Samsung SCH-A670

When ever someone leaves a message, it notifies me by a loud beep. I tried everything but I could not change the sound or the lower the volume.
Anyone know how to change the voice message alert?

Anyone notice that the "back" key doesn't work in some instances?

Go into the section where you can change the volume of the voicemail alert, make your selection, then hit back...nothing happens...

Is it just my phone?

I purchased Samsung A670 about two months ago and I discovered few problems...

1. A670 only displays up to 10 wall paper images. (For example, I downloaded 20 images in given time but the phone only displays 10 images. If I delete any previous image, then the 11th image shows up and so on. Thus, the phone CAN store more than 10 images but for some reason, it only display up to 10 images)
2. A670 does NOT allow you to edit wall paper images file names
3. A670 displays up to 20 ringtones

I called Samsung regarding this problem and talked to a Supervisor in the level 2 tech support. They do not consider this as a problem but consider this as phone's limitation. As of 08/27/04, they don't plan to release any update software version...

I am probably going to buy this phone upon switching to Verizon, but I have some questions about it first. If anybody could answer them I would appreciate it.

1.) Do you have to subscribe to Get-It-Now, or does it come with the phone?
2.) Does Get-It-Now use airtime minutes?
3.) Does this phone support Picture ID on the external display?
4.) Do I have to use the extendable antenna?
5.) Can I charge the phone longer than necessary?
6.) Do you think the phone is worth the money?
7.) Are there any big drawbacks that could make someone pass up this phone?

Verizon finally got some cool screensavers on one of their services for the A670. The funmail wallpaper site on get-gouged-for-it-now has added a section of Underdog screensavers. it has RiffRafff, Barr Sinister, Sweet Polly Purebred, and of course Underdog himself. 😁

Any phones with non stop txt message notifications?

Next to the actual "phone" use, I primarily use my phone as a pager. I have computer server jobs set up to txt message me if there are problems.

My problem is that at night my current phone only rings twice when a page comes in. Does the a670 ring until you answer (for a page). Does anyone know of a phone that would do that.

Also, on the a670, can you change the volume/vibrate level from the outside of the phone (without opening it).

I know from what I've read in the forum that there are few available ringtones for this phone. The websites that Verizon recommend...aren't that great. Does anyone have any other suggestions??? 😉

Is there any possible way to turn off the shutter sound (when you take a picture)? Silence all mode doesnt do it. Also, are there any hidden features such as how to make the volume louder and how to get into the phone programming?

Does anyone know of a way a remote button could be attached to the HF kit to allow remote answer and provide a trigger to activate the voice commands? Some Bluetooth kits from Sony and Nokia have this...

I'm trying to figure out how to best maximize the battery life. I've heard that you should not charge it overnight. Does anyone know if that's true? I'd appreciate any other suggestions. Thanks in advance!
