V710 CARRIERS

I am currently with Verizon, and am very unhappy that they have disabled some of the features from my Motorola V710 phone that I have had for over 5 months. I was told that they were working on software to enable some of the features, but so far no luck.

I am wondering if there is a carrier that I can use my V710 phone with all of it's features intact? Is this possible?

Simple Question about Phonebook entries Motorola V710

Just purchased the V710 and trying to add entries to the phone book.

Let's say I add my wife into the phonebook, I want to put her cell #, Work # and our Home # under her entry in the phone book. How do I go about doing that, without having three entries in the phone book?

The way i started was go to phonebook, add new entry. I entered her name and # and put the Type in as Mobile, then I went to .....MORE..... and added a new phone #, typed in the phone # for her work. However now when I go back to the phonebook, there are two entries for my wife in the phone book. Am I doing something wrong, or is this the way that this phone records entries?

Thanks

Regarding: Bluetooth functionality and the Motorola V710

Dear Sirs:

Ok, I understand (now) why Verizon disabled the movement of data (ringtones, mp3s, photos). You (Verizon) figured out a way for the customer to pay for these transfers. Smart, slimy business for not telling the customer upfront and then outright lying saying the problem would be fixed with an update sometime in November of 2004, but smart.

What I really wanted my phone to let me do was synchronize my contacts and calendar. I could care less about the camera and mp3 player, I...

V710 about to be upgraded????

I was thinking about getting a V710 on the "new every two" plan. Unfortunatly it was "not avaliable" on the VW site. I contacted them and got this reply.

"I apologize, Verizon Wireless is experiencing a temporary shortage of inventory of the V710 due to a manufacturing improvement of one of the devices components."

They are offering a $50 online discount on the phone and that makes if free with the "new every two" program. Could they be unloading the old phones?? What component are the improving? Perhaps the camera which I have read is not great. If anyone has details let us know more.

V80 Charging connection

I currently own a V80 and have been having problems with the charging connection on the phone. When i plug the charge in it does not charge the phone. From previous experiences with nextel and the same exact connection type, I know that the connection is ****ty. Before I went through the trouble of dealing with motorola, I was seeking out other possible ideas.

Allpromoto update

Ok, so I just called customer service for the Allpromoto promotion. I qualified for Tier 4 on the prize scale and chose the MPx220 as my free phone. Here's what they told me.

Supposedly Moto had many thousands of prizes to ship and have "ran out of MPx220's". Winners who have not yet recieved thier MPx220 prizes should be getting an e-mail from Moto soon (sending out a batch today from what I'm told) allowing them to choose a different phone to expedite the orders. If you still want to recieve an MPx220 you can do so, but it will take longer. The rep was unable to tell me what the options for different phones were....here's hoping that at least one is the RAZR (it's comparably priced regardless of having less features). Granted I'd ...

Mac OS x.4 syncs with bluetooth !!! V551

As I am writing I am in the process of syncing over Bluetooth with my V551. It took several attempts to get them to pair but it was worth the effort. No more USB cables finally.

A Motorola V60-what?

A friend of mine gave me an older Motorola cell phone (says Cingular on it) that has a Cingular Wireless 32k sim card in it.

Looking at the pictures on the home site, I was able to determine that it is a v60 series phone, but I can't tell which one it is exactly. I need your help to figure that out. Is there some buttons I could push on the phone to get that info on model #? Or how bout this?
Here are some of the numbers it says underneath the battery:

Moto V551 ARRRRGGGGH

😡 Like the phone, look and feel. The manual sucks the big one! Anyone know how to insert a PAUSE into the dialed digit stream for accessing VM? In general is there a source to go for more in-depth features info on this phone?

Thanks

MPx220 - voicemail indicator stays on eventhough I don't have any VM.

Anyone else have this problem? I've tried shutting down the phone & have removed the battery but no luck. The indicator keeps coming back on and if I call VM, I have no messages.

RAZR Question

This should be so simple, but it doesn't seem to be. On my RAZR, near the ear speaker, there used to be two rubbers nubs. They prevented the screen from touching the keypad when the phone was closed. The nubs fell off somehow. Anyone know where I can get new nubs? Please note I tried Motorola, but they won't can't send them to me. I also tried a Motorla service center, but was told Motorla does not sell nubs. I also tried ebay -- again no luck. ☚ī¸

Vxx phones that are compatable with V60s phone hardware

I have a factory installed interface in my car that use a V60s phone for handfree, voice dialing, displays phoenbook, etc. In my area Cingular FAR exceeds all other carriers. Are there any other V phones that can be substituted to give me good congular coverage (850, 1900 gsm) and still work with this hardware?

Help! Motorola V551 Stays Charged 1 day...

OMG_I've been getting the go around from Cingular and Motorola on the battery life of v551 for past 2 wks. No one admitting battery life sucks. Can you tell me more. Example: I fully charge the phone, made a 38 min. and 21 min. call. It goes low batt on me by 10:30pm and dies. [BTW_full bars on reception, live in a metro area.] I can't trust the reliability phone will be there when I need it. I could do 2 days of long calls on my Nokia 3560 before even charging. Husband and son have same prob w/ v551. Son lives in another town so it's not our location. I'm still w/in 30 days and thinking of having Cingular give me a good old reliable Nokia. Love v551 features, but need reliability. Comments??? Help??? Suggestions???
