My father is switching over from Verizon and needs a new phone. He needs a semi durable- easy to use flip phone. I think he'd like either the rugby or maybe the new Nokia that's coming out... Any advise? Does anybody know when the new Nokia flip phone is coming out?

I'm trying to find out what taxes i should expect to pay if i order a phone from the UK. I found an HTC hero for cheaper then the ones selling in the states but if the taxes are to high it wont be worth it. Any info would be greatly appreciated. thanks

A consumerist reader who works with a company a company that gets a 25% discount from ATT tried to set up her discount after having signed a two year contract only to find out there would be a $36 activation fee for adding the discount.

From her letter:

No problem, there is a store near my home. I called on Wednesday, and went to the store on Friday. I know they will want employment verification so I bring my name badge, photo id, the paper with the discount code. Go in and the man at the desk goes about setting me up. Then he says this "There is an activation fee of $36 to add this discount to your account."

Why doesn't AT&T make it simple and have on all wireless plans:

unlimited calling to all AT&T wireless and landline customers?

I purchased the Motorola Q9h Global Last November. Don't ask me why I purchased it, cuz win mo is horrible. Now I really want the iphone, and I don't have a upgrade till December. What is the best way of getting one, and I don't think it's that great of a phone to pay full price. Any idea's or help

The title pretty much says what I'm looking for. The cheaper the better, definitely don't want to pay more than $100. It does need a qwerty keyboard though, and I'd rather it not be a bulky monstrosity.

Also buying used on ebay is just fine with me.

Like.. 3 days ago i got a call from the at&t store.. which is weird.. the manager called me and ask how my service was and checked on me. which thats great! then he said in a couple of days i will experience drop calls and some outages cause there updating there towers. I have 3G at home but only about 2 bars. I get 3G everywhere, but when i go to basements or lower level places it switches from 3G to EDGE. Today.. I woke up looked at my iphone, full 5 bars of 3G!!! this is awesome! AT&T has stepped it up! I turned my phone off and on, then switch from EDGE to 3G, and wow! I still have full 3G!! and now everywhere i go even lower level places 3G full!!

Has anybody heard anything about when AT&T will carry android? I read an article on engadget that said something about august a couple of months ago but haven't heard anything sense??????

i have an iphone 3gs. i am currently overseas. in greece to be exact. i have turned of data roaming and 3g. however, i am still connected to wifi at the house i am staying at. will i be charged roaming if i am on wifi? this may sound like a dumb question, but i want to make sure before i get charged a ton on my bill. i'm assuming since i turned off data roaming and 3g i should be fine, but i just need to make sure. thanks in advance.

First of all I have had AT&T for over 5 years and I have loved their coverage here in northern Indiana. 2 months ago I decided to go with the Bold mainly because of the 3G. For the past 2 months I have been very disapointed with the internet. It runs VERY slow and I now drop calls. I didn't have this problem before. I just called and cancelled my data plan last night hoping that will help with my dropped calls because I heard that AT&T will drop you from 3G if you don't have a data plan and low and behold as of today my phone now says Edge, so all the rumors were true and here at work it has dropped to GSM. What the heck is going on????????? I am thinking I made a mistake sticking with AT&T. Does anyone have any oppinions as to what I can do...

ATT really needs to have higher standards, the SE C905 is a step in the right direction. And don't give me this they give the consumer what the consumer wants. Consumers ONLY know what ATT "offers". The avg consumers doesn't know anything else except what ATT offers.

Effective Aug 2, I am cancelling two lines of service with AT&T and moving them to Verizon because of the horrible reception and lack of customer service both in store and on the phone. When I originally signed my contract, I agreed to a number of terms, including a process in which to deal with any problems I might occur. A couple month's ago, AT&T made a physical change to that process and sent out a little booklet with the new terms. I tried calling in and telling them I didn't agree with this, but nobody knew how you could not agree. Now I'm ready to cancel and AT&T will not remove the termination fees because they say it isn't a physical change, and if I dispute it I must go through the new arbitration system which requires a ...
