We currently have Verizon but are looking to switch to T-Mobile as soon as my daughter's phone contract is up. We have three lines and two will be finished with the contract soon and her's will be up a few months after that. Verizon no longer will give us $50 towards a new phone after two years. They will only give that for the main line. What is T-Mobile's policy?

So I have a Nokia 6133 with TMo and it is starting to take a dump on me. I'm wanting to buy the wing, but they want $370 for it at the store, which by all accounts is pretty cheap for that phone, but still steep. My question is, if I get an old, perhaps damaged one, and put an insurance claim on it, could I get a possibly new or refurb one in good condition from the insurance company? If there is anyway to swing this, I'm all about it. Thanks.

I have T-mobile and would like to explore maybe getting an unlocked phone from some other manufacturer, perhaps not even a US one. Is it safe to use an unlocked phone on T-mobile? Will Myfaves still work? Will the web and all that work? Thanks for the input!

Connecting your phone to your laptop will provide you with a feature called "Tethering". You can connect your T-Mobile phone to your computer with a USB cable. (Comes in box with Blackberries. Ebay for other phones.)
As long as you have an unlimited wireless internet plan (19.99 and up only) you can get wireless internet on your laptop! (Phone as modem feature) Other carriers will make you pay extra to do this.

This is how you do it. (PC only, running Windows)

Click Start, Control Panel, Phone and Modem Options, Modems Tab.
Highlight Standard Modem and click Properties.
Click the Advance Tab.
Enter in the Extra Initialization Command field:
+cgdcont=1,"IP","wap.voicestream.com" .
Click Ok.
Create the Dial up Networking

i got a text telling me my services were suspended and i'm paying on friday. my e-mail is turned off on my blackberry but yet i can still use my opera mini. my question is am i gonna get charged for using text msg or my opera internet even though it's in my plan and my phone is supposedly "suspended"?

I read that you could buy your phone outright and get no commitment in Consumer Reports, the Jan or Dec issue. At least, that's what I read.

Further studies conducted by me calling customer support for each carrier gave me THIS information:

Sprint: will make you sign a two year commit if you bring in your own sprint phone. (Jerks.) So if you plan on signing up, at least get a free phone with your two year contract, then switch out the phone and sell it on ebay.

Alltel: will let you on a current price plan with no commitment. (This company has some things going well for them.)

T-Mobile: They will make you sign a one year agreement if you bring in your own phone. OR you can do "Flexpay", where you just pay the first month outright....

are you allowed to send and recieve files and use them? like if my buddy sent me a ringtone through BT, could i use that as a ringtone?

is the battery life strong? i heard its talk time is pretty solid, but over a long period time, 2 days lets say, am i going to struggle through those 2 days without charge?

Why is T-mob releasing their first 3G phones in the low end spectrum ? What crack are they smoking ?! Who cares that you have a super fast network on a phone with no OS, poor browser, no multimedia streaming capabilities, no secondary camera for video calls. The folks who are buying these phone will most likely not be using data to any serious extent, with exception to downloading ringtones. But you can do that just fine with the current Edge network. You really only need the new Spectrum for higher end phones and PDAs.

so i used to have a dash, then the screen got cracked, but at the time i was broke and couldn't afford the deductable for the insurance, and now its past 30 days and i can't file a claim(actually i tried, but got denied) and what i wanna know, is there any tricky t-mobile witch craft that can get me a phone comparable to the dash without paying full price, because them things are expensive if you're not a new customer.
