Samsung SCH-A670

All of the VZW stores in south Jersey got these phones in and they are being sold to the public june 21st!! I heard $199 with a $50 rebate on a 2 yr contract as the price. You can also take a pic with the phone shut which is a cool feature!!

I am thinking of getting this phone but have never owned a Samsung phone. I am dumping the Motorola V710 (a complete failure). Before that I had a Motorola V60 (very good basic phone). Is this a phone everyone would recommend or is there another I should consider? I think the LGs feel a bit cheap (almost as bad as the V710) and Samsung doesn't feel much better. The 7000 is nice but huge and bulky. 😁

I know the verizon carrys the a670 of the samsung, but does anyone know the model numbers for this phone for all other carriers?

Can everyone list some things that bother you about this phone?
And if you know if it has been fixed.
(Something i want to hear about is the external lcd light...)

i am thinking about purchasing this phone but there is one small problem. the ringer volume seems very low to me. It could be me but i just wanted to know do anyone else who owns this phone think different. very nice phone though.

i cant get a voicemail shortcut up... it isnt 1 like it says it should be in the manual, but is there a way i can make it 1 including pauses so i dont have to enter my password?

Recently dropped phone an dont got insurance. The external LCD is ok and working fine but the protectant cover ( plastic ) is busted. Anyone know a phone with the same size covering or where I can get this fixed without sending it to Samsung.

whenever i take a picture with flash, the flash seems to get in the picture... like it'll stay and make the picture all white or blue. does anyone else have this issue?

i really want ringtones that has real music in it.. i had tmobile and it was so easy to use and get..buh verizon is confusin me so much ☹️ so does anyone kno where i can get those..

Searched the forum for an answer to my question but could not find it. I was adding contacts in my phone and realized that the phone refused to take 7 digits as a phone number it forced me to enter 10 digits while entering number for any contact.
Is this a feature in 670 or something wrong with my device.
Like I couldnt enter 777-7777 as a phone number for a contact I had to enter the area coce.

Error Messsage is
"Phone number must be no less than 10 digits"

Please send me your feedback ASAP.

Just got my phone 2 days ago...love it! Very simple to program even without user guide. Having a little trouble with the voicecommands/contacts. I went to verizon and downloaded all my contacts from an old LG phone. When I go into Contacts, and type a name, I don't see the icons before the name...basically i see the name (ex. John) listed three times and i have no clue if it's home, office, etc. - is this because i downloaded my contacts from my old phone, as opposed to entering each contact? Do I have to edit my list, and if so, how to include the icons? Also, when using voice command, name dial - same thing, same name shown three times with no icon. The voice command chooses the first name listed. In the user guide, it says it will...

Does anyone have a problem with this phone getting hot after a few minutes of use?

I have the A650 and that phone gets hot after 3-5 minutes of use.

I am thinking about switching to the A670.

Any thoughts?

Hello ... is there anyone out there willing to try the Radar by Weather Channel Get It Now application on their Samsung a670 phone? All the features of the application work for me except the most important (in my mind) -- animating the radar. I'm able to pull up still radar images just fine. But when I have the radar up and I select "Motion," the application "processes" for several minutes and then comes up with an error. Does anyone else have the same problem? ... or does it work fine for everyone else?

I just bought this phone last week. I love everything about the phone, but have just discovered that the most important feature to me -- the animated Doppler radar on the Get It Now Weather Channel application -- doesn't work. I called Verizon and they said that I needed to go into my local Verizon store and ask them to update the software on my phone. But I went to the store and they said that there is no software update out yet for the Samsung a670. Has anyone else had this experience? I'm trying to find out how long it will be until the software update is out. This is an important feature to me, but I really love the phone otherwise. I need to decide whether to keep the phone or try a different one before my 15-day trial period is up in a...

Does this phone's keypad have a light feature? The keypad on my phone does not light up at all.
It seems strange that I can't find any menu that offers this feature.

Does anyone know how to lock out specific SID's? Even when in home only mode, it will pick up roaming SIDs and this is obviously a big problem. especially since it doesnt show on the outer screen if you are in a 1x or roaming.

I purchased the samsung a670 and i got the extended battery. I just wanted to know if this phone has a detector that when you charge it and it is completed, it doesnt over charge and damage the battery. Im not sure what the actual term for this is...but would anyone know the answer to this? Becuase the new phones like the 710 have this feature, where once the battery is completed, the detector or wall, doesnt allow anymore electrons to go through...therefore you can never overcharge and ruin the phone and battery. If anyone knows the answer to this, please get back at me. Thanks a lot.
