Motorola V710

is there any way to change the background on the outside screen?

I have a v710 and I have a few questions that I need help on.
1) Is there away to get the multimedia feat working on the mobile phone tools
2) Is there a seam edit to get the vzw banner off my phone.
3) Once I am able to get the multimedia feat for mobile phone tools I should be able to trans all files to phone correct?

Has anyone experienced this? I got this phone not too long ago and more recently, got memory card and put on bunch of songs.

and created the playlist including all the songs.

Here is my problem. It sometimes doesn't connect to the next song. This can happen two ways. One is just being silent and other is making ticking/skipping noise like cd noise and not playing the next song.

I'm thinking this is a harddrive problem and not the mp3 files. As sometimes it plays 3 or 4 songs in a row, but that's if I'm lucky.

I just wanted to make sure before I go to the store and exchange mine to the working one.

I'm new to the BT arena...so forgive me if this is a stupid question.

Can I use the BT on the v710 to connect to an Axim/Ipaq where the phone can be used as a modem through National Access? Or is this ability crippled out in VZW's BT?

I'm getting either an Ipaq 4705 or an Axim X50v and am looking for some connectivity options.

I am considering making my V710 phone, my primary home phone. In doing this, I really want to avoide plugging the cable in each time I am done talking on the phone.

Does anyone know of a phone cradle that can charge for a home application?

ok this is a stupid question but i forget the website that this guy had i think his name was dave...and he had all these hacks for the v710..like wallpaper on the outside ect...can someone help me?? 😕 😕

I just got a V710 and want to transfer my contacts to it. I have Motorola Mobile Phonetools v3.11 and tried to connect the phone. The laptop wouldn't pick it up, as well as my desktop. I was using the same USB data cable that I was using for my T720. When I connected the T720, it worked perfectly. According to Verizon support, they say the V710 uses a different USB data cable and I can't use the one I've been using for the 720. Is that true? Haven't contacted Motorola yet due to time constraints.

I'm currently with Verizon and I've been thinking about updating to the V710. I just have a couple questions that I couldn't find the answers to.

1.) Alright, with the MP3 ring tones, can you use your own MP3s on your PC or has Verizon modified the V710 to force you to pay for the tones. If so, that would be a big turn off to me.

2.) With the expandable memory SD card feature I can just store photos and MP3s on my phone through my computer since my laptop has a SD card reader. This would solve the hassle of having to email MP3's to my phone as I've read others do, is that correct?

Well I'd appreciate any help. I plan on purchasing this phone within the next week or two. I just wanted a couple things cleared up.

are u able to put your own picture on the backgrounds of both screens on the v710?

When I first bought this phone, someone told me that you can change which towers you use by changing a couple of numbers in the network settings. It's under Sys ID and Net Id in the network settings, but I don't know how to actually change these numbers to what I want. Anyone have a clue what I'm talking about?

How do the movies/tv shows/video that you convert and put on your v710 look?..i know its only 15fps but is that good? or jerky? lemme know thanks 😁

Hey, ok I have the V710. Actually, I have one from the first batch out. Well I noticed that all of a sudden something is going on with it. It seems to be resetting itself. First the screen goes blank, then it comes up with no service, and then finally it gets service again.

ok so you have all read the posts that are up.. so WHY exactly are you still buying this peice of junk? Send the message to Motorola that they need to make a better peice of equipment that doesn't have so many issues. charging port issues, callin 911 randomly, keypads stop working, etc.....DONT be afraid to ask your rep helping you...most will tell you straight up weither you should have this phone or not, I make all of my cusotmers aware of the facts....the who, what, where, when and whys of the phones before I sell this to them...There are still some Honost sales people out there

I need a V710 that is good physical shape but is was either broken due to other reason. i need to replace the batter holster so i need to get a phone for parts. please respond if any one is interested.

I just got a HS850 from ebay. I like the design features from the 810 along with 1.2 bluetooth protocol like the 820 (I already own both) Here's my beef: When I have the boom extended and the unit is on, it disconnects and reconnects every 30 seconds or so - not when I'm actually on a call but when I'm working or driving and just have it on my head between calls. It's annoying. Does anyone else have this problem?

Hi all....awesome forum! A while ago I started to have trouble logging into my Hotmail on my phone..I keep getting a "hit next button if you are not redirected" message and I have to keep manually typing in my email address and password, which I never had to do prior to this problem. What is going on here? Also, I use the Bluetooth to get online with my Dell Axim X3i PDA and when I try to access my VZW with MSN page options (email, local, news, etc)...I get a message that says HTTP 403.6 - forbidden...you do not have permission to access this page...it's like my capabilities have changed and I do not know why or what to do. So, does anyone have any thoughts? What are my options for my home page so I do not have to keep typing in my passport ...

I have just submitted complaints to the FCC (www.FCC.gov) concerning VZW's false advertising and monopolistic behavior as exhibited through the marketing of a partially technologically disabled handset-- the Moto v710.

I do not expect that I will receive any direct response to these complaints, nor am I looking for any relief or compensation.

My main hope is that through a grass-roots consumer effort (which forces carrier compliance departments to respond to complaints) we can persuade carriers to adopt a common standard for open data exchange (OBEX and OPP) and DUN in the implementation of Bluetooth AND the advertising of any handset as being "Bluetooth enabled."

i have been reading all of these posts on mp3 and transflash cards and readers and so on....
i STRICTLY want to put some of the mp3 off my computer onto my cell as RINGTONES...
by sending them through an email as attchment, what all do i need to do this.
i do NOT have a program to cut the mp3 to 20-30 seconds, so where is somewhere on the net i can download it and what else do i need. thanks to all in advance-rhino
