miss a call or text message, similar to the LED indicator on a Blackberry?

Thanks in advance!

ATT's implementing some N-SET software

This looks like it'll be helpful to those like myself who browse the web a lot on my phone, this software is suppose to free up 3G and route voice traffic over 2G, thus freeing up bandwidth to use 3G for data. This should've been done a long time ago.

Contact phone plan without signing a contract?

I'm currently (and always have been) paying month-to-month with another service provider using one of their standard phone plans. This is NOT the pay-as-you-go deals, but a regular phone plan. I've never had a contract with them. I just bought a cheapish phone off of eBay and started service without subsidizing a phone from them and thus not needing a contract.

Can this be done with AT&T as well? I have a Cingular branded Motorola phone that my girlfriend gave me. Can I take this into an AT&T store and get setup with a standard phone plan (the $39.99/450 minutes plan) and just pay month-to-month without a contract? Then, should I decide I want to go back to my previous carrier or another carrier, I can terminate at any time without any re...

What do you think......What would you do.....(Relates to us all)

Here we go.

1st off, people may or may not know that I work for an Indirect dealer who sells AT&T.
I have been with the company for about 3 years and they are decent to work for, I cannot complain.

We CANNOT SELL THE I-PHONE.

With that said, I have found many ways to sell "around" the I-Phone, and many things that I personally do not like about the phone. Recently I have accepted the relevance of the I-Phone, and how many sales I am actually missing out on.

So, (Here Goes)

Within the last week, I have had about 30 people, (8 in one day) come into my store and want the I-phone 3G or to talk about the New one commming out.

I am a HUGE unlocked Nokia & Sony Fan, as well as a great supporter of the B.Berry Bold. I have a p...

LG Xenon, Samsung Impression, or Samsung Eternity?

These are the three phones I've narrowed things down to. I honestly don't need anything special. I really will only use the phone for making calls and texting. So I suppose I'm looking for the phone with the best call reception, easiest texting, and the highest durability. The last one (durability) is probably the most important. If I'm going to be locked into a contract with this phone for 2 years, I'm going to need it to remain functional throughout.

Also, I would like it to have a good calendar with alarms, scheduling, adding notes, etc. I tend to use my phone as a planner of sorts, so I need it to have these features. I've read the manuals for the two Samsungs, but I can't seem to find the Xenon manual (none of the downloads work). Th...

How much to get out of my AT&T contract?

Lets say I buy a new iphone 3G S for $200 and sign a new $90/month 2 years contract and I port my VZW number to this new phone. Then 6 months from now I want to leave AT&T. Is the ETF ($150-$175) all I have to pay to get out and port my number to another carrier. I would also own the iphone which I could sell. Or is this more complicated?

Upgrade - iPhone 3G to iPhone 3GS

So when iPhone 3G rolled out I believe you could upgrade from 2G to 3G at the $299 contract price rather than the $499 not eligible price no matter what time frame you were on. Will this be true with the 3GS, like if I have 3G, purchased in February, can I upgrade to 3GS and get it for $299?

The first Iphone

Does anyone know what the first Iphone looked like? I had one about 10 years ago. It was a house phone with a 5 inch screen and a computer keyboard. It was a computer and a phone, and they called it the Iphone.. Something to think about. It was a peice of junk though. Anyway, just wondering.

Upgrade Question...Yes, it is iPhone related

I have two lines on my account. The primary line (my line) isn't eligible for upgrade until Jan. 2010. The other line is eligible August of this year.

My question is:

Could I upgrade to an iPhone on the second line and use it on the primary line?

I do this all the time with other phones as the secondary line is my grandmothers and she doesn't care what phone she has. However, I remember that with the original iPhone, you could only use the SIM card assigned to the phone.
