USB to Windows XP

Do I need a V710-specific USB driver? Windows XP is automatically installing "Motorola V878-V690 Phone" driver.

I'm trying, without success, to connect my V710 via USB to my Windows XP computer. My intent is to eventually use Mobile Phone Tools. I cannot get Mobile Phone Tools to work, but I think my problem is the USB connection. Windows automatically installs a driver titled "Motorola V878-V690 Phone". Mobile Phone Tools acts as though it cannot see my phone. When I try to test the connection to my phone using Windows XP Device Manager, and using the the "Query Modem" test on the device, I get a response indicating that the device is not connect or not powered on (which of course I've verified).

Has anyone got a successful USB con...

Camera zoom

Why does the zoom just make the picture smaller?

It just cuts the resolution in half, the only time it magnifies is when the resolution is set to 640x480 and the magnification is at 2x.

Free Mobile Web 2.0 - WAP vs Mobile Web 2.0

I have read the threads for getting WAP for free. And I have it working. But what you get thru VZW is http, not WAP for the service type. Is there a free method for doing this? I have tried all the settings and I come up short. Is mobile web 2.0 really WAP or just HTTP web? I like the look and graphics of what VZW has to offer, but of course, I don't want to have to pay for it. Thanks.

confused

I'm still confused on how you get the songs on to the phones...do you put then on the transflash card and if you do how do you do that? Or could you put the transflash card into the phone and then hook the phone up to the computer with a USB cable, and if you did that how would you get the songs to go to the phone?

MP3 Ringtones through a Bluetooth device

I have an HS-820 headset and an HF-800 speaker.

Everything was fine (sort of...) when I had a standard ring tone -- I used the "Notify" one. When I would get a call, and a device was connected, the device would ring (fairly loudly). Not ideal, but it worked.

I just switched to an MP3 ringtone. My speaker still chimes when I get an incoming call, but my headset only makes an almost-inperceptible "boop"-"boop"-"boop" sort of sound -- I can't hear it unless I know to listen for it.

Strange... As my speaker still makes a loud noise.

Has anyone else found this happens? Is it just my headset?

Web snapshot

I don't understand what the "snapshot" function does for me when browsing the web. My goal is to be able to grab something like "driving directions", cache/store it somewhere w/out having to incur airtime charges when I want to view them later? Is there any way that snapshot does this for me?

hs820 @ vzw

i dont think that vzw is going to be selling hs810's w/ their v710s i think they will be only selling hs820's which will push people into buying the hs820 so they dont have to wait for hs810s. I also think that moto wants to get rid off their excess hs820s 🤣
