will it work with BMW in car bluetooth

Will the e815 be compatible with the BMW bluetooth features. Do the disabled features (e.g. Obex, dun, etc.) impact the phones ability to transfer the address book or other in car functionality on the BMW bluetooth system? thanks

Sorry folks, no OBEX, DUN, or TF audio file transfer.

Thats right VZW has taken it one step further and disabled DUN 😡 . They have also disabled OBEX and audio transfer from the TF card to the phone as with the 710. Now all we can do is find a seem edit to fix what has been broken.

It's not all VZW ...

It does seem like Verizon and Motorola are in a relationship beyond friends ...

As most of you know, the v710 was purchased by 3 or 4 CDMA networks in the USA. All of those phones had the same features 'crippled' on them. Although the Altell version of the v710 had working Java, that is about the only difference.

What I am trying to say is Motorola listened to Verizon, in a scense, and made the v710 crippled. I highly doubt each carrier had the chance to remove the crippling.

Don't get me wrong either, but, I don't think we are seeing the bigger picture. We are all, including me, angry at Verizon, not Motorola, or Altell even. Every CDMA USA carrier that has that phone has those features disabled, and they all released a Firmware up...

Low ear-piece volume?

Like many of you guys here, I'm trying to decide between e815 and vx8100. One worry I have with e815 though is its ear-piece volume.

The last two Motorola phone I've tried had very low volume (T720, RAZR), where as my vx6000 has loud, crisp sound. Does anyone else find that newer Motorla phones in general have low volume?

It's a shame because my old Timeport 8767 had great sound.

E815 Delayed until 7/5?

Word on MoFo from reliable (?) Verizon Employees said that both the E815 & VX8100 will be released on 7/5 rather than 6/27!

E815 or vx-8100? Also, what is "crippling?"

Not sure if any comparison can be made before they come out but... I need a new phone and have narrowed it down to these two. I'd like to have Blue Tooth for the sole reason of the wireless earpiece; I drive a lot for work and think it would be handy. I've read about the possiblity of the BT being "crippled." I'm assuming that's disabled? Any why would they? 😉

talked to verizon rep

i currently have LG4000 & it is going through a rough spot. i went by a verizon store yesterday & the reps gave me the "what are you talking about" look when i asked them about e815.
i told them about their in store contest.
apparently whoever sells the most motorola phones from 6-1 to 6-27 gets a free e815.
i was then told they call it the v810.

i went to another verizon store down the road. guy there told me it was going to be $280.00. he thinks it will come out either on 6-27 or 7-11. his computer didn't have a release date.
he told me to check back with him on friday & he'd know more.

Just checked my companies B2B Verizon site and no more V710

I just went to my companies Verizon B2B site and the V710 is not there anymore. It was there yesterday. I am wondering if they removed it because they will update it with the E815 or the A840 since its not showing up. Anybody else have b2b access that they can check?

New York, Long Island still selling V710

Check the web site and low and behold, the V710 is still available. It's disappointing, as the removal of this unit from their web site would be a good first step. Oh well!
