observations of the 8100: pearl

the phone is much better than expected. I think anyone holding off purchasing a blackberry because of its lack of media services will have a strong interest in this phone.

I got the phone yesterday and outside of some cons I think its solid phone. The trackball is a strong improvment over the thumbwheel.

The battery cover feels horrendously cheap but its a nonissue unless ones dog or child takes a bite at it.

Suretype isnt as evil as you might think. I keep comparing texting times with my 8700 and it was not that much slower. Im sure as I get familar with the device my speed will improve.

The browsing experience is not that much different than the 8700. The screen is narrower so the pages are somewhat squished.

The s...

Please give me some help on this one.

I recently paid 350 for a Samsung T809. Wasn't satisfied with it because it felt cheap and the buttons were so sticky and fragile. So the next day I took it back for the T509. Wasn't satisfied with that AT ALL, felt that if it were to be dropped I wouldn't have much of a phone any more. The next day I again took the T509 back for the T809 again because this one's buttons weren't fragile and sticky. A few days after having it it wouldn't send picture messages and T-Mobile didn't help me with that one except for telling me to return it. After having it for a few days I notice finger prints just accumulated on it terribly. A lot of other things bothered me about the phone. So here I am, returning the T809 again for another new phone. ...

CAUTION: RUN... DON'T WALK ...AWAY FROM T-MOBILE

I recently lost my T-Mobile Blackberry which is maintained through my firm. I ordered a new 8700g directly from T-Mobile. I rely heavily on the email function in my work, and I explained to T-Mobile I would pay any necessary shipping costs to expedite the delivery.
The phone was ordered on 6/19/06, and I was promised the phone would be delivered on 6/22/06. After it didn't arrive on 6/22/06, I called T-Mobile, and they said it was on back order. They then told me the order was cancelled by someone in my office, and then I was later informed that the order was cancelled on 6/23/06 and reordered on 6/22/06? After finally accepting that my ordered phone was either in a time warp or I had travelled back in time, T-Mobile promised no l...

Good Bye T-Mobile, Good bye!

This has got to be the saddest day of the year for me. I have to leave T-Mobile. After 2 years of great service and very friendly CSRs I have to port my line over to Cingular and save some $$$. ๐Ÿ˜ข Cingular can now receive txt msgs from the country where my family lives so there is no reason for me to stay. If I ever have to leave Cingular I wouldn't think twice about coming back to you. It is such a shame.

Need help-not receiving a voicemail indicator

Wondering if someone out there could help me with this issue. I recently purchased an unlocked Nokia 7370 a few days ago. So far, everything is working fine--one rep @ T-Mobile tech support was extremely helpful (hopefully, this rep is reading this, because he mentioned during the conversation that he is a regular on Phonescoop). Anyway, the rep helped me with loading the T-Zones and multimedia messaging on the phone.

Anyway, each time I receive a call and someone leaves a message, the only way I know that someone left a message is that I have to ACTUALLY call my voicemail and see--no indicator (like a picture of a tape, as the Nokia manual indicates) appears. In the course of 2 days, I spoke to at least 4 different reps who could not hel...

Buzz Noise in V360 (Desperate Owner)

am a owner of a Motorola v360 provided by serviced by Tmobile and I have searched this forum about the buzzing noise issue and all I found are "heated" back and forth replies between GSM and CDMA users.

Nevertheless, I came to understand that the noise is pretty much a common issue in GSM phones but I have hard time swallowing it. Before the V360 I had a Siemens CF62T and a sharp TM150, and I never experienced anything like what i'm experiencing now. Actually I didn't even know bout all this noise issue

I get the buzzing noise all the time (which can be heard at the other end of the line also) and almost every where: In front of my computer, speakers, away from the previously mentionned or tv. I get the noise at home, at work, at the ...

RIMM BB 7105t vs. RIMM BB 8700g

Ok everyone from my other posts on this forum, you all will come to know that I've not had anything remotely resembling a great experience with the RIMM BB 7105t. Thus, this screams out and warrants the question: Is the RIMM BB 8700g far and away better than the RIMM BB 7105t? Is it fair for me to have much higher expectations from the former as compared to the latter (i.e., BB 8700g more than the BB 7105t)?

I am already aware that the BB 8100 is said to be releasing towards the end of September 2006 but this replacement that I'm doing with the 8700g in place of my 7105t is being done by my company's corporate sales rep due to the frustrations I've been facing with the 7105t (i.e., I'm getting JVM Errors and UnCaught Exception Errors...
