Motorola E815 / E816 Hollywood

I did a search on vzw's site and noticed a pdf that seemed greek to me.

I figured someone on phonescoop might be interested.

This might be my first post, but I've been reading the forum for about 8 months. I just wanted to say thanks for all the info you guys provide.

I'm leagally blind and I was wondering if anyone new if any of the accessibility features on the e815 have changed from the v710. I had the v710, but I dropped it in water a few weeks ago.

The v710 was able to read the names in the contact list to me and speak the numbers during dialing.

Please don't mention the lg 4500. I'm interested in the e815 because of the mp3 player and other features not found in most other phones.

Listen rooks, I work at circuit city in the tv department and I just went over to the verizon counter and played with the 815. It is much better than the crappy v710 and will rule the world. AND ITS COMING OUT TOMARROW.

I know this for a fact. Tomarrow is is the offical launch date, I will soon be at the helm of a 815!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 😈

I have never owned a MOTO phone. Samsung and the last 3 were LG. Everybody says the reception and signal is much better than LG. Is this true? I have a 6000 and cannot get a signal in stores or supermarkets. Thanx.

Not to be a downer but I have been wanting to post this for a while. I have the E815 and it is a Engineering model. BUild is the same only thing different from Production models is my OBEX is unlocked. One thing that I still hate about this phone which I hated on my V710 is that the Video capture on this still sucks way bad. Today my wife took a video with her VX7000 and I took the same with the E815 and the VX7000 blew it away by 1 million percent! No Joke! The e815 takes better photos than the VX7000 but not better videos.

1. When will the phone come to other verizon stores because it is coming to EVDO markets only on July 5th...so what do we "non EVDO market" places do..

2. I have brought this up before and bringing it up again...can somebody please confirm that this phone cannot or can record a 5 minute video with the built in memory without a TF card...is it just 15 second clips with built in memory and longer on the TF card?

3. Is the phone coming to RS (Radioshack for all you who don't know) before verizon because thats what they did with the V710 and i still don't see it at RS?

4. Is there an online manual to the E815 that somebody can post a link to? I heard somebody say that theres an online manual already for the 8100 but nobody ever confirme...

😛 😛 😛 I read somewhere, that the menus on the 815 have changed to a more 'user friendly' type, similar to that of the LG. Can anyone confirm?

So I went to a verizon booth at the mall in S. Florida and asked when the the new moto would be coming out. The guy who I was talking to apparently new what I was talking about and said that it should come out to the verizon stores in about 2 week or less, but told me to wait out for a few more months because Motorola is releasing a Razor like phone for verizon. Capabilities are better than the e815 including a 2mb camera. At the same time for this release, 3 other phones are coming out that are either equal-to or better than the e815 and the vx8100. Also he said a new PDA by Samsung is coming out with a 900mhz processor and the bluetooth won't be crippled, so it won't interfere with their govt contracts! Anyone hear anything similar?

The device will launch in all Circuit City locations on July 3rd to support their advertising. It will launch in the Direct Stores that are in EVDO markets on July 5th. 😉

I just order my E815, i go through the Government and Education accounts. The rep said that he could order it, but for the public it should be available July 3rd. He said $199.99 + Gov discount for 1 year contract. He said it showed up yesterday in the system for them to order.

Seriously I have been waiting for this phone forever now it seems, If its not out soon I am going to have to just grab the sony ericsson S710 and stay with cingular. My phone is about to die on me 😢

Did anyone notice that on the info page for this phone, they changed the product availability from June 2005 to Mid-2005. I bet this is because it will not be available on 7/5/05 like everyone is saying.
