ATT TO VERIZON

I have had att for a year. But for the past 3-4 months service has been really crappy! Ive been in areas with completely no service! I called customer care and escalated it to account serivces where they told me that the towers in my area have been going through upgrades and that they should have been completed. I ask why am I getting no service in areas that are stated have service she told me that it was probly my phone and that she would give me an early upgrade if I extend my contract for 2 more years! Ive been test driving verizon for the past 2 1/2 weeks and service has been great! coverage everywhere! Now the question still stands upgrade for 2 more years with att and see what happens or cancel and say hello to verizon???

Also i ha...

JAIL BREAKING MY IPHONE

Hey guys I'm currently in a contract with AT&T with my iPhone. Ive had it for a few months now and I'm thinking about getting it jail broke. I have concerns about what it does to the warranty if i ever have to use it does it completely void it? Also does it mess up anything system wise? I just don't want to do it and have something go wrong with the phone, and because i jail broke it, I'm **** out of luck. Whats your guys take on this?

Upgrade question

I currently have an AT&T Tilt, national family plan with data. My wife just has a Razr. My wifes phone has an upgrade available. Is it possible to upgrade her phone to an iphone and transfer the number to my phone? In other words I get the iphone and my original number. I know I can't just move the SIM like I've done in the past. I'm sure it would take some creative accounting but it seems to me it would make sense since it would lock us in for two more years and AT&T would still get my money.

Iphone 3gs vrs Palm Pre

Pre beats iPhone 3GS in 2 of 3 speed tests
Do you know someone who has the need for speed? If so, they'd better get a Pre.

CNET recently conducted 3 speed tests in San Francisco among Pre, iPhone 3GS and iPhone 3G. Guess which phone won 2 of the 3 tests? Pre, of course.

CNET found Pre was fastest at loading a Web page. Pre users can browse the Web faster to get important information quickly and can load multiple pages with activity cards that let you truly multi-task.

Pre also won CNET's speed test for sending a picture message. They say a picture is worth a thousand words, and the Pre gets the message across faster.

Saw it on Cnet, cant post a link right now because of work, will post later, or you can search

Nokia e71x extended battery...

Probably a dumb question but I'd rather be safe than sorry especially when it comes to polymer batteries... Was looking to get an extended battery for my e71x but all I see available is for the original e71. I am assuming it's compromable, here's the link... http://www.mugen-power-batteries.com/product_ info.php?products_id=503

Even BGR is reporting that ATT "might" be getting SE C905! ! !

BGR even has a date: July 19th. Really not that far away.

AT&T showing a lot of signs of improvements in Tampa FL.

Recently....

Video Streaming: great! no buffering whatsoever. Today a 9 min video played all the way through

Browse and Talk: I had a call that required me to launch a website, create an ID, then log on to it, then do whatever I needed to do. This whole thing took about 10 mins, and I was able to maintain the call. Had I done this just a month ago, that call would had dropped as soon as my phone switched to EDGE after requesting the 3rd or 4th page.

No dropped calls for more than 2 weeks. (I never experienced garbled calls, but sometimes all of sudden they'd drop. No anymore)

Even though my phone still switches to EDGE, it does it after the data session is finished. Example: If I watch a CV video, and after the video ends, I go ...

I got my Brand New BOLD yesterday!

Holy Crap I love my new BB Bold. It is so much easier to use because the keyboard is bigger and more spread out than my curve 8900. I'm the happiest I've been in years and finally feel satisfied. Only thing that pisses me off is that everyone I show it to says, "Why is it so big???" All of my friends are holding out for the Tour from Sprint, but I'm finally happy 🙂 🙂 🙂

Pay Per Use (PPU) data rates

I am with at&t and I like their service EXCEPT:

For the most part, at&t and Verizon Wireless have similar plans and offerings. Yet the pay per use data rate for at&t is 5 times higher than Verizon Wireless.

I don't need (or can afford) $30 / month for a full data plan, yet I would use data infrequently if it were $2 / MB instead of $10. At least they would be making more money from me than zero.

I sent a hardcopy letter to at&t but I'm not hopeful I will get a good answer to my question. Anybody here have any good reasons for the price difference?

Apple Stuck Apologizing For AT&T Yet Again With A $30 iTunes Credit
MG Siegler on June 21, 2009
We’ve received a few tips of people saying they’ve gotten an email from Apple offering them a $30 iTunes Store credit due to the problems activating the new iPhone 3G S. Apple claims it is still working with AT&T to resolve the issue that has caused some new iPhones to still not be activated 2 days after the launch of the device. And it warns that it may be another 48 hours before it’s resolved. For those affected, check your inbox Monday for the $30 credit.

To me, this is yet another indication of why Apple n

New ATT Guy Here!

I've had every major carrier for my cell phone service, but mainly I had Sprint for about 9 years. I was so excited when the Blackberry Tour was announced and it's less than 8 days away from being here. Well, Sprint pissed me off yesterday and I couldn't take it anymore. After 9 long years, I told them and their non speaking english rude customer service idiots to shove it and I left. Even paid the $200 ETF to leave! Went to ATT, got me a BB Curve 8900 (although I really wanted the Bold) and now I'm happy. Only thing I don't understand is why ATT is soooo expensive on their phone prices. I paid $249 up front for the new curve 8900. I would have had to pay $399 for the new Bold, but I just couldn't afford that. Maybe later on down th...

Sony Ericsson C905: CONFIRMED with PROOF

Sony Ericsson C905 will be released through AT&T. I cannot confirm if it will actually be 8 MP Camera though. I have a feeling AT&T will drop it down to 5, but the price point is high and I believe is for the 8MP Camera Phone.

*I was just ask to attend a special training seminar on the use of the Camera through AT&T in my region*

Our store will get a live demo version since I am attending.

I have previously owned the K850i (5MP Cam) so this should be fun to get my hands on the AT&T branded phone.

C905
-8 MP Camera/ Video
-MP3 & Movie Player
-Email, Full Browser
Etc...Etc..

Can you apply a Family text plan if one phone is an iPhone?

I was playing around on the ATT website to see what it would cost me if I move to ATT when my current contract expires.

While running through the options, I noticed that there were two seperate texting options, one for the iPhone and one under family voice plan.

So, my question is...if I have an iPhone and another "normal" phone on my family plan, can I use the family messaging to cover both phones, or do I have to get seperate messaging options for each phone?

$1000.00 Iphone?

Well at&t wants an 800.00 deposit from me since my ex screwed me over with the bill and I couldn't pay it...

im trying to rationalize that the iphone is worth 1000.00 and that having an 800.00 savings account for a year would be great...but im not so sure....

I doubt it...but I guess live and learn...food for thought....

Corporate Discount with iPhone?

Do corporate discounts apply when buying an iPhone? I'm currently with AT&T and am thinking about upgrading to the new iPhone. I currently have a 25% discount (USPS). Will I lose this?
