iPhone Slowing AT&T Network?
Sources of Barrons and WSJ
By Eric Savitz
I see a trend.
Back in July, I wrote a post based on a Bernstein Research report which considered the question of whether the Apple (AAPL) iPhone has been a blessing or a curse for AT&T (T), citing among other factors the strain the data-happy iPhone users are placing on the company’s 3G network. The theme cropped up again earlier this week, in a Heard on the Street column in the Wall Street Journal, which asserted that AT&T is not getting much out of its position as the exclusive U.S. iPhone carrier.
This morning, the New York Times picked up on the meme, with a story asserting that ...

Weekend with AT&T
As you all know from my recent post, i recently moved to dallas from ontario, canada. In canada I have GSM carrier rogers, so i wanna be with GSM plus i have an unlocked BOLD. So I recently signed up with AT&T and using there service now. I would have to say there service and coverage is excellent. I am very happy.
This past weekend me, my sister and 4 others from our church went camping. We went to san antonio, tx to gardner state park. me, my sister have blackberries on AT&T, the other 4, 3 had verizon and the last person has boost mobile. And this is to all verizon fan people out there, me and my sister (AT&T) had full coverage, full bars, we were in a the woods. our friends who has verizon, were searching for service or h...

iPhone - The Hummer Of Cellphones
Customers Angered as iPhones Overload AT&T
By JENNA WORTHAM
Slim and sleek as it is, the iPhone is really the Hummer of cellphones.
It’s a data guzzler. Owners use them like minicomputers, which they are, and use them a lot. Not only do iPhone owners download applications, stream music and videos and browse the Web at higher rates than the average smartphone user, but the average iPhone owner can also use 10 times the network capacity used by the average smartphone user.
“They don’t even realize how much data they’re using,†said Gene Munster, a senior securities analyst with Piper Jaffray.
The result is dropped calls, ...

2100 MHz
I think 2100 is used in Europe for 3G?
Will AT&T use 2100 for 3G in the future?
I travel to Europe a lot. Will be nice to have:
GSM - Quad Band World Phone - 850/900/1800/1900
3G - Tri Band World Phone - 850/1900/2100
Any clarification on 2100 MHz and where it is used would be great...thanks...
AT&T has 20 days left...
Autumn begins on Tuesday, September 22, 2009.
Twenty days and counting, AT&T...
PLACE YOUR BETS FOLKS!
I bet ten bucks we'll see the autumnal equinox before we see an announcement from AT&T that MMS and Tethering are ready to go for the iPhone 3 G S.
Enterprise package for the blackberry 8900
thanks,
One of two things will happen
1. They're right and at&t's customer base drops by millions (meaning less people on the network.)
2. They're wrong, few people leave at&t and we get to laugh at all the people that said at&t would suffer.
Kinda seems like a win win situation to me. 😁
So dissappointed in ATT
Verizon cares about it's customers so much.. they want more money off of them! Can you pay me now??
Verizon cares about there customers so much that they like to nickel and dime them to death!! Can you pay me now?... Good!!
If they do this to regular phones... what would happen if they get the iphone.. they'll go nuts with the prices..
40-50 dollars data.. yeah.

att_iphoneAnother point worth pulling out from Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster’s recent research note about Apple, this one regarding AT&T’s iPhone-exclusivity deal: Munster doesn’t see it lasting much beyond this year. Apple (AAPL) is slowly transitioning the countries in which it sells the iPhone to a multicarrier model and the United States is at the top of its list.
“We expect Apple to add new iPhone carriers in the U.S. within the next year (likely ...

3g war results!
Harsh words.
Such a fate would be disastrous for AT&T. As an iPhone owner myself, I would quickly switch over to Verizon at that time, my carrier before the iPhone. I can never remember Verizon dropping one of my calls in five years. AT&T, on the other hand, drops my calls regularly. It has enhanced its network noticeably since I got an iPhone last year, but their network still leaves much to be desired.

AT&T, iPhone users face months of spotty service

DENVER - Frustrated customers are being told to expect poor signal quality and dropped calls through the end of September as the network upgrades equipment.
A service representative in Denver told 9NEWS customers using AT&T's 3G network with a seven to ten mile radius of the Washington Park neighborhood will be impacted. That area includes parts of Downtown Denver, LoDo and Cherry Creek.
Another local store employee said the network upgrades causing the service outages are in response to "months and months of coverage problems," especially in LoDo.
An AT&T spokeswoman would not offer specifics on t...

I even successfully configured the browser for Media Net!
I love the Sonim XP# Quest.
That is all.
Updates: I am now noticing fewer dropped calls.
Here is the problem I have
So I called AT&T customer care today from my phone...
lol. My phone dropped the call. I dialed 611 a second time and it went through just fine.
That is all.
No really, that is all.
