Now that it's released should I get the phone or is the E815 better?

ALso would retail price on Alltel be $219 for the phone?

Just got these into the store today. Not sure when they go on sale. Not a bad looking phone. I didn't get a chance to really play with it today. Camera/video and bluetooth.

Commercials have just stated to air here, but I know that St. Louis isnt an ALltel area.

So I got a Strobe, mainly for the text/AIM feature...and cant use either. when I try to use AIM, it says "checking for upgrade" for a looooooooong time and then "retry when coverage is better." It wont let me send a text, I get an error message saying "retry in 1min(s)?" and it is rally frustrating me. I'm paying for the access pack, $20/month, and cant even use it! any tips, I'm anxious to get this fixed and test the phone before my grace period is up

I believe Alltel will one day be purchased by the great and mighty VERIZON WIRELESS. The way the Cellular Industry is going, I believe there will only be three or four major carriers! I know Verizon will be one and also Cingular and Sprint. So enjoy T-Mobile and USCC while they last!

But I do believe Alltel will bow down to the GREAT and MIGHTY VERIZON WIRELESS

when is alltel gunna come out with a phone like the sidekick 3 or the lg vx 9800 or the nokia 9300 with mp3 player and all that good stuff...i mean i see they did come out with the strobe but that looks like crap and doesent have all the great features as the phones i mentioned

Ok, is the strobe or the kyocera slider remix better? I want something eye catching, but I also love to text. I want something user friendly, but definitely a good camera and a good speakerphone. oh yeah, and something durable because i'll drop it a lot. Price isn't a big issue but take it into consideration (online rebates don't count because I'm getting it at an Alltel store). Please help!

I have a question regarding roaming, if your in a roamer friendly area, do your calls involving mobile to mobile count, and do Night and weekends count. or are you charged from your anytime minutes when on roam when making what normally would be a mobile to mobile call and a night and weekend call. one more thing does my circle count if your on roam as well

does anybodyknow what you would need to do to get evdo to work on an 815 while roaming in a verizon market that is evdo capable. I am in knoxville, tn and I know this is an evdo market, but I can only get 1rtt right now and can't access evdo on my phone, what do I need to do to get the evdo data connection in this market.

I have FIRST-HAND knowledge of a conference call with the SFL network techs that was arranged with the Alltel Execs...

One of the main focus points of the conf. call was the ability to convert a PCS network over to Alltel and how long it would take to convert a network spanning from West Palm to Miami.

One of the techs cut thru the B.S. and asked if it was the Metro PCS network (which covers this area). One of the Execs replied yes. And the tech said it would not be a problem to convert the network in less than 3 months.

The only setback that would delay this undertaking, is the Windstream branch-off, which would limit the amount of money allocated to buying a network this size.

Seems to me that the only active poster on this site is Snuggles, that would be me 😈

But everytime I make a post, I get put down and berated. Yet I create activity on a defunct useless forum.

I asked a simple question for sample phone pics to be posted from the cameras to see quality. And that was put down.

Why? Because those who put my questions down don't know the answers themselves so it's easier to respond with a put down then answr the question.

This may be a stupid question but newayz, is it possible to have a tri-band evdo phone? Like a phone that does cdma 850,1900,Amps, and have evdo?

😕 Does anybody know if there is an issue with text messaging to other cellular services. I have a friend that can not text to 90% of the people she tries. Does anybody know anything?????????? 😕

They have got to have the CUTEST commercials in mobile phone history. 😁 I'm sure you all know I'm talking about the "circle" commercials. People have probably already posted this before...but this site lags way too much for me to search on it.

I had to give a big thumbs up to whoever Alltel's ad company is. It's such a breath of fresh air...compared with the "what the hell did I just watch and how can I unwatch it" commercials as of late, eg: Skittles. 🙄
