OK it's that time again. I have an upgrade coming my way and I can get a new phone for cheap. I am looking to get a phone (not a smartphone/iphone). I want a phone with lots of cool/stupid features. I've been looking at the samsung 3 touchscreens currently out.

In the past I've had nokias motorolas and samsungs in the past. I've found I had to deal with lots of BS when I had my 1 samsung (Sync). I had to cut mp3's down to 300mb to be ringtones, I had to convert mp3s into some crazy format to use them as text message alerts and now i've discovered that this is still the case for the 3 samsung touchscreens currently offered. Add to that I've discovered that none of them have a numberpad speed dial feature.

I am think about getting an iphone but I know that mms was not going to work until later this summer, well its pretty late in the summer, so does it work yet?

I've been looking at a couple of unlocked HTC phones, any issues I need to be aware of?

The models I've been looking at are:

Touch HD T8282 3G
Touch Diamond2 International Version
Touch Pro2 International Version

I got the new software upgrade yesterday and ever since then my Bold has not switched to EDGE. Not even once! Videos play from begining to end, no buffering at all! I guess it was the phone and not AT&T after all. Visual Voicemail is ok too.

Hi, I went to the AT&T store to pick up my iphone and they said they could port my number from Tracfone. When they tried the number it showed up as a AT&T number and they were unable to port it. Is it possible to port from Tracfone?

I had Cingular for about 5 years during and after college , at which point I was asked to find another provider because I lived outside the home area.

No big Deal, I have always had great service (4-5 bars all the time) in my home with 850 MHz so I switched over to centennial and never had a problem with service there either, except customer service, but that is a completely different story.

So my centennial contract is back up for renewal and AT&T is buying them out so I figure I'm gonna get changed over to AT&T with the buyout and they have been in my area for a little over a year.

I get the iPhone and my wife got the SE W760a. Service in our home has been nothing but poor since we got our new phones almost two weeks ago. ...

German hackers crack GSM encryption

The Chaos Computer Club has told the FT (Financial Times) that in the couple of months it will be releasing code capable of cracking GSM with just a laptop and an antenna.

In comments made to the German edition of the Financial Times, the hacking group claims that governments, and criminals, are already using the technique which can break the encryption used to protect 2G GSM calls in near-real time using existing systems. The group says a public exposure of the technique will take place in the next month or two...

Does AT&T's Fuze come loaded with Opera Mobile like other variations of the Touch Pro do?

Why is it that when I try to call someone back I get the "Call failed" message on my phone? I try and try to make a call and I get the same message for about a minute and then it finally rings through?

I have had this happen on every single phone I've used on your network in the last four months and it is getting old fast.

Why is There no unlimited data plan for Pick your plan or prepaid no more. I wanted to use a smartphone or another type for it. People will blow through 100mb in a second. That sucks.

I am considering the Samsung Impression and I have seen quite a few reviews stating that the phone freezes up during texting. Have any of you encountered this?

I wonder what AT&T Mobility Corporate would think about there own employees posting the crap they pull to on their customers, or in general the opinions of what is said here. I'm sure most of you would not be employed if they knew who you where.

We were having a discussion around the water cooler the other day and no one seemed to know the answer. So I'm throwing the question out here. Is there such a thing as an AT&T franchise store? I'm not talking about an indirect location. I mean are there stores out there that look just like a corp store but are actually not owned by corp? Are there franchise owner operators of AT&T stores? Are there franchise locations that do all the same things as corp stores? Just wondering...hearing rumors that VZW may be going this route.

I'm not normally one to bitch and complain but this is out of hand. I tried calling att uverse regarding my account today and after going thru the voice automated system they transfer me to the att wireless department who obviously is unable to help with anything regarding my uverse account. Does anyone know a number that I can call about my uverse service where I can talk to a real person other then wireless customer service? Any advice would be appreciated.

Hey everyone, me, my brother and sister have moved here to dallas, from ontario, canada. We are currently using Rogers for our service, ofcoarse we are roaming. Rogers is GSM, so we would prefer to use GSM. I have phones that i brought over from canada, we have the blackberry bold, and curve, we will get a third phone from the carrier. I heard a lot of good stuff about at&t good and bad. and we heard stuff about t-mobile also. since they are the only GSM carriers here in the US. What do you guys think? I thought I would post in a forum about at&t and tell everyone there that works for, loves, and uses at&t that their company sucks. Why would I do this? Because it makes me feel tough, sitting behind my safe computer screen offending people. I don't know if it's just me or this company is going downhill fast. I used to really enjoy working for AT&T, but it seems as though anymore all they do is cut our commissions and raise our goals to unrealistic amounts.

They talk about winning "best in class", while their customer care hangs up on customers and store employees don't seem to care either because the company doesn't care about them.
Work has become more of a burden over the last year than it has ever been, it's not that I am burned out of sales I still really love my job it's just that I hate working for a company that treats it's employees like they don't matter.

Another thing that gets me is the rate plans, they are not at all competitive. I guess they think that sin...
