Frinkin Tmo requires the extension of a contract if you make a change to your rate plan, but NOT ATT!!! Contacts are SUPPOSE to be for equipment upgrades ONLY!!! Not rate plan changes.

Anyway, I just wanted to say that I like having the freedom of being able to change my rate plan at ANY time with ATT and not having to extend my contract!!! I've been contract free for 4yrs, and my mother has been contract free for 6 months.

I hate contracts, contracts are marriage to a business. Marriage is suppose to be with a woman, not a business. Whatever happened to earning a customer rather than binding them!!!


I really, really hope Nokia comes out with an 850/1900 3G version of the N900 or it's successor at some point in the future.

Does anyone that works for ATT know when the launch date is for 3G in Greenville, NC?

I just switched over to the E71x from a Bold. While I loved the voicedialing and email, recently I was having problems since the last firmware update. The phone kept restarting itself and I was having problems with the email. I have worked in wireless for the past 3 years and know a lot of the quick fixes but after winning a free E71x in a contest. The only question I have is does anyone have any cool apps for the Nokia that would be more business related? Either shoot me a PM or respond to the post.

I downloaded OS 3.1 and I'm trying to get my MMS working, but when I open itunes it never prompts me to update the carrier file.. is there a different way to do this?

Can you set your 10 people up through customer care or do you have to use the Internet? I called customer care, the guy advised me to go to the website, right now though I don't have the Internet at my house, and I really want to get those contacts set up 🙂

Update just hit, quick iTunes update and restart of the phone and voila! MMS!

Works well too, love it with the threaded messaging...

Does it work? I am curious. AT&T's website says it doesn't but I am wondering if they are jus saying that.

For those patiently waiting for AT&T's Microcell device, the hope of bringing more bars to your house might become reality shortly. Yahoo [via Engadget] is reporting that the 3G Microcell is expected to launch in the next few days in selected markets. While the full list of markets hasn't been announced, the initial launch is believed to include Atlanta, San Antonio, Seattle and North Carolina.

The Microcell has been in testing phases throughout the summer and full roll-out should be by the end of this year. The 3G tower will boost reception in homes with poor network coverage.

I just thought of this, I bought a Blackberry Bold w/service for $100 off www.Amazonwireless.com. And in the fine print somewhere I read I need to have service for 181 consecutive days for the discounted phone. But I’ve got a few ATT phones one of which I was going to use instead of the BB Bold.
So I’m assuming I just need to have service with ATT for the 181 days for the discount, it doesn’t matter what phone I use…?
I mean it’s not like ATT reports back to Amazon and says “Yep he’s kept his service but not with the phone he bought from you guys.”
I just don’t want to get nicked for using my own equipment and if it matters it’s a smartphone as well, so the plan will be the same....

Lets be real here. I came into this forum and all I read is Verizon rocks and AT&T sucks. iPhone is crap, then iPhone will be better on Verizon etc.. etc.. we all heard it.

Not all carriers are perfect, carriers will have there issues no matter what. Wireless is not reliable and will not replace your home landline. I came from verizon to at&t because I was displeased with verizon. Why? for one customer service that i have dealt with was horrendous. verizon CS has lack of experience. My bill is always messed up and being over charged. Calls were ok, no different than at&t. I had drop calls with verizon and there were places I did not have signal. So, the whole thing about the web video of the guy explaining why service sucks with ATT and all that stuff about the 850mHz spectrum...is that going to improve overall service for ATT or just for iPhones or what's the deal? Is that launched already in certain areas, like NYC, or will that roll out on Sept 25th with the update to use MMS on the iPhone bc I'm still getting crap service on my iPhone. Thanks in advance.

hey guys, im currently with verizon, but my service area kind of sucks. customer service is no help. and i been having problems with my phone. drop calls and static quality. i did an update and got phones switched out, so its the network. my contracts ends this saturday and i wanna switch to AT&T. I live in austin, tex. i know AT&T is really good here, i have friends and family that have them and really happy. I actually live 2 miles away from a at&t tower.

I wanna know when will the A-list plans come out? and what phone is good for text, email and web. I'm considering an iphone, but wanted to see if theres other phones out there worth looking at. I gotta have wifi, and bluetooth. As you can tell.. verizon phones dont have wifi and bluet...

I have a Nokia N95-3 as many of you may know, ever since I got thir JoikuSpot app on my phone that lets me use my N95 as a hotspot, I have been using my laptop a whole lot more, to watch videos.

My understanding of the 5GB data cap is that it only applies to "smartphones", and Laptop Connect. Am I correct?

My billing cycle closes at midnight tonight, I'm kinda nervous, I've gone quite a bit over 5GB's. But I keep thinking to myself maybe, just maybe I'll get lucky and
AT&T's billing system isn't setup to charge for over 5 gigs on "regular" phones. Only "smartphones" & usb dongles.

How could this be missed? Usually the system will not let you add features that can counteract with another another. please only reps respond, do not need a know it all opinion.
