Sony Ericsson S710a

I dont know how else to describe the problems I am seeing, but sometimes I can connect to Media net, sometimes I cant. In every case, I have a GPRS signal as well as decent (3 or more bars) signal. Someimtes I get a 'wrong internet account' error, sometimes I get nothing, just a 'Loading' screen forever. Other times I will get the Main MediaNet menu, but cant go anywhere from there, figure that the page is loaded from cache?

Could anyone tell me if this is typical? Is it phone related? And more importantly, what should I have for my Internet profiles on this phone? I have 5 of them:

Okay, so if you are naming you pics. DO NOT ADD THE COPYRIGHT SYMBOL. Unknowingly, I did this to 10 of my pic (due to the fact I am marketing them privately) and since I've done that, all those pictures are completely locked! You can't send them, rename them, delete them copy/move them, or anything. I am going to call Sony support and raise some hell.

First, I am not highly literate in this area (cell phones, carriers, etc.).

I'm currently using an SE T610 in my 3rd year at T-Mobile. Happy with T-Mobile in general. Not so happy with the T610, primarily for reception issues.

I'm looking at my options, as my contract is up in July. I was looking at the Motorola A630 but started to get a feel that reception wasn't reputed to be very good with that phone. Stopped in a Cingular store (apparently not a corporate store -- btw, are there any/many corporate stores for Cingular? I didn't have a warm/fuzzy customer experience there - Alpharetta GA Windward) and could only see one S710a, and that was the personal phone of one of the employees. how are you healing up?

I am an agent in the Great Lakes Region and just saw the new pricing for June. The S710 is going to be 299.99 with a $100 rebate.

If a certain service provider uses "GSM 900/1800", does that mean that phones with either band will work, or that you need both bands to get it to work?

Will this phone (which doesn't have 900) work with such a provider?

Do's the s710 allow music to play through the bluetooth headset, i know it has it as a option but it doesn't seem to work, i'm mad because my friend has the nokia 6620 and the fact that it can download so many new applications to make it better makes me feel a little jealous,we both have the same bluetooth headset (the newest motorola one) and music plays on his headset, mine still plays through the phone. Is this how it is or is there sum type of option or settings i need to do? o and the voice tags on my phone don't work either, like when i press the button on the headset and say a voice i doesn't work, it doesn't even make the bleep noise it would normally make when its ready for you to say a persons name.

I've been on the fence a while between the s710a and te Samsung p777. Now with that said the apperiance and features of the s710a are more of a draw, exceopt one. The video. I really want a pretty decent video phone. The Samsung advertises up to 60 minutes of constant video and a full screen I beleive. I've heard the SE cuts of b/t 2-5 minutes and the screen for video is small. Is it that small where you can't enjoy video? Also the samsung advertises the easiness of watching clips and music videos. Can anybody help with SE video infomation and the comparison? Is the s710a a video phone. PLEASE help. Thanks ---Tetris

i own the 710 but lately ive noticed that during a conversation, there are 3 beeps that occur while i am talking. the other person doesnt hear it but im also not getting a message, another call etc... its just random beeps? im not sure what it means? there is 3 of them and it goes ding Ding DING, different little dings while talking. i know this is weird but anyone know whats going on????

Could you please help me with some questions about the video and mp3. How long can you contantly video and how many mp3s can this hold. I'm trying to decide out of this and the Samsung p777 that advertises 60 minutes of video and 25 mp3s on 100mb shared memory. I know the s710 can hold a 126mb card, but can the video length be long per clip or does it max at a minute or so? (Found out about firmwire, can somebody tell me about that?)Hope you can help. --- Tetris

Oh yeah and can you watch music videos on it? Are they easy to download or upload to the s710?

Does anyone here know how to view pics on this phone after transfering them over from PC to the memory stick?? I have taken many pics with a digital camera then tried to put them in the folder that has all my s710a pics but they dont appear when i view them from my phone. When i transfer over MP3s and MP4s etc to the memory stick those work great but I cant view the pics for some reason. 🙄

does anyone know of a way to configure the settings so that the phone also counts your incoming text messages? I love how SE phones have a counter for instant status of how many messages you have set, but with Cingular billing for both-way messages it kind of stinks.

There is no obvious menu for incoming counting, so I would assume a hack in involved, if it is even possible..anyone with any ideas?

Whats a good website for programs for this phone, whether free or for money? Like i could really use a program that can lock up certain menu features if possible and other useful ones? o has anybody tried the webveiwer and stuff, do's it work good?

Could this be offered in a firmware update?

Also, I am not able to text input when I reply to e-mails. Anybody know why?

i'd like to get this phone, and i was trying to get it for as cheap as possible. amazon has it for just under 200 bucks, but they can't switch over phone numbers, and i really want to keep my current #.

My cousin works for cingular, but said that his office has given away too many discounts and only offered the phone for $400, and then a $100.00 service credit.

I lost my s710a headset, the one that came in the box! Anyone wanna get rid of thiers or know the model or where i can buy the oem one from the box. LEASE LEMME KNOW ASAP. I like it alot because it has both ear buds for listening to mp3's.

Also, how are the bluetooth headsets with this, anyone have problems playing the mp3's just thru the bluetooth headset, any recommendations.

This is the first real issue I've had with the phone. I use the calender/planner feature in my phone heavily. A couple days ago I noticed an entry was scheduled for a different time from what I remembered scheduling it for. Upon further examination, I found that literally every entry in my calender had been moved forward by 5 hrs. I fixed all of them (it took a while). Within a day, it happened again, but this time the appts were moved 5 hrs the oppposite direction. Last night I noticed that things I scheduled less than 2 hrs ago had been moved 5 hrs from the scheduled time. I don't understand why this is happening.

I hate to file an ins claim over this. Esp considering that what I get back might be used. I'm thinking about cal...

How come sometimes when I charge my phone the red chargin light wont come on but the screen says its charging?
