Taking a job with T-Mobile

I'm considering taking a sale job with T-Mobile at one of their retail stores. Does anyone know what T-Mobile's pay scale is like? Is their a base with an idea of commission but it keeps being talked up that with commission, the sky is the limit.

I'm in debate because I am also being considered a job with Verizon.

Do Unlocked Phones Work Well?

I do not see a phone Tmobile has that I like. The one I prefer is the Sony-Ericson W300. Of course that is a Cingular phone.
If I get this phone unlocked will it work as well as a true provider carrier phone?

T-mobile reports 3rd quarter 2006 earnings.

Since I am up and cannot sleep, I might as well share the results from T-mobile USA’s results.

They signed up a total of 802k net subscribers with 773k consisting of postpaid the rest being prepaid and other. They have a total of 24.139 million customers on their network as of 3rd quarter of 2006.

ARPU was, for voice, was $56. Data ARPU was $5.91.

Churn was 2.3%.

Prepaid churn was 6.9%.

Added 800 cell sites during the quarter to bring the total to 35,300.

Obviously they scored some key spectrum and “We currently expect these licenses to be granted late in the fourth quarter of 2006 or in early 2007.”

In the 3rd quarter of 2005, they signed up a total of 1.059 net new subscribers and obviously, they signed up d...

New Nokia UI

I really like the UI of the 6126/6131. What phones have it? Are there any candy bar, slider, or swivel phones that have it?

Sidekick w/ data only from agent?

I am think about getting a Sidekick with a data only plan. I have gone to a couple of T-mobile authorized dealers to inquire and I was told that I can't get a Sidekick with a data only plan. I know this is not true since I can order this configuration on T-Mobile's web page. I was going to the dealers to see if I could get a better price on Sidekick.

Are authorized dealers not allowed to sell this configuration? One of them told me I could get the voice and data plan and drop the voice plan after a month, I find this hard to believe.

Sidekick pricing was a bit better from the dealers but not if I have to buy a voice plan.

"Don't drop Dad"

So there are now giant billboards over NYC that say:

Don't drop Dad!
T-mobile has the fewest dropped calls in New York.

Did T-mobile pull a cingluar and throw money at telephia to make this claim? Or is there another " leading independant wireless research company" out there?

I thought T-Mobile was the first to do my faves, I was wrong...

Apparantly AT&T Wireless tried to do the same thing, except they called it "My-Five" but unfortunatley they had no luck with it because they limited it to just AT&T Wireless customers, and not what T-Mobile has done, where it is any 5 numbers, not just T-Mobile ones.

Here's the thread from the AT&T Wireless Forum:

My-Five redundant with new unlimited Mobile to mobile

by casper69 Feb 3, 2004, 9:17 PM

The My-Five feature which is to be launched at a later date this year seems kinda redundant now that we have unlimited mobile to mobile minutes. The My-Five feature is a feature that allows unlimited calling to five other AT&T wireless numbers each billing cycle, and the numbers can be changed each month via online customer...

Quick questions

If I get an incoming call from an international # does it charge me as if I was calling them?
Also, I'm getting a family plan, can I add texting only to one line? I dont need unlimited texting and only one line would be using it anyway?

New Nokias

I am a big Nokia fan. My husband just bought me a 7370 (yes, I am very girly) which I should receive by Tues. But here are some Nokias that haven't come out yet in the USA. Any that you guys think would be worth getting?

samsung D810

Hey, has anyone out there used the Samsung D810? I am considering buying it. I know it wont work off of the T-mobile network in the states. What I'm curious about is, since it's a GSM version of the A900, is it suject to the same flaws the A900 had/has? Thanks if anyone can answer this.

?re: t-mobile prepaid phone upgrade

I am new here, so sorry if this is a dumb question. I have a Nokia 6101 prepaid phone. Can I purchase a t-mobile phone for an upgrade, other than what T-mobile lists for their prepaid service? For instance, if I bought an unlocked t-mobile phone and put my SIM card in it, would that work? Or does it specifically have to be one of the prepaid models?

Thanks for any info.

RAZR vs. Nokia 6133 Question

Why is it that the new RAZR gets over twice the talk time as the 6133 but yet its battery has less capacity? It just seemed odd to me since they both large bright screens and music players and etc. built in.
