Benefit to buying at store?

I'm curious. I have a Sprint plan for our small business that has 9 lines and we share a pool of minutes. We are going to break off 4 of those into a separate plan as we have split business interests and need to have them segregated.

Now, I am thinking of going with T-Mo because the data plans seem to be a better deal than Sprint.

Is there a benefit to buying in the store as opposed to Amazon or something? 2 of the 4 phones I am moving to new service will be either a Wing or Dash and will have data plans, the other 2 will be the cheaper type or "freebie" phones. If I am getting data plans anyway, the Amazon price is much more attractive and the Dash is $ 0 as opposed to $149 after rebates thru T-Mo direct.

If I go to a T...

I DON'T BELIEVE PAGECOMM, WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK? SCAM??

I walked into a local pagecomm recently just to look and see what new phones sprint and t-mobile had. The guy asked me to sign up with sprint. Already having them, and terminating my contract on bad terms (Refusal To Pay).... And T-mobile too (Same thing, couldn't pay...) He told me he could get me t-mobile back with no deposit.

Im not believing him. My guess is that either A. He WONT use my social security number, or B. He will forge something else...

Is this a good idea to go back? Im guessing No....

Thanks!

Prepaid phone choice

Ok, since I use less than 150 min per month I will go with a prepaid plan. I don`t like the choice of prepaid phone from T-Mobile. What are my options?

1) Can I buy a Nokia 6010 (target 40$ + 60 min) and switch the SIM card in a phone that I buy on ebay (as long as it`s a GSM phone, previously used on T-Mobile)?

2) Can I buy a phone on ebay (as above) and just get a SIM card + then activate a prepaid plan? Where I would go for card and activation?

3) If I understood, I can also get any GSM phone and have it unlocked ... then switch the card ... true ?

Thank you for your help

EDGE not working...keeps going to GSM

i have a blackberry pearl.
i have a really bad habit of forgetting to pay my bill ☹️ (retarded on my part), but always pay it immediately once my service gets turned off...which has happened twice.
every time they cut my service off, my phone goes to GSM and will not switch back to EDGE no matter what i do (turn wireless off, take out battery, turn phone off). i have to call tech support everytime! and everytime they tell me i need a network update and it had nothing to do with my service being turned off.

anyone know what the deal is with that?

SORRY FOR ASKING: IS THE NOKIA E90 COMING TO T-MOBILE?

Hi to all the forum's people. BTW, i want you to know that if this question has been already answer, then my fault but i have not been able to find the answer to this stupid question. My daughter who is turning 20 in September of this year is really crazy for the nokia phones and she told me that the only thing that she wants for her b-day is this cell-phone. She is the kind of person who loves all gadgets and she really knows her stuff. Right now she has a HTC S710 and loves it like you have no idea but since she heard about the E90 she dreams about this thing and before i decide to buy it i would really like to know if it is true or not and if any of you have had any good experience with it. THANKS in advance to all the people who can hel...

DASH and accessing the internet "these days."

Long time T-mo customer here. I have the Dash. Recently, I haven't been able to access the internet. I have the T-zones plan, not the expensive internet plan. My former phone was an SDA and I hacked it to access the internet. When the SDA finally died, T-mo replaced it with the DASH and it accessed the net fine... until about a month or so ago. I finally got around to calling DASH technical support and got their typical song and dance about them finally updating their system and closing the hack hole, but I've heard this all before.

My question: What's the real story? Did they finally close the hackable port or can I still hack into the internet? If I can, can someone supply me the hack for the DASH, please? I'm way beyond my contract and...

New Pearl and V8

As if black and white isnt enough, t-mobile will be launching three new pearls on sept. 4th. Basically your getting the same phone in your choice of red, blue or gold. Aside from the color selection, its the same phone. Simply put no matter how many colors you release it in, its the same problematic phone, as obviously motorola should know from their past experiences. Which leads me to the next t-mobile news, all of you who are excited for the next razr, razr2, v8, whatever you decide to call it, it has a scheduled oct. 10th launch date, now we all know about the razr, either you have no problems, or have exchanged you phone like 12 times in a year. Looks like moto really stepped up their game with this new phone, was a little skeptical at ...

No 3G for awhile

I heard about the FCC approving (reapproving, whatever) the Samsung t639. Sounds like a TMo model number and it has 3G so you would think that 3G would be coming to TMo relativly soon. But then Moto announces the new Razr models, and what's that? a model without 3G just for TMo?????? Makes me think that we're not going to get 3G until the middle or end of '08. Or maybe not even that soon.
Do they not care about us techy types? Is it still their game plan to go after the cost consious consumers and keep expenses down? How do we really know they are installing 3G on their towers? All that money they paid for that bandwith could just have been an investment into the future, far future.

What gives?

Blackberry Curve for TM....

I've been told that September is the target month for T-Mobile to get the Blackberry Curve. I was told by 3 different TM reps via phone conversations after lengthy discussions regarding my account, service plan, etc.

The Curve is almost definitely my next phone. I currently use a Treo 650 and this BB looks good. I wish it had video capture and touchscreen, but since TM doesnt carry PALM anymore, the BB Curve is the way to go...............
